Great staff attitude ensuring my mother is chatting and alert. Great schedule of activities she can dip in and out as she pleases. Her health has improved since being here, soon loss complaining.

I am very pleased with the care and support my auntie receives at the care home. All the staff and management are very pleasant and helpful.
The only negative from my point of view is that communication could be better.

I feel on the whole the care provided to my mum is very good. We did have some teething problems with her care in the beginning, but it has all been sorted now. I do feel like there are not enough carers available for the care that is needed. They want to be able to spend more time with the residents
to bond and just don't have the time to do that, which is a great shame, because the residents would benefit greatly from it.
Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Daneside Court Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. The Daneside Court Team are very grateful for your kind words that recognise the care your mother receives. The team have worked tirelessly through the recent pandemic, as have other areas of the health sector. We are constantly reviewing our recruitment offer to attract new people to join us so that we can continue to meet the needs of our residents, but also to find time for those special moments which our residents deserve. HC-One, in partnership with the Local Authority, have recently increased rates of pay for our current colleagues that not only recognise the kind care they deliver but also pay enhanced rates to more experienced team members. As an organisation, we continue to raise the profile of our care colleagues within our local communities to gain the respect and appreciation of the work they undertake, and I am pleased to recognise you as an ally in our mission.

Attended a Jubilee garden party at the home. It had been organised really well, plenty of family members had attended, all having fun, drinks and food were supplied for all (residents/families/staff) and entertainment was uplifting - two singers/raffle/bouncy castle. Residents were attended well by
staff and were encouraged to sing and jig to the music (all had fun). Nothing was too much trouble, some staff had even come in on their day off to help. My only complaint I have is that the garden chairs could do with updating.
Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Daneside Court Care HomeThank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are delighted you enjoyed the event we held in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee. It was wonderful to see everyone having a great time; we work hard to ensure our residents happiness and enjoyment. We are especially pleased that since covid, we are welcoming families again to continue to make memories with their loved ones. We appreciate our garden should be a lovely space for residents and families to enjoy and we have ordered new garden furniture to be used when we hold future occasions. We look forward to welcoming you to our next event.

After spending two months here, after coming out of the hospital, I'd say the home, services and staff have been wonderful. I'm lucky enough to be able to go home this week - but I'll miss the three good meals a day plus more.
Congratulations Daneside Court.

My mother has been a resident at Daneside Court, Northwich for nearly two years now. Mother has a lovely room kept spotlessly clean, well heated and ventilated. The food is very good, varied and well prepared and the staff, caring and very attentive.

My mother has been a resident at Daneside Court Care Home for several years. Both downstairs when she was more able and upstairs since requiring more support. She has been treated with respect, even when being rather demanding as her dementia has worsened and best of all, treated with affection and
humour. As a proud individual always concerned with her appearance she is dressed with care in freshly laundered clothes. I have only ever found reason to request more thorough teeth brushing and fingernail cleaning. I appreciate that the staff work extremely hard and would benefit from a higher staff:resident ratio.
Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Daneside Court Care HomeThank you for your kind words regarding the care and support offered to your mum by colleagues at Daneside Court. I am aware that the home has appropriately responded to your request for attention to Mum's oral care and nail care which, as you will be aware can cause some anxiety at times in residents with Mum’s medical conditions. I would also like to reassure you that we regularly review the care and nursing staff ratio’s to meet the residents' needs, however, in response to your comment I will re-evaluate our current position. Once again, I thank you for your kind words which I will pass on to colleagues at the earliest opportunity

I find it difficult to give a fair review due to Covid restrictions ie restricted visiting and then only when the care home deems it safe to do. I fully understand their position, it can't be easy on them. I know activities have been deserted due to Covid but again the care team have to follow protocol.
All in all I believe they are doing their best.

My wife suffers from dementia and is incontinent and immobile. I find that the staff cope admirably in the circumstances and do a good job considering this is not a one on one service they provide. One can always find faults in any service but overall I feel they provide a good service and value for
the money.

Mum gets an excellent level of care at Daneside Court Care Home.
I feel as though the staff are attentive and caring. Mum always seems to have enough to eat and drink and from what I can tell the quality of the food is excellent. Cleanliness of the accommodation is not an issue and mum always has her
laundry done. There appear to be adequate activities to keep the residents occupied so all in all very satisfied with mum's care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.594)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.594) out of 10 for Daneside Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Daneside Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (120 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Daneside Court Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
