From the start of our need for care with father in law in 2016 and then mother in law from 2017, we have always been made welcome.
All our concerns have been listened to and our parents in law have always been well cared for.

My father passed away at Daneside Court Care Home in January 2019. The family would like to thank the professionalism of the staff and their person-centred approach to all the family during his palliative care. Dad was treated with dignity at all times and staff, at all levels, seemed happy in their
work. Thank you to the staff manager as right from the moment I met you I found you very approachable in all matters.

Sadly my mum's stay was only short, but she settled well and liked her room. The staff were all amazing, they showed such compassion whenever they were with Mum. Also, they were so supportive with the rest of the family, always wanting to check that we were okay, offering help. I call this 'wrap around
care', human beings at their very best. Thank you.

My nana was a resident at Daneside court for a short time, In that time the manager and her fantastic staff showed so much love, empathy, care and dignity towards my nana and us as a family that we cant thank them enough.
The support the manager and staff gave us as a family was something I've never
experienced before, the genuine love and care they showed us will never be forgotten.
We can't thank you all enough, each and every staff member went above and beyond for not just my nana but our family, my only regret will be that we didnt get my nana to Daneside court sooner.
Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart.

For the past 3 ½ years the love & care given to my father-in-law and his wife at Daneside Court Care Home has been exemplary. He was cared for and treated with the uttermost respect and dignity you could have wished for. My father-in-laws' wife, who visited daily, was made to feel welcome and part of
the family. Well done Daneside Court you deserve 5 stars for your service.

My mum has lived at Daneside Court since November 2017. I have always found the staff and manager very friendly and approachable. The staff obviously care for the residents well and various types of entertainment are provided.
Mum is well looked after and is both safe and happy. It is a big step choosing
who cares for someone and I am glad that I chose Daneside Court.

Dad had been in a couple of local hospitals for nearly 6 months following a catastrophic post-surgical course in May 2016. He was totally bed bound, dependent on 24-hour nursing care. As soon as we visited Daneside Court, in the November of 2016, we knew we had found the right place for him. It is
a relatively new build and in very good decorative order. The atmosphere is very homely and the staff were very professional and friendly. The manager and her administrator immediately gave the impression that the best care of their clients was paramount. Dad settled in very soon and became a favourite of the excellent nursing and care team. He was cared for very well and even on his deathbed, received love and affection from all those that had cared for him over the last 12 months. He died comfortably and with mum at his side in a warm, safe and caring place. That’s all we and he could have asked for. I highly recommend Daneside Court Care Home.

The difficulties in caring for vulnerable residents is not generally known by the average public member. It is only when faced with a family member requiring residency, that all matters need to be correct and in place.

The management at Daneside Court seems to have solved the problem. It starts at

the top with the management and administrative staff sending a very clear message to the carers, nurses and catering staff.
The result is a care home that is working to satisfy the residents and of course the families that are associated.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.594)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.594) out of 10 for Daneside Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Daneside Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (120 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Daneside Court Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
