My mum arrived at Overdene House in January 26, it was a very hard decision to put my mum into a care home. It was however the best decision I have made. The home is amazing, the staff are wonderful they can not do enough for my mum. The care manager is always on site, friendly and approachable. The nurses are amazing, with medication nothing is to much trouble. My mum is unable to feed herself the staff sit with her patiently and feed her. Activities are always available, there is a resident hairdresser and chiropodist which is great as my mum is bedbound. Can honestly say I feel safe leaving my mum after visiting.
My nan was recently admitted to Overdene House Care Home which has been the best decision we have made as a family. The home feels welcoming my nan has been so relaxed and settled nothing is ever enough here. Her room is always clean and tidy. My nans care needs are always well met. The staff are amazing as well as the nurses. Management are amazing as well. Overall the home is amazing as well as the staff.
Had a great feeling when coming into the home (first impressions) staff absolutely amazing cant fault anything about this home.
Although my mother suffers from acute dementia, it is clear from my regular visits that she is comfortable, warm, clean and well fed. For her recent 89th birthday, the staff were brilliant and went that extra mile to provide a lovely party for her and the family members. I cannot praise and thank the staff enough for all their hard work and caring attitude.
My mother has now been in Overdene House for just over one year. Throughout, the level of care has been excellent. The staff go above and beyond to look after the welfare of the residents. Delighted that my mother has been allowed to enjoy her golden years in this care home.
Mam seems to have settled in lovely. Home nice and clean. Lovely staff.
The cleanliness is first class and the food always looks lovely plus plenty of tea breaks.
Thank you for your care.
Since my Daughter went in to Overdene, the staff and facilities have been very good.Yes there is problems, but talking to staff soon clears things. There is always plenty staff on Monday till Friday,at weekends, like anywhere that looks after people at weekends there is not enough staff.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as it helps us to make improvements where required. at Overdene House we review our staffing levels in line with the needs of our residents on a regular basis. Our levels of staffing depend on the needs of those living with us.
I have no concerns or worries about my dad living at Overdene. The management and staff are extremely approachable and helpful . My dad is very happy living at Overdene. He likes all the staff and gets well looked after.
With regret, I have to say Overdene House Care Home is on a downward spiral. On occasions I have done Mum's personal care. A lot of good nursing, care and kitchen staff have left, during the time Mum has been here. I chose Overdene from past experience for Mum. Mum is bed bound, dementia and needs continuing care. It seems by some staff it's a person in a room. No management seem to care about these residents and their needs, in fact you don't see any management.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are sorry you feel Overdene House is not operating as it should as the wellbeing and care of our residents is of utmost importance to us. Personal care is person-centred to ensure the most...
As a relative, I appreciate the kind and available help from all the staff. Thanks to all.
Mum went into Overdene after many long weeks in hospital she has been at Overdene for a few weeks now and we are so happy and appreciative of the care she has received as yet. We were welcomed by such a lovely caring staff that made us feel comfortable and settled in knowing that Mum would be cared for, we were able to take the same bits from home to make her room feel more homely. Mum has truly settled in well. She loves all the food and enjoys the puddings. Her dignity and independence have been maintained safely for her, and she enjoys attending the activities and feels safe. We would like to say a big thank you to all care staff, nurses, KA, activity lady, HR, and management for their help and support in this transition period (such a caring, reassuring team.)
I would definitely come back here again if I needed to.
Thank you to all of the staff for all of the help and support given to me while I was in your care.
So, my words do not convey - our sincere thanks to all the staff at Overdene for all the care, kindness and compassion shown to our mum whilst she was with you for the last three months of her life. You, as a care team, are exceptional and a credit to your profession. We would like to say "a big thank you" to management, maintenance and cleaning staff for keeping Mum's room and everywhere spotless! Wonderful food and laundry. Exceptional care and professional nursing staff, and for keeping us informed and involved in Mum's care.
I visit my friend every two weeks and have been impressed with Overdene House Care Home. All the staff are friendly and helpful. My friend seems happy and very well looked after by everyone.
My father has been at the care home for three months and turned 100. his event was catered for and supported by the home. He had 15 guests who were made very welcome. The conservatory, bar area and terrace were nicely decorated, creating a real festive feel to the occasion. The carers were very helpful and ensured Dad looked fab for his big day.
The facilities available (a conservatory with bar and outdoor patio space) allowed us to surround him with friends and family on this momentous occasion, alot of who he gets to see very rarely.
The care home provided sandwiches, chips and an incredible birthday cake which was beautiful and delicious! They also went all out on decorations buying balloons for him too.
The staff helped get my grandfather ready and checked in on us regularly to see if we needed anything throughout the afternoon (the party was just a couple of hours so as not to be too overwhelming). And as soon as he needed some rest, they were on hand to help settle him back into his room.
The staff also facilitated all of the tidying up and clean up afterwards, which was hugely appreciated as my parents were quite tired after the event.
Thank you very much to everyone that helped us, and thank you for looking after our grandad!
As my wife needs 24-hour care and is unable to look after herself, then a nursing home and Overdene provide it all.
Staff are nice.
Nobody likes to be in a home.
I settled in quite well.
Thank you.
Really happy with my experience in Overdene. I've been here for two months, and hoping to stay here permanently. I have never felt better in myself, and it shows family and friends who have been to visit and comment on how well I look - the best I've looked in years.
