I am happy that she is being cared for very well. Although her Vasular Dementia means that her needs are complex, Mum receives care that is tailored to her needs. There is no way that I could offer her the care she required, at home. There are plenty of activities for the residents. The food is great and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.

I have worked in the care sector for 39 years, mainly with older people. I have worked for Springcare for nearly 9 years as the registered manager at Bucklow Manor. I have worked for numerous organisations over the years in different capacities, such as a senior support worker and healthcare assistant. I have been a registered home manager for 22 years. I am passionate about the continual improvement and growth of the services that I manage.
My hobbies are spending time with my family, holidays, and my beautiful French Bulldog, Princess Lulu.
I would say the best thing about being a registered manager is the diversity of the role and being able to give back to the older generation.
The one piece of advice I would give to someone starting their career in care is to take every day as it comes; every day is different
