I am so grateful to all the staff at Cranford Grange. They have a sometimes very hard, but also very important job to do and they are always there for me to talk to, and consult with. Having a parent in care is really difficult but they have made me feel both at ease and also like part of the family. Thank you

My Mum was in a care home in Scotland and in April I moved her to Cranford Grange to be close to me. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful with what could have been an incredibly stressful move and gave her a fabulous welcome after a long journey. Since then all the staff have been just fantastic. Really kind, considerate and enthusiastic. I feel that they really understand Mum’s needs and personality and it’s so lovely to see their interaction with her. Mum has a lovely room overlooking the garden and is very close to the Salon for her nails and hair which she has enjoyed having done. It’s a real pleasure going to visit Mum at Cranford Grange and I couldn’t be happier with my choice of care home for her.

My mother is currently a resident at Cranford Grange Care Home and wanted me to share her experience and to reassure anyone thinking of moving into a care home, that it is the best decision she made, and despite being a little bit apprehensive, she thoroughly loves it. The care assistants and nurses are exceptionally patient and caring. The restaurant waitresses make sure her meals and drinks are prepared to her specific requirements and the activities team are all experts in making sure everyone has a great day and are "living their best life". My mum has made new friends, she has put weight back on and, more importantly to me and my sister, she has her smile back. She's happy, well looked after and in control of her life.

When I arrived at 6:30 pm on 08.06.2022, Mum had no pants on, I do not know how long she had been left like that. I told two senior nursing staff at 6:40 pm but no one came to put her pants on by the time I left fifty minutes later. I am not sure how this ties up with your 'we aim to preserve your dignity' statement.

Secondly, visitors are told that they have to wear masks. The staff also wear masks but not necessarily on their noses and over their mouths. Staff in a care setting should know better than this.

Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Cranford Grange

Thank you for bringing this to our attention – it’s certainly not our usual standards, and we apologise profusely to both your mum and you. Please know that we take your feedback incredibly seriously, and senior management will be investigating it straight away. We will be in contact with you directly regarding this.

My mother is very happy at Cranford Grange. She is well looked after, her care needs are being met, and she has a bright airy room with a bathroom and a superb view. She enjoys a wide variety of activities. Her favourite activity seems to be fish and chip Friday followed by live entertainment! Care Staff are all attentive and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. There is a nurse on hand and access to a doctor has been prompt when needed. She has had regular podiatry and physio appointments and the hairdresser is available when needed. The food is wonderful. I have been treated by my mother to a meal with other family members in the private dining room. We had a delicious 3-course meal for 6 in relaxed and convivial surroundings. The grounds are exceptional. The gardens provide seating areas that will come into their own in the summer and there is a wheelchair-friendly path. The environment created in the home is friendly and caring.

Review from John S (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 21 April 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The lady for whom we had power of attorney for was initially placed in the care of what was then known as Sunrise of Mobberly whilst we, her carers, travelled to Australia. When we did return, we asked the person to which we had POA for and cared for if she wanted to return home. We had a resounding no. During her stay she was first in the assisted living area which she enjoyed very much with plenty of entertainment and things to do, she even began to learn to speak French. Unfortunately, her condition began to deteriorate and she was moved to the reminiscence floor where we can honestly say she received the best care possible, not being left to lie in bed all day but was taken to the lounge area where the other residents were gathered. Again over a period of time, her condition deteriorated further which meant she had to be moved to the nursing area where again we can say her care was second to none.

Altogether she was in Sunrise, now known as Cranford Grange, for three and a half years.

The staff are caring, thoughtful and fun! My mum appreciated all three during the two and a half years she lived at Cranford Grange. As her needs changed so did the care. Seeing so many different smiling faces throughout the day gave my mum a mental lift and she enjoyed the company of many of the staff. Access to management, nursing and caring staff is easy which means that you can always get an update on your loved one if you are unable to visit.

Both of my parents have been cared for by Cranford Grange Care Home (formerly Sunrise) for three years, within the specialist dementia neighbourhood. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their specialist care is outstanding, treating Mum and Dad as individuals but also as a couple. The environment is purpose-built, so perfect for those not as able as others. The team are dedicated to providing superb levels of personal attention and genuinely care and, indeed, love their clients. Having to find care for my loved and adored parents was extremely stressful and heartbreaking and my heart goes out to anyone in this situation, but we struck gold first time with Cranford Grange and from initial enquiries, to then being part of the family for three years has been a complete comfort and reassurance. If you have an issue they will have almost certainly dealt with it before and have the expertise to help. Nothing is too much trouble. A fabulous team of dedicated, caring professionals. I wish you well.

My mother recently spent 4 weeks in respite care at Sunrise following a hip replacement. She was treated with kindness and respect throughout her stay. She is a very quiet and private lady and not one for mixing with others. Her wishes were taken care of at all times including all meals in her room for which she/I was extremely grateful.
She went into Sunrise walking with a frame and came out walking with her stick which is where she was prior to her fall.

All the staff from admin, carers, nursing and cleaners were excellent and I can't thank you enough for looking after her albeit for a short time. If respite is needed in the future, we will return without a doubt.

Her care is outstanding, from nursing assistance after 2 cataract operations and other senior ailments. She enjoys her days at Sunrise and has survived the Corona pandemic through the care taken by the management.

Mum went into Sunrise Mobberley for 4 week respite period during April 21 following a hip replacement.
From my initial visit until the end of Mum's stay, I have been most impressed by Sunrise.
Most importantly, Mum settled straight away and found the staff to be very caring. The food is very good, the bedroom is comfortable, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents busy. (Mum is now apparently very good at scrabble)!
Mum needed a lot of physio post-op, and so the link-up with PhysioFit was excellent.
We were lucky in that the Covid visiting rules became less stringent during Mum's stay, but it is clear that Sunrise has striven to help residents see their loved ones whilst keeping everyone safe and within the rules.

I would not hesitate to recommend Sunrise.

Sunrise of Mobberley has proved to be outstanding with the care of my grandmother, particularly in the unprecedented time of lockdown. She has been beautifully loved and cared for by exceptional carers, well occupied by the activity staff and nourished by top quality food. All in all, she has had many wonderful years, very happy and contented at this amazing care home. Thank you to the manager and the staff.

All staff were very welcoming and always helpful and obliging to us as relatives. They were available at all times to answer our questions about Dad’s progress and well being. They were clearly and genuinely concerned about him as an individual and did everything to help him make progress in his respite care.

I have always been impressed by all aspects of Sunrise of Mobberley, but since the Covid, I have been overwhelmed by the excellence of Sunrise of Mobberley. The care shown over the last year has been fantastic. The manager leads fantastic staff, helping residents and staff, and communicate brilliantly with relatives, especially the need for total lockdown when they have been required. Learn with compassion could be a motto for Sunrise of Mobberley.

Both our parents moved to Sunrise, Mobberley from London some 2 years ago.
They were reasonably well at the time but needed a little more help. (Their beloved cat ‘Asbo’ joined them in the 2 bedroom suite!).
The help and assistance offered was dignified, and respectful in manner and the carers were eager to learn about their lives and interests earlier in their lives.
In June 2020 our mother passed away aged 94, followed by my father in December 2020. They had been married since 1950.
The professional care and attention they received was nothing but excellent from all departments throughout the time spent there.
Equally, as a family, we have been supported throughout with kindness and understanding.
Without any hesitation, we would recommend this dedicated home from home for the elderly.

We will miss them and The Sunrise of Mobberley family.

I wish to thank all the wonderful staff at the Sunrise Home in Mobberley. I cannot express our gratitude enough. Through these times, they have cared for and supported my father with their continuing professionalism and with kindness and love. We have a weekly FaceTime with him which for the family and my father has been wonderful. His spirit has been good which is completely down to the dedication of the teams there. It is a very happy, caring environment which, in these times, has made a difficult 2020 the best it could be for Dad.

The last six months have been difficult for everyone due to the Corona Virus. During this period we have all seen bad press associated with care homes, the lack of information, PPE and many other related issues. My experience with Sunrise of Mobberley has been nothing like this! Information/communication has been first-rate throughout. All staff members know the current situation when we speak on the phone and whilst most places have kept their "doors locked" Sunrise put a safe system in place to allow family visits - again taking that extra step and making the effort to allow life to continue. Testing over the period has been carried out and no cases of the virus have been found thanks to the efforts of everyone at Sunrise. I'm only pleased my father-in-law is a resident and my wife and I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone involved for going that "extra mile".
