The first thing that strikes you when you walk into Cranford Grange is the caring, happy and friendly atmosphere displayed by the staff.
The entrance and communal living spaces are light and airy and feel more like a hotel environment than a care home. Also what impressed me is that the staff appear
to enjoy working there and take pride in their work. This for me is a very important consideration as discontentment within the environment would have a negative impact on the residents.
The staff hopefully try to match like-minded people together to make the residents feel as though they belong, something which I hope they continue to do. They also have a great activities team offering daily activities for the residents.
In comparison to other care homes, Cranford Grange stands out and would thoroughly recommend checking it out as a possibility for your loved one.
Another bonus is the fact you are welcome to visit at any time.

My mother was looking forward to her Christmas respite visit to Cranford Grange having been there before to recover from a severe fall. Cranford did not disappoint.
The staff were friendly, accommodating and always helpful.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the residents are allowed to do their own
thing.
At the end of the stay, my mother my was looking very well nourished and had clearly benefitted from the significant increase in interaction with other residents and staff.
Well done Cranford Grange!

My father did not want to leave his own house but increasing mobility problems made living on his own impossible. Cranford Grange has been the solution. The purpose-built care home is a spacious, well-appointed space but it is the quality of the staff that make me and my brothers thankful that we chose
it as a place for our dad to continue his life. It's always people who make the difference so the kindness, care and trouble took by staff: housekeepers, cleaners, kitchen staff, nurses and the carers themselves is wonderful. The home is a relaxed, cheerful place and my dad especially enjoys the daily quiz.

Visiting Cranford Grange was a breath of fresh air from the initial enquiry and prompt reply nothing seemed too much trouble. My dad had been in hospital and lost a lot of independence/mobility and Cranford was the first home that had not been phased by this. My first meeting and viewing was very thorough,
so much so that I reserved a room the same day. The process for admission was respectful, efficient and reassuring. The nurse assessed dad in hospital with kindness and patience. His move into Cranford was well organised. He has been there just over 4 weeks and I cannot fault the staff and level of care. Cranford Grange is well-staffed meaning they have time to chat with people and welcome family and friends with excellent communication. There are a lot of activities each week which are well organised. The food is freshly prepared and cooked from scratch with a choice each mealtime. I leave him each visit with confidence knowing he is safe and settled and with a smile on his face.

Mum was in need of respite care after breaking her arm in a fall at home in January 2021, at the height of the second wave of Covid 19. Cranford Grange (Sunrise of Mobberley as it was then) was one of very few care homes that were offering respite care at the time and Mum arrived there in early February.
On the second day she announced that she felt safe there and would like to stay on permanently! From that moment she has been happy and contented and extremely well cared-for. The home is beautiful but more importantly, is staffed by lovely, kind people at all levels, who all have time not only for Mum but for her family and friends too. Since being there, in spite of her dementia Mum has regained her sense of humour that had slipped away after the isolation of lockdowns. She loves the social interaction and the many opportunities for fun and laughter. We couldn't be happier that she is now settled at Cranford Grange.

My mother moved into Cranage Grange several months ago. It was a difficult time for the family and for her, as she embarked on a new phase of her life, but the staff could not have been more caring and thoughtful. Her room was beautifully furnished and welcoming and the staff have been very helpful
in terms of sorting out any issues to ensure that settled in and felt at home as quickly as possible. One of the things we particularly like about the home is that it feels more like a very nice hotel rather than a care home. There is a lively atmosphere throughout and there are a range of daily activities for residents to take part in if they want to. We take comfort in knowing that my mother is safe and well cared for.

Twelve months ago our family was faced with that terrible decision, our mother's dementia and physical frailty had become impossible to manage at home. Thankfully we found Cranford Grange Care Home. The home has a lovely rural setting and as you walk through the doors you immediately feel at ease. The
staff are hard-working and professional but more importantly are compassionate and friendly. They make our mother smile and if she is happy the family are happy, knowing that we made the right decision twelve months ago.

My mother moved in, in October. The transition was seamless and all staff were very welcoming. We particularly appreciated the gifts for my mother which were a lovely touch. The staff have continued to be patient with my mum who has significant memory problems and have also given me plenty of support.
The rooms are beautiful, the menu appetising and there are plenty of activities to get involved in.

Visiting my friend during this year has been so comforting, it is not always an easy time for family and friends to entrust their loved ones to someone else's care, especially when they are vulnerable and unsure, but the transition from familiar surroundings into her new home has been so calm and reassuring,
that within a short space of time her 'new extended family' meant she was relaxed and totally settled.
The friendly attitude of the caring staff and the kindness to family and friends who visit Cranford Grange Care Home
has helped everyone through what is, or can be, the very hardest period in our lives but thankfully their wide knowledge of 'specialist' needs has given peace of mind to the ones who care and, most importantly, to those who need to be cared for with dignity and respect.

When we decided it was time for my mum to move into residential care we of course looked around at different places. Cranford Grange Care Home we just called into unexpectedly, on telephoning them they were extremely helpful and arranged for us to look around. As soon as we walked in we were impressed.
Firstly, it is a beautiful setting and home but more importantly, there was such a relaxed and happy atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and guided us through different options. There was no pressure and a very kind, empathetic manner which we, as a family, really appreciated. They understood fully our mixed feelings of upset and guilt in this most difficult decision process. We were very grateful and happy for all the help they gave us through the process and feel our mum is now in a sociable, happy and safe environment.

Cranford Grange Care Home is a friendly place, well appointed.
The staff are first-class and treat each resident as an individual. All staff know the residents' names and truly care.
My mum came in for respite and has enjoyed her time so much she has decided to stay.

I am so happy with the care Mum has received at Cranford Grange Care Home. She was just in for respite after discharge from hospital but I wouldn't hesitate to book her in in the future if needed. The staff have been excellent from the first day I made contact, to the viewing and information and the
actual respite stay. Although all Mum really wanted to do was come home, she did settle and we could not have found a better place for her care.
For anyone who is struggling with the idea of care for an elderly person, I would urge them to view this care home. It is exactly as it shows in the brochure. More posh hotel than care facility! There are also specialist nursing staff to help with people who require extra help with their day-to-day living.

Finding a suitable care home is not an easy task as there is so much to consider at a time when emotions are running high.
Mum moved into Cranford Grange Care Home in September 2022, she was disorientated and distressed. I am delighted to say she has settled in well and now seems calm and relaxed.
This is due in no small part to the staff who are caring and respectful, treating Mum with the dignity and warmth she deserves.

A lovely place within a calm and caring environment. The nursing team's compassion and care were outstanding and the management team supported our family, helping us to navigate through this time of change. The team were honest and kind and treated all with dignity and respect. Would definitely recommend

Cranford Grange Care Home is currently home to both my parents. They have had periods of respite care over the past few years and so we had a good relationship with Cranford Grange before they became permanent residents. I get comfort from knowing that they receive excellent care living together in
lovely surroundings and are treated with dignity. This last point is very important to me as being a great age can provide practical challenges and a threat to dignity. So I am impressed and reassured by the caring and respectful way in which my parents are treated. They love the meals and Dad enjoys being in the bistro and seeing all the activity that goes on there. The family is kept informed of any issues that arise and included fully in creating and amending care plans. Having my parents at Cranford Grange has provided the peace of mind we desperately needed and we love visiting them there.

We couldn’t be happier with the care that my mother has received. She has been in Cranford Grange Care Home for some respite care after having a fall at home. Everyone is very patient and kind with her. She has gained some of her old confidence back and is able to walk without the use of her frame whilst
being here. She’s made friends and has genuinely enjoyed her time here.

I am so grateful to all the staff at Cranford Grange. They have a sometimes very hard, but also very important job to do and they are always there for me to talk to, and consult with. Having a parent in care is really difficult but they have made me feel both at ease and also like part of the family.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.901)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.901) out of 10 for Cranford Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.961 for Cranford Grange is calculated as follows: ( (249 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 257 Ratings = 4.961
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.94 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cranford Grange is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 117 registered maximum number of service users is 23.4. 22 Positive Reviews ÷ 23.4 = 0.94
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
