The Willows provides residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and short-stay care for up to 61 residents in a peaceful gated community in Mobberley, Cheshire.

Overlooking a bowling green and just a short distance from Tatton Park and Knutsford, the home offers a tranquil setting with easy access to local attractions. All bedrooms are en-suite, and the layout is designed to feel like small households, each with its own kitchen, lounge, and dining space to foster connection and comfort.

The grounds feature level-access gardens, raised beds, a lake and wooded area, and spaces for summer fairs, BBQs and wildlife watching. Residents also enjoy feeding ducks by the lake or harvesting apples from the trees. Indoors, the recent refurbishment has added modern comfort while keeping the home’s warm, family feel.

Meals are freshly prepared with seasonal ingredients and resident input. From Sunday roasts to cheese and wine days, every mealtime is an opportunity to gather and enjoy. Baking sessions, international dishes and themed food events add variety throughout the year.

Activities include Armchair Travel Days, Seize the Day experiences, and visits from animals and local schoolchildren. Outings to the Lambing Shed, canal boat trips, and the Seven Sisters Ice Cream Parlour ensure there’s always something to look forward to.

At The Willows, care isn’t just about support, it’s about creating a community where residents thrive. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for residential, nursing, dementia, palliative or short-stay care, the team at The Willows are here to help.

There are no words to describe the staff and management. They are absolutely amazing, human caring, friendly, wonderful and I can keep on going here. Mum has dementia but I know that even though she is in her own little world most of the time, she feels very happy in The Willows. She is in a safe place
and well looked after. She also loves the food! My eternal gratitude goes to all of you! Thanks.

The Willows gave our mum so much dignity, care and love in the last months of her life. We, her family, were taken in and given care and understanding, as part of their family. All the staff are kind and sensitive to the residents and their families. They were able to relieve the stress and anxiety
and support us all so we could just be with Mum.

Although Mum wasn't there long, this was definitely the right and best place for her. The staff were really lovely and caring, attentive to Mum and understanding of our loss. She couldn't have been in a better place. Thank you all.

My relative arrived at the Willow in an extremely poor state of health after an extended stay in hospital, during which he had deteriorated rapidly. His warm welcome at The Willows plus the increased comfort and good food illumined the last days of his life. This was while covid restrictions still precluded
visitors for two whole weeks. The staff were exceptionally kind to him and to me (to me first by phone, then in my final visits). I will not forget this.

Thank you so much for caring for Mum. The staff at The Willows clearly took time to understand Mum and her needs and, as a result, she was able to settle down there and was very happy. The care of the staff was palpable and made us feel that we'd made the right decision about her care.

My Mother-in-Law lived in this home from March 2018 until her death in June 2021. The care provided has been exceptionally good, professional and caring. As a dementia patient, we know that she could often be challenging and difficult, but the carers showed real patience and affection for her, as a
character. And they were hugely sympathetic and supportive of my wife and me, in the last days and when she died.

My mother came to The Willows last July. I knew it has a very good reputation, so was delighted when she was placed here. It is way beyond our expectations. The peace and quiet, the excellent care, the interested and knowledgable staff, the surroundings - we couldn't be happier. We are so impressed.
I'm so happy my mother is at The Willows.

During the five or six years that she has been a resident at The Willows, we have been very happy with the love, care and attention that she has been given. The staff have always shown a great deal of thoughtfulness. She settled in quickly and always enjoyed the varied activities when she was able to
participate. The pastoral and care are outstanding and has provided a great deal of comfort.

My mum has been a resident at The Willows for almost four years; she has advanced dementia. During this time, the staff have been unfailingly kind, caring and helpful. I had been recommended The Willows by a friend from church, and I have done the same. During the pandemic, they have kept the resident
safe and stable, and also kept in touch with relatives, which meant a great deal.

After having stayed myself for several weeks after an operation at a local hospital, I was given wonderful care and support. My husband has been a resident at The Willows for over six years. I and my family are very happy with the loving-kindness he has been given by the nurses and all the carers.

I was very warmly received recently by the nursing staff who confirmed that I could visit my wife after several months, in her room at The Willows. They equipped me with the appropriate PPE apron, adding a welcome cup of coffee.
My wife seemed sleepy but I think she was enjoying some radio music.
I hope to make other visits, particularly because my wife's birthday anniversary (her 90th) was coming nearer in December. After such a lengthy lockdown my visit was most enjoyable. Warm thanks for the occasion.

My Mum has been a resident at The Willows since August 2018. It was a huge decision to put my Mum into a residential home and I was unfortunately left with no other option due to the deterioration of her condition. I visited many homes before finding The Willows but I’m so relieved that I found it because
from my first visit I knew it was the best place for my Mum. The staff are all remarkable and with their care have managed to prolong her life expectancy and helped her to defeat all the odds. They have done this with the utmost dignity at all times and always go the extra mile for their residents and relatives. I have complete peace of mind when I am not with my Mum and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.724)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.724) out of 10 for The Willows Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.724 for The Willows Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (228 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 294 Ratings = 4.724
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Willows Nursing Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
