The Cornmill Nursing Home is set in beautiful surroundings and provides first-class nursing and care services. The rooms are beautifully furnished and there are lots of little personal touches which do help the Cornmill to be a genuine home from home. Friends and relatives are made very welcome and encouraged to join in the many varied activities. My late husband suffered from Parkinson's disease and was very severely disabled. He could do very little for himself. I knew that he was safe and happy in high-class surroundings. This was a great comfort to me during his illness and I received wonderful support from the Cornmill Nursing Home.
Very many thanks for your most kind and appreciative comments and for taking the time to complete our surveys. I shall convey your appreciation to all the staff. We shall all retain many fond memories of your husband's stay at the Cornmill. You are always welcome to pop in whenever passing.
The team and management at Cornmill Nursing Home are caring and professional. My dad was treated with dignity and respect during his time at Cornmill Nursing Home. End of life care was provided with the utmost care and respect. My dad was cared for with amazing care provided by amazing staff especially in the weeks prior and at death.
Thank you for your appreciative comments which I will pass on to all staff. We shall all retain many fond memories of your fathers stay at the Cornmill.
We chose the Cornmill Nursing Home for my wife after some research and we were not disappointed. The home even laid on a meal for several of us on my wife's birthday.
Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your wife's birthday celebrations.
My uncle received first class care during his short stay at the end of his life.
Thank you for your review, I am extremely pleased you thought the care received was first class. It is a shame your Uncle was not with us for a longer period.
All I can say it was very good. But expensive.
Thank you for your review. We do maintain strict controls on our expenditure and we continue to invest in upgrading the fabric, equipment and facilities we provide for our residents. Please be assured that every effort is made to keep fees as low as possible whilst providing the highest quality of nursing care.
Cornmill Nursing Home is a lovely place. Picturesque building and very pretty location. Inside it is spotlessly clean, well-maintained, peaceful and homely. The staff are wonderful, they can't do enough for you and food looks delicious. Sadly my mother was only a resident here for a few weeks. I had hoped that she would have enjoyed her last few years here but her illness quickly took over.
I would recommend Cornmill Nursing Home to anyone without hesitation.
Thank you for your kind comments. The staff are always most appreciative of thanks from a resident's family. I will pass your praise onto them.
The treatment and care she was given in the Cornmill was second to none. She was almost treated as family by the staff, many of whom were deeply upset by her passing.
If only all care homes were run like the Cornmill.
Thank you so much for your positive review of the Cornmill. We do place much emphasis on ensuring our staff provide a person centred caring service for our residents. We shall all retain many fond and treasured memories of your mother's stay at the Cornmill.
I am confident that my husband is well cared for. I know he has a good relationship with staff especially those members of staff who provide his nursing care.
Throughout the difficult aftermath of flooding in November 2015 the owners have done their level best to ensure that it was "business as usual" and they are to be commended for their resolution in the face of such difficulties.
His sense of humour has returned and he feels very comfortable in the very clean and pleasant environment. He has recently had a downturn in his condition, the staff have reacted promptly and will always find time to discuss aspects of care with relatives, if asked. My father's siblings visit and again they think The Cornmill is a very caring home in a wonderful setting.
Both my parents have been resident at the Cornmill for intermittent periods from January 2016. Throughout they have been cared for in the highest professional manner and also with real concern and kindness. Recently my father returned for end of life care before his death. During this time I was kept fully informed and encouraged to spend time with him. After his death the family were supported well and given useful practical help. My mother is currently a resident and I have complete peace of mind that she is safe and being cared for in the best possible way. Whilst all the staff have been good at caring for my parents I would like to especially praise the Matron for the exceptional help and support she has given to my parents and the family.
Very many thanks for your positive comments. They are much appreciated by everyone at the Cornmill.
My mother has been in The Cornmill for four years, during this time mum's needs have changed a great deal. Whatever her needs they have always been fully understood and met by staff and facilities at The Cornmill. Mum has been comfortable, happy and content during her stay, and I have been able to resume a more normal life style feeling confident that mum is well looked after.
Thank you for your very many positive compliments. They are very much appreciated.
Of all the homes for Mum that we visited Cornmill is far and away the best. The accommodation is excellent and the food, very important for Mum, is of a very high standard. We appreciate the entertainment and activities provided to stimulate the residents. Mum knows she is very lucky to have a room there and we are very fortunate that the nursing care takes away all our worries about her health.
Many thanks for your kind comments. I will ensure staff are aware of your appreciation.
One word FANTASTIC! This is a real home from home where the needs of the residents are of the utmost importance. Nothing is too much trouble and family members are also supported. My Uncle is happy and safe and I know that he is getting the best care possible. The staff are amazing and the Matron and Manager are always available.
Thank you for the detailed and reassuring comments. They are very much welcome and I will certainly inform the staff of your appreciation.
