My experience of White Ash Brook has been a very pleasant experience. My mother had been accessing White Ash Brook for many years and since new management (2019) took over the care, the overall service has been fantastic. All the staff I was involved with were extremely professional and the care my mother got was second to none. The manager was so compassionate with me and nothing was too much trouble for her.

I was very impressed with the activities my mother was engaged with which helped her mobility and mental health. I felt that my mother was well looked after, happy and safe which was a big relief for myself.

I ring my friend every week since September 2020 and she loves it here. Every conversation we have is always about me asking if she likes it here and the answer is always yes. She's settled in very well with the help of the wonderful and friendly staff that you all are to me and my friend. I can see all the residents are happy here too as I see how they are with the staff. I could not fault it in any way. Keep up the good work.

My grandmother has recently moved to White Ash Brook. We were really nervous as a family, as we have always cared for my grandmother. I can honestly say it's a home from home, nothing is ever too much. We receive regular updates and the manager gives us input and updates on the home. The staff are wonderful and my grandmother says the food is beautiful. Wonderful home and very caring. We cannot recommend it enough. Thank you for keeping my grandmother safe.

My Mum was a resident on the Dementia Unit in White Ash Brook Care Home for a few months until she passed away in May 2020. Despite the relatively short period of time Mum was there, I felt confident from day one, that this was the best place to meet Mum's needs. This was not a choice made lightly, having experienced worries around Mum's care when she was a resident in a previous Care Home. From the moment the staff at White Ash Brook met Mum right up until the day she passed away, everyone treated her with compassion, dignity and a genuine love. Whenever I visited, (always unannounced), staff were busy engaging meaningfully with the residents. They always had time to talk to me about my Mum's well-being and Mum herself always looked well cared for and happy. Staff at White Ash Brook also care about the welfare of the family of their residents and I would recommend them to anyone seeking tender, loving care for their family member.

When I came to look around White Ash Brook in February 2018 I had already been to look around another one which I wasn't really keen on but as soon as I came here I was impressed by first, the cleanliness and was pleased to see wooden floors. The atmosphere was good, the residents that I saw seemed content and clean and well cared for. So it was an instant, yes and I knew my dad would be well looked after.

White Ash Brook Care Home is such a lovely place for residents. It has a very homely atmosphere and visitors feel welcome at any time. Standards are amazing both in cleanliness and caring terms. My mam is looked after exceptionally well, she is happy and cared for. Relatives are kept up to date with everything that is going on and the staff are absolutely amazing.

My father was in White Ash Brook from August 2018 to his death in April 2019. During that time he had exemplary care from the staff who always treated him with respect dignity and kindness. As a family, we could not have wished for a better place to care for him, and can find no fault with the home or its staff.

The place was clean and tidy, the residents were always dressed and looked after and all the staff (from cleaners to managers) clearly cared for the residents and their visitors.

I cannot recommend the place highly enough and would have no hesitation in advising someone to look at the home for a member of their family.

For a resident suffering dementia, old age wanting long-term care, the home was excellent. It was clean, tidy - rooms were nicely decorated, activities are done for the residents. The staff promote a homely atmosphere for the residents. For a resident needing rehabilitation following a fall or surgery, it was not good - as no regular regime for physio exercises are encouraged or even done with a resident. Equipment to move such a resident takes far too long for it to be ordered - so residents feel trapped in the room - as not able to leave it without equipment.

Greeted with warmth and very welcoming smile. I had no appointment and turned up at tea time! Met with the manager but two members of staff asked if I was Ok and if they could get me a drink (very warm day). The place is inviting. Clean and the staff have always got a smile and hello for everyone. Dad has settled very quickly and is very happy which is due to predominately the staff but nice surroundings as well.

Tha manager and all the staff made a very difficult decision extremely easy. So supportive, very proud of the services they offer and I found them to be professional but so friendly. Gran settled straight away, no "demand" was too much trouble. Very family orientated service. Staff work very hard to provide high standards of care. Would recommend (and already have) to anyone.

Marie Barnes
Marie BarnesJob Title Registered Home ManagerJoined 2023

My name is Marie, Manager at White Ash Brook. I started my journey in health care when I was just 22 years old, and from that first role, I knew I was never going to do anything else other than work within the sector.

I began working in the community going to peoples' houses, helping them with all their needs. This lasted for many years, and I really enjoyed it but I realised if I wanted to make more of a difference, I would be better placed inside a care home, being able to learn from more experienced carers. This gave me great insight into what path I wanted to take.

After many years of experience, I decided it was time to gain my qualifications. After I gained all my NQS and management qualifications, I was promoted from being a senior to care co-ordinator, before landing my first role as a Registered Manager.

With many years of experience behind me, I am now delighted to be working here at White Ash Brook, where we promote independence and well-being through our vast range of activities such as gardening, exercise, days out in the community and more.

It’s all about putting people first, and we offer ongoing training and development opportunities for our team to make sure they always provide the very highest levels of care. We are always open for a brew and a chat as we feel it's not just about who we support, it's also about involving the community.
