The care my dad has received since moving into Green Park in July 2023 has been excellent.

Each and every member of staff demonstrates a caring and personal approach to my dad and all of the family members who come to visit... Thank you.

My father-in-law has been cared for at Green Park since July 2023. I have been really encouraged to see the level of care that he receives, it is clear to see that he is well looked after from the cleanliness of his room and surroundings to the compassionate way he is treated by the staff. This has really helped to give peace of mind to all the family that the decision made to put him in care was the right one.

Thank you for your lovely review. Taking the decision for someone to move into care is one of the hardest things a family ever has to do. Your review will help those who are going through that. I feel I need to write an honest review of the unit my husband is on Kensington Unit it’s a very challenging dementia unit the nursing staff work to a very high standard of care and are always professional in their manner and managed the unit well. The care staff are fantastic in dealing with residents they are kind and treat them with respect at all times I would also like to mention the activities team who are enthusiastic and work extremely hard and engage with the residents really well bringing music days and creativity activities which meet all the residents needs. I also have to say that the kitchen staff laundry staff and domestic and maintenance people are always extremely good and happy to help in any way they can. As for the manager and deputy manager they are always out and about on the different units always approachable to speak to about anything that may need addressing and will always get back to you to answer your questions he gets excellent care and attention.

My lovely mum passed away in January. I had to send this review to share our experience as the dignity and respect that was given to her daily and at her end of life was above and beyond. As a family, we would like to thank all the staff, especially management for their professionalism, empathy, and care they provided for all of us during and after this very difficult and sad time. The management encouraged feedback regularly both good and areas of improvement, acted upon this, followed up with relatives and residents, and consistently provided a caring, loving, family environment to all of the residents, their families, and their staff. Management, nurses, carers, kitchen, domestic, maintenance, and activity workers showed care, comfort, and kindness to my mum and my dad who visited daily and we as a family are thrilled to hear that Greenpark Nursing Home will be “The forever home” dedicated to nursing for Dementia residents.” Thank you all for being part of our journey.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Appalling leadership and management from the home manager and deputy. Complaints are not addressed or actioned, care standards are at times beyond poor. Only a couple of carers actually show they care. The kitchen/dining area is dirty. Lack of basic equipment, hand towels etc. Food plain, boring, unappetising and never enough sent. Avoid this home in my opinion.

Dear AT, we are sorry that you are disappointed in our decision to close the Balmoral community at Green Park and that you feel our standards were lower than we would expect. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will feedback to the team and ensure any remedial action that is required is taken.

First off there are some lovely carers here and the activity girls are amazing. However, this is overshadowed by the appalling management at this facility. Firstly my mother was moved to a different unit and the way the move was handled by management was disrespectful, to say the least. In the following months we have been ignored by management regarding care concerns. The icing on the cake was a resident meeting where we were basically informed that my mum and the majority of residents in Balmoral were being evicted. There were numerous discrepancies in the reasons why but basically it was a business decision. The way this has been handled is cold, callous and completely disrespectful and residents have not been treated with the dignity a respect that they deserve. Thankfully we managed to find an alternative facility and in all honesty cannot believe the difference. Management needs to learn a thing or two about professionalism within the care sector and basic human decency.

My mother was given notice to move out at the end of March however she needed hospital care, needing her to be admitted. They terminated her contract 2 weeks early making her homeless. Shocking behaviour from a care home.

Absolutely appalled to find out the community on Balmoral Unit are all being evicted. The home manager referred to all family members as bed blockers, duty of care is nonexistent. They say they are working with family members. All I've heard is my Mum had a missed dose of insulin. My mum is very poorly, aorta aneurysm which has bulged out further. The move and stress of having to move what she thought was her home will not be good. I've also heard another unit may well close once the Balmoral unit has been renovated. I wouldn't trust these, there were only two carers who did care for my mum, I can't fault them (not the home manager) and I bet this review will not be posted.

My Mum came to Green Park on end-of-life care. She had been in hospital for a month and it was noisy, busy and limited visiting. I asked for a quiet, comfortable and peaceful place for her family to be with her. Green Park was the perfect place. Mum’s room was beautifully decorated, clean and peaceful. All the staff were excellent, caring and compassionate. All of Mum's needs were met and we were always made welcome and encouraged to visit. During the last 2 weeks of Mum’s life, we were allowed to be with her as much as we wanted to and Mum was kept very comfortable and her pain was monitored at all times. Mum passed away peacefully with us all by her side. I cannot thank everyone at Green Park enough for all the care and compassion they gave to Mum and all the family.

Staff at Greenpark go over and above to offer the best care they can. They are keen to offer a variety of activities and environments to suit individual needs. You are kept well informed about any changes in their health or what activities they have been up to. Staff always have time to chat with you.

Don’t be put off by the tired-looking reception as they are trying to improve outdoor spaces and areas. The staff make up for it with their caring, friendly and professional attitudes. My Dad has settled in well since arriving in March 2023.

My dad was cared for from February 2023 until he passed away on the 21st of May 2023. During his short time at Green Park Nursing Home the staff genuinely looked after him with such kindness. He was well-liked by them all and the family cannot thank them enough for the way they made his last weeks as comfortable as possible by looking after dad and all the family. Would recommend Green Park Nursing Home highly. Thanks.

I cannot praise Green Park Nursing Home highly enough. They looked after my Mum for eighteen months after she was admitted due to Alzheimer’s Disease. They took fantastic care of her until she passed away with dignity and peace at the very end of 2022. Unfortunately, my dad was critically ill in hospital at the time she passed away. We managed to get him out of the hospital and into Green Park for the last five weeks of his life until he too passed away.
Knowing the care my mum had received, I was grateful for my dad to spend his last days somewhere I knew he too would be so well looked after.

The staff show the greatest compassion for the residents they look after. But I also need to mention how kind and supportive they were to myself, my brother and my sister-in-law, especially during the very darkest and hardest of times. Our family are so grateful to the GP team.

Amazing care! It’s a worrying time leaving your vulnerable loved one in the hands of strangers. Green Park is a wonderful care home that put the residents' health and well-being on top of the list. I can turn up at any time of the day (Covid permitting) and my dad is always washed, dressed and looking relaxed and everywhere is nice and clean. I have, on a number of occasions, arrived at lunchtime and the food looks lovely with a good variety on offer and is always warm. They are always organising events and doing activities with the residents. My dad has been at the home for more than two years and the care has been consistent and the staff have always got time to talk and take on any concerns or worries you may have. This is a long review but my dad was in another care home before this one and the review for that home would not be the same I’m afraid. Thank you for the safe warm home you provide for our dad it is much appreciated!

My mother moved to Green Park after a stay in hospital. She had been very poorly with a chest and UT infection and it had caused her to become more confused, this confusion had led to a fall which knocked her confidence and impaired her mobility. She received such a warm welcome and settled in there really well. The staff are lovely, helpful and considerate and the level of care is second to none.

Our dad has been a resident at Green Park for over two years. The care he receives is beyond excellent. There are always activities going on and relatives are kept up to date with photos of what they have been involved with. It is so reassuring to know that the staff care very much about all residents and this helps to alleviate any worries that family can have particularly with what has happened during the pandemic.

My wife has been a resident for nine months and in that time she has been treated as if she is the only person the staff have to care for.
To refer to these people, mostly young, as staff is an unfair description. What they do and the spirit in which they do it is remarkable and ministering angels would be a more apt description of them.

The accommodation is good and communication excellent.
