The home itself is pleasant and comfortable. Everywhere is cleaned daily. I've been very happy here. The staff are efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They get to know everyone and treat them as individuals, which is important. The department I've been staying in over the last few months is faultless in my opinion. I would recommend it to everyone.

The staff are excellent; they always have time for you. Good variety of meals which I enjoy, not too keen on fish on a Friday, but can't complain.

I wish to thank the staff of Highstone Mews for all the love, compassion and kindness that they have shown towards my mother in the eight years that she has spent at this care home. They treated her in much the same way that they would treat one of their own family members. They always ensured that her dignity was maintained. I also appreciate the support I received in her final days.

My mother who is 95 was admitted to the rehabilitation section of this home on the 6th of May, after falling and breaking her arm. My mother has nothing but the highest praise for both the establishment and all the staff. She told me the staff were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble. She says she was looked after with care and dignity, the meals were wonderful and varied. The care of the staff has obviously gone a long way to enable her to be released to her home address on the 23rd June along with a care and physiotherapy plan being put in place. Whenever I rang to speak to her the staff were always jovial, pleasant and helpful. This home is an absolute credit compared to the horror stories relating to care homes, many of which should take a leaf out of their book.

My mother loved being here. The staff were terrific with her and totally understood her "Yorkshire" sense of humour. She wasn't always easy and could be very stubborn but she was jollied along. She was at Highstone Mews at various points in the last year. She regarded staff as members of her extended family. She shared their stories as they shared hers which gave her a sense of belonging. After being in hospital her return to Highstone was nearly as good as if she had got back to her own home. She made as much progress as she could and didn't want to leave.

My mother has only been in a few days so don't think I can give a very good assessment, but as for the chat I've seen so far it seems a very good establishment with plenty of helpful staff. Hopefully what I have seen so far will continue.

It’s something you never think that you will have to do, placing your Mum into care - but the comfort and reassurance I have since she has moved into Highstone is massive.
She is treated with dignity and care, is safe and secure, well-fed and receives great interaction from a caring team.

I highly endorse this care home for dementia suffering elderly care.

Every time we enter the building, we are met with a very warm, welcoming atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly and all past the time of day.
The rooms are very clean, although could do with decorating (but this is a little minor). The care the staff have given; has been very good.
Water is always available, and tea is served throughout the day. Meals are very nice I have been told, apart from the fish on Friday's. Plenty of activities for the services users to join in with.
Overall, I think Highstane Mews is a well-managed home, and I would not have second thoughts to recommend the home to anyone needing this service.

Thank you for everything you have done for my friend.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They are helpful and have settled my mum in very well both the managers are approachable and helpful.

The care home is clean and has no unpleasant smell of urine which assures me that all the residents are properly cared for. I was apprehensive at first, due to past reports however, this care home has now been turned around completely. Fantastic.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere has a family feel about it, staff interact with residents as if they have known them years.

Treating them as a good friend. They are busy and nothing is too much trouble. Someone is always around to speak to. The management have made this home outstanding in my eyes. The hard work and dedication is evident throughout.

Overall Experience

Both my parents had to go into Highstone Mews together, it was a difficult time for them and us, but staff went above their duties to help them settle. Mum and Dad were well cared for, we knew they were safe and anything they wanted they could have. We visited daily so we were there a lot. I can honestly say all the staff including office staff, cleaners and managers had a genuine bond with both my parents and looked after them amazingly and they helped us as a family too when we found things difficult. Both my parents passed away in the home (which was our wish) and the care and dignity they received up until the end was first class. Thank you to you all, but especially senior carers and all the care staff.

My Mother has been in Highstone Mews for the past 4 years and since the new management came things have even improved more. All the staff are so helpful and I know I can contact them at any time day or night. I am very happy with my Mother's care and if there is a problem they always get in touch with me.

We moved my wife to this care home from another care home (very poor treatment)! Been very happy with my wife's care at this care home, well looked after and treated with dignity. We have to travel to see her but I think she is very well looked after here and all staff are very kind and considerate. (Super staff) I feel it is as good as you can wish for.

We have had considerable difficulty placing our Mum in a suitable care home but Highstone Mews was willing to admit her and their care, staff and general support has been fantastic, from admission onwards. Mum is now settled, had a full medication review and is coming along nicely. It is a pleasure to visit the home, the welcome fabulous and the staff amazing!!
