Never having been in a care home as a resident, I did not know what to expect. My impression was very favourable. The staff were very kind and understanding and I felt safe and cared for.

My mother came into Highstone Mews again for a long weekend. Whilst staying, staff noticed my mother wasn't well, they acted instantly getting her the care she needed. They kept me in the loop the whole time.

I am very grateful for what they did for my mother.

My nan stayed at Highstone Mews for a week, we never thought she would go in a home but she absolutely loved it, she said the rooms were nicely decorated and the staff always went that extra mile for her and the other residents. The meals were lovely. She is booked in again for a week.

The establishment was clean, care given was to a high standard and my mother was happy. Her room was slightly furnished with enough space for her belongings and she could talk to staff on a 1:1 level when wished.

Although there were activities, she was not able to take part due to her condition so staff came in to give her support when the family could not get in.

My mother was recuperating well and initially enjoying her time at this residence. Her illness meant she could not get out of bed and so staff helped as much as possible when my brothers and sisters were not around. They knew when she was not feeling right and talked to her directly with care levels not available at other places.

When Highstone Mews was owned by the previous managers I was very disappointed with the way the home was being run and how the residents were being cared for and lack of training for the staff but now the new managers have taken over I am starting to see improvements in everything I was recently disappointed in. Keep up the good work.

Removed my sister from a very unsuitable care home. Popped into Highstone Mews without an appointment and was very impressed. Lovely caring staff, very clean and the manager is very helpful and understanding and kind. He helped arranged the transfer. I know my sister will be happy in Highstone Mews. My sister's face lit up when we took her into the reception area. Thank you to the staff and manager at Highstone Mews.

Overall Experience
My Nan is currently living at Highstones Mews after several moves due to other care homes not been able to manage her dementia.
I have to say that after only one month she is completely settled and her agitation has reduced significantly. The staff are lovely and have taken the time to understand what my Nan's needs are. The manager is fantastic and always stops to have a catch up about her progress, he genuinely knows the residents. The home has undergone significant changes both in the terms of processes and environment and I cannot fault the new direction in any way - Keep it up!!.
The new management have updated the care home with the resident in mind and have ensured there is stimulation, there is a sensory room and regular entertainment.
Rooms are lovely and always clean, meals are balanced and homemade.

I would like to thank the staff for giving me the peace of mind that my Nan is cared for and settled at last!

Since this Care Home Service has taken over I can only say that in the short time it has been here, the whole field of services has changed 100% The first thing they did was to get rid of all the bad apples and replace them with a new set of more caring and more sensitive staff. The cleanliness and the food has excelled 100% too. I now cannot fault them with one single thing. The new management are efficient, understanding, helpful and very quick to react to any complaints that may be made.

All levels have been greatly improved as in care communication and general running of the home. I am very impressed by the overall outcome. Six months ago this was a ver different story.
