Water Royd House Nursing Home

For the first time in a long while, I can relax and feel confident that my husband is safe and well cared for. The staff are very friendly and obliging and make the place feel like a home from home. My husband is encouraged to participate in all activities, but never forced to do so. He is not a good mixer and does need that extra encouragement. The standard of care is very good as is the cleanliness of the home in general. A welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Staff and management are very friendly and welcoming. Staff are very good at keeping us informed. Food is good - variation of meals. Good assortment of varied activities which my family and I often join in with. Rooms are well kept and clean. Mum is well looked after and has her hair done weekly. Sincere thanks to everyone.

Absolutely excellent in every possible way. The staff were brilliant all of them. So polite, friendly and genuinely caring. My husband felt safe and properly looked after from the moment he went into the home. He started to improve in his health from the moment he went in. I cannot recommend this care home enough, it really is brilliant.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Water Royd House Nursing Home to anyone looking for a home which provides superb care for their relative, a home which has a permanent staff who are so personable and who work so effectively to ensure that each resident is cared for very well. My husband has been a resident for over three years and I am satisfied that he is well looked after, kept clean and comfortable, provided with suitable entertainment and is as happy as he can be, given that he is now in the latter part of his life. This is a home which is well managed, which is full of caring people who do a superb caring job.

Carers and management very good; good with residents, polite, helpful and friendly.

All members of staff from management to the housekeeping and maintenance spend time with all residents, speaking to them with respect and friendship.

Mum has been in Water Royd since June 2024, the care Mum has received from all the staff has been outstanding. Mum has been cared for with kindness, dignity and respect.

Moving Mum into permanent care was heartbreaking for all the family, Mum has advanced dementia, she became agitated, frightened and very distressed most of the time, now she has constant reassurance and expert care which means Mum is content and importantly, feels safe.

Mum is always lovely and clean, and dressed in matching clothes, clearly Mum's dignity is important to the staff. All the staff are friendly and approachable, they always have time to listen to any concerns, and answer any questions with kindness and care. The laundry and cleaning staff do a great job, and the food is excellent. All the staff talk to Mum with kindness and respect.

Water Royd is like a family home, the care is outstanding, we can't say thank you enough for caring for Mum with such care, kindness and compassion.

Water Royd is very well managed by the manager and deputy manager. The care and support they and all their staff give to residents is excellent. All of their staff are very kind, friendly and very caring. I cannot thank them enough for the outstanding care they give. I highly recommend Water Royd to anyone who wants a first-class, caring and supportive home for their loved ones.

Since coming to Water Royd from a neuro rehabilitation unit my husband has improved immensely. This is due to the commitment of the staff. Who have listened to my concerns regarding his health and have acted accordingly. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. They always seem to be smiling and are really kind to all the clients on my husband's corridor. The atmosphere in the home is a very happy one. The food is very good and my husband has put weight on since coming here after being underweight. Well done to all the staff.

My mam has been in there since October 2023. She says all the staff are very kind and good to her.

The care given to my husband is always one of care and dignity. Also, the support shown to us, as a family, is always compassionate. All at Water Royd House Nursing Home contribute to making this horrible journey of ours tolerable.

In spite of my partner not waiting to be in a care home, he is well cared for. I see him most days and although his illness causes mood swings, the drug regime stabilises him. We are disappointed that room refurbishment is taking years, now looking shabby in comparison to other homes, especially considering the fees. Staff shortages are sometimes a problem. Overall good.

My father went into Water Royd in August 2023. This move was hard for both my father and me, his daughter. Emotions were high and we were both very scared and upset. The management and staff at Water Royd were fabulous. They were caring and loving from the first day and showed obvious care for my father throughout his stay. They made what was a difficult circumstance a very bearable experience for both of us. They made me feel extremely welcome on all visits and the communication when I was not there was excellent. I cannot thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone wanting first-class care. Thank you, I will never forget.

Both Mum and Dad are very comfortable and happy to be here.

A big thanks to everyone who works in the home

Mum has been in Water Royd since February, the care she receives is outstanding in every way. Everyone is treated with respect and dignity, a fabulous lifestyle team who entertains.

Put Mum into respite to see how she likes it, never done it before, but my husband and I want her safe while we have a holiday later in the year. She said she had really enjoyed it, all the staff were wonderful, and she couldn't thank them enough. Enjoyed the meals and really enjoyed the entertainment. She said it was really nice to have some company. We know when she goes in again that she will be well looked after, and we won't have to worry about her when we go away. A big well done, and thank you to all staff.

We were so pleased to find our mum a nursing home where we feel she is safe and looked after. So far staff made mum feel welcome from the beginning, have lots of care and compassion. Water Royd House Nursing Home have also made my Dad feel welcome and have been very accommodating to us as a family. After a previous bad experience for Mum in a care home, Water Royd has been our security blanket, and we cannot thank them enough
