The home is trying desperately to overcome all the downsides of Covid when they were unable to entertain the residents to the previous levels. They are constantly reviewing everything in the home, from the environment to meals and staffing, for the benefit of the residents to give them the best living experience possible.

My grandma moved here after previously staying in a home that did not care for her properly. Her health had declined, and she needed nursing care. My grandma had not spoken to us for six-plus months and no longer recognised us. Two months later, with the care she has received and the care she deserves, she is a different person! The best she has been in a very long time and talks to not only us but the staff too, which speaks for itself! Staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, and my grandma is happy! We can't thank the staff enough for their support and care. Thank you for giving me my grandma back.

When my mum left the previous care home, she no longer recognised me and had stopped talking. Due to the excellent care provided here, she has improved greatly. Staff are lovely, friendly and caring, and we can't praise them enough. The management team are always available if needed and discuss any concerns you may have and resolve them quickly or offer a full explanation so that you feel happy and content that your loved ones are safe and cared for.

Despite being shorthanded, the staff are excellent. It does require more staff before they burn out. Once again, staffing shortages in the kitchen department create issues around tea time and supper time choices and lunchtime options.

I can't review Mum's room as, under Covid restrictions, I am not able to visit in Mum's room. Since moving to Water Royd my mum is happy and settled. The food is excellent as are the activities. The staff are always happy, friendly, kind and helpful. I only have one negative comment and that is sometimes Mum is dressed in items of clothing that are not hers. Other than that, so far, I have found my overall experience of Water Royd to be excellent.

Mum has been cared for by Water Royd House since May 2019. She has received excellent treatment and attention. Despite all the complications the Covid pandemic has brought I have had regular contact and updates on Mum's well-being and can see she is happy and content in her surroundings. Well done to all the staff and a big thank you.

I feel my husband has been well cared for and seems quite content. The staff are very friendly and caring. Any request has been attended to. The food is good and plentiful. It was so very hard not to see him for long periods during Covid. Sadly, we are back in that position again.

Lovely, kind and thoughtful staff who help Mum on a daily basis, we haven't seen her room due to Covid restrictions so can't comment on this. Mum's clothes and belongings often go missing. Would be nice to visit her in private in her own room, also I think activities are restricted due to Covid. The staff always keep us up to date with any health issues and have put measures in place to stop her falling - would like to thank the staff for their kindness.

Mum recently had two weeks respite here. She was unsure and anxious about going in. She has had excellent care including an unplanned visit to the doctor. The staff treated Mum with dignity and kept me informed at every stage. It has been a weight off of my shoulders!

Only had limited access as my parents entered Water Royd during the pandemic. So far I have not seen their rooms but everything I have seen is great. Lots of activities to help keep their minds active and the afternoon teas look well lush. All staff, management and activities staff are worth their weight in gold. Keep up the good work and thanks.

Due to Covid restrictions, my experience of Water Royd House Nursing Home is slightly limited, but I find the staff are all very caring and helpful to both my wife and myself. I have the utmost faith in the standard of care provided and the standard of the buildings and grounds. I feel my wife is in very capable hands. I cannot comment on two things; rooms -never seen one, value for money - funded.

During the most serious and disturbing time of certainly my lifetime, my wife has been cared for with the most loving tenderness I could ever wish for, equally so for me. I have been lept regularly informed of my wife wellbeing. On all occasions, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine's Day cards with absolute beautiful verses have been forwarded on my wife's behalf to me. From top to bottom, all the staff are so caring, loving and show so much affection not only to my wife but to all.

My mum has been in the home for a number of years. We have found the care and support she receives to be of an overall excellent standard. It has been difficult during the COVID situation to thoroughly cover all aspects of care however mum has remained stable and appears happy. The staff are to be commended for their hard work and cheerfulness during this difficult time.
