My father who has dementia moved into The Abbeys Care Home three weeks ago and he was very distressed and unhappy to have to go. My visit to him today found him to be very relaxed, looking very well, and much more settled. The staff are very helpful and are willing to answer any questions and seem to
care a lot about the residents' welfare.

My auntie was only at The Abbeys a few months before her death at 99 years old. The care given to her was respectful and loving, she was a quiet lady and they understood that. The staff also looked after the family when we visited Auntie. The day Auntie passed away the staff looked after Auntie and
the family with love and dignity. I would recommend The Abbeys if you are looking for care for a loved one.

My wife has been cared for by you for the last 6 years now. During that time I can see that she has enjoyed the best care I could have wished for.
The staff at The Abbeys are second to none, each and every one of them demonstrates such care, consideration, humility and genuine dedication to each resident.
I am very very lucky and grateful that I chose The Abbeys to take care of her. This lace deserves every accolade possible, the whole staff are absolutely first-class.

Left my mum in The Abbeys from 3.11.23 to 19.11.20 for respite care, whilst I and my husband went away.
I always feel guilty when I leave her, but the staff are amazing with her. Knowing my mum is happy and looked after whilst I'm away is a godsend for me, and I settle knowing this.
Many thanks
to all the care staff.

A massive thank you to the staff at Abbeys Nursing Home for the care they provided for my mum who sadly passed away recently. I felt at ease after each visit to the home knowing that my mum was safe and being well looked after by the amazing staff. The staff are so friendly and really do care. The home
provides excellent entertainment and activities for the residents who enjoy being involved. I simply could not recommend a better nursing home.

The care home has a welcoming and homely feel, the cleanliness is at a high standard, it always smells clean. The staff are friendly and supportive, they have recently had a few events on for the residents such as singers and coffee mornings etc... I think it’s lovely that they do these on a regular
basis, it’s nice to socialise with other residents and their families.

Always a warm welcome from all staff at The Abbeys Care Home. Mum has been a resident here for many years and has always been very well looked after. Staff go above and beyond in their duty of care to Mum. We are kept well informed about mum's care and staff are always more than happy to answer any
questions we may have. The Abbeys has a friendly and warm atmosphere and the staff are a credit to the company.

I must say that when my mother was diagnosed with onset dementia and that she would no longer be able to remain at home, this was the hardest time for us, having to place Mam in to a residential home, but thanks to the home and the care from the brilliant staff, they have made Mam so welcome and she
is so settled and well cared for. They don't only think about the resident, they also include family and are always there. Staff are very pleasant, polite and welcoming when we visit. Once again, staff at The Abbeys, well done gang, keep up the great work. Many, many thanks for the care that you give my mam and other residents.

What an amazing care home. The new manager of the home and the staff go above and beyond to help the residents. The home feels warm and welcoming with the new decor she has introduced to the home. It feels comforting knowing my relative is in a loving environment, which they now call their home. Thank

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.748)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.748) out of 10 for The Abbeys Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.748 for The Abbeys Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (240 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.748
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Abbeys Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
