My dad had the best people looking after him throughout his stay; I cannot praise them enough! The home is clean and secure. I knew he was in the best place throughout the pandemic. I was always made to feel welcome when I visited my dad, and I was most impressed with how welcome they made his sister whenever she visited. All in all, a wonderful establishment!

Very pleased with Mum's care. We don't worry about her health in this pandemic. Very nice staff but I do wish she could get out of bed more for meals and activities.

My dad went into Moorgate Lodge after having a hip operation. From the day my dad got there, he has been looked after immensely, and I could never thank them enough for all the care they have show Dad and to myself - in my own words, "they are all true angels".

The management and admin staff are always friendly, polite and helpful and always find time to talk to me whenever I have queries about my wife's current condition. The nursing and caring staff are excellent, cheerful and helpful at all times. Due to COVID, I haven't seen much of the facilities but the lounge furniture is tired and needs smarting up.

It was with great regret it was felt that my mum needed 24-hour care. Given this, we have been pleased with the care and treatment she has received. Management along with all the staff have shown us the greatest respect and empathy whilst we go through this last part of mum's life.

I haven’t seen my brother since lockdown. Everyone is tested for Covid and isolated. The home was brilliant at making sure residents are tested for Covid before leaving hospital. The staff have gone over and above when looking after my brother. I can’t recommend this home enough.

We were very satisfied with the care and attention mum received at Moorgate Lodge. The only issue we had was the condition of her room which we felt was in need of a makeover.

My father chose Moorgate Lodge in March 2018 after a visit. He was impressed by the friendly, homely feeling and the large room that would allow him to take a few of his own things. He never looked back, always praised the staff and joined in with some of the activities. We were supported during his end of life care and he passed peacefully and with dignity in June 2020.

Mother-in-law moved in early February.
The manager and staff were very helpful throughout that difficult process lending support and guidance. Once in the home, that care continued, both in their approach to my mother-in-law and in allowing and enabling us to get her settled, to make her surroundings as familiar as possible.
The Virus then started to impact and by the end of February, they were taking action and locked down early March.

We have continued to be in contact via phone and grateful for continued remote support in answering questions and helping mother-in-law to keep in daily contact.

The home and its residents are always spotless and I have been impressed by the fact that never once in my visits have I encountered that stale smell which seems to go with the territory in some other care homes I have visited. It is a credit to the staff that they keep it this way. Staff are kind, caring, friendly and quickly spot any signs of stress or health deterioration, which is not the report one gets from some homes, even ones with high ratings. I trust that situation is prevalent throughout this group. Also good value for money. I have read the full CQC reprot and agree entirely with its findings.

Over the last 14 months, the staff at Moorgate Lodge have cared for my grandmother. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring and compassionate team of staff. The little things meant so much to her and to us, painting her nails, buying dog treats for our pets who my grandmother loved visiting her and even the respect shown as we passed the home in the funeral procession yesterday as they all stood outside and waved their last goodbyes to the woman we loved.

Literally, every one of them took the time and effort to speak to us, update us and to provide the best level of care we could ask for her. So thank you, Moorgate Lodge, from the bottom of my heart.

As a daughter-in-law of a reluctant nursing care service user, I can honestly say - the staff at Moorgate Lodge are AMAZING!! No question of a doubt, the home would have been preferable for parent-in-law, but NOT viable. Staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond. Quality of parent-in-law's life GREATLY improved whilst housed at Moorgate. Care & activities provided were fabulous. Parent-in-law had everything facilitated. Nothing was too much trouble. Parent-in-law was cared for until their last breath in the most beautiful way. My only complaint is there is no ‘staff social fund’ that family members can contribute to! The lodge is a home and the staff treat service users like family yet their approach around visiting family - purely professional (they are a second family to service users - in the BEST possible way). THOROUGHLY recommended. Facilities are great, but the staff make it amazing! THANK YOU for all your care, help and support. From our family to yours.
