We were very satisfied with the care and attention mum received at Moorgate Lodge. The only issue we had was the condition of her room which we felt was in need of a makeover.

My father chose Moorgate Lodge in March 2018 after a visit. He was impressed by the friendly, homely feeling and the large room that would allow him to take a few of his own things. He never looked back, always praised the staff and joined in with some of the activities. We were supported during his
end of life care and he passed peacefully and with dignity in June 2020.

Mother-in-law moved in early February.
The manager and staff were very helpful throughout that difficult process lending support and guidance. Once in the home, that care continued, both in their approach to my mother-in-law and in allowing and enabling us to get her settled, to make her surroundings
as familiar as possible.
The Virus then started to impact and by the end of February, they were taking action and locked down early March.
We have continued to be in contact via phone and grateful for continued remote support in answering questions and helping mother-in-law to keep in daily contact.

The home and its residents are always spotless and I have been impressed by the fact that never once in my visits have I encountered that stale smell which seems to go with the territory in some other care homes I have visited. It is a credit to the staff that they keep it this way. Staff are kind,
caring, friendly and quickly spot any signs of stress or health deterioration, which is not the report one gets from some homes, even ones with high ratings. I trust that situation is prevalent throughout this group. Also good value for money. I have read the full CQC reprot and agree entirely with its findings.

Everything about this home is fantastic, from the manager, staff, support staff, to the building, activities and meals provided. I could not rave enough about how amazing everyone is and the exceptional care that is given to my mum every single day. Thank you, you are all fabulous!

Over the last 14 months, the staff at Moorgate Lodge have cared for my grandmother. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring and compassionate team of staff. The little things meant so much to her and to us, painting her nails, buying dog treats for our pets who my grandmother loved visiting her and
even the respect shown as we passed the home in the funeral procession yesterday as they all stood outside and waved their last goodbyes to the woman we loved.


Literally, every one of them took the time and effort to speak to us, update us and to provide the best level of care we could ask for her. So thank you, Moorgate Lodge, from the bottom of my heart.

As a daughter-in-law of a reluctant nursing care service user, I can honestly say - the staff at Moorgate Lodge are AMAZING!! No question of a doubt, the home would have been preferable for parent-in-law, but NOT viable. Staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond. Quality of parent-in-law's
life GREATLY improved whilst housed at Moorgate. Care & activities provided were fabulous. Parent-in-law had everything facilitated. Nothing was too much trouble. Parent-in-law was cared for until their last breath in the most beautiful way. My only complaint is there is no ‘staff social fund’ that family members can contribute to! The lodge is a home and the staff treat service users like family yet their approach around visiting family - purely professional (they are a second family to service users - in the BEST possible way). THOROUGHLY recommended. Facilities are great, but the staff make it amazing! THANK YOU for all your care, help and support. From our family to yours.

From the first day of residency, she has been treated with care and dignity.
Even though my mum couldn't speak due to having a stroke we knew as a family that she loved the staff.
They all went above and beyond not only to care for my mum

The carers at Moorgate Lodge looked after my Grandad until the day he passed away. Even until he left the doors of Moorgate Lodge the carers made him immaculate and perfectly presented. They continue to do an amazing job for my Grandma.

All the staff are very pleasant, polite and very professional. Nothing is too much trouble. My mums been a resident for 20 months and at no time have I had any reason to worry about my mother's welfare. If any problems do occur they contact you straight away and put you in the picture.

Mum has been at Moorgate Lodge for just over 7 years. Her care during this time has been excellent. I asked mum to help me write this review so these are her words. I feel safe and secure, the people who look after me are lovely. The food is good and there are plenty of activities if you want to do
them. My room is a little bit small but it's ok. Its nice and clean. I like living here.

Lisa is a multi-skilled and highly trained Registered Mental Health Nurse by profession. She brings a plethora of care skills to her role as Nursing Home Manager at Moorgate Lodge and we are indeed lucky to have her. Lisa has built an impressive CV over the years, with both the NHS and the private sector and we are supremely confident that the needs of our clients are very safe in her hands, however challenging they may be. Her insatiable appetite for continuous professional development has served her well, whilst demonstrating the ability to turn around negative situations she has been faced with into positives, a skill set never needed more than in recent times that we all know only too well.
