Staff generally very caring and treat residents with compassion and kindness. Meals are in the dining room with plenty of choice and variety - independence is encouraged.
I would certainly recommend this home to anyone.
The care is always consistent and information is always there to review in a folder.
My mum enjoyed her egg.
Thank you.
Laureate Court is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly, motivated and act in a professional way towards residents and family. It is a safe place for vulnerable adults to live and care standards are high. It feels like dad has been happier and more settled since moving here.
Staff fine. Home good standard. Facilities excellent.
My father was at Laureate Court, Rotherham for the last four months of his life after being in two previous care homes. As soon as entering the building is was welcoming, the reception area was very homely with comfy chairs, pictures on the wall, the manager's door was open so was the receptionist door, we were greeted with a smile and hello. The food was excellent, the activities co-ordinator always encouraged my dad to join in the activities even going to my dad's room to take him to the lounge area where he could join in. My dad was on Shelly Suite, the staff were very caring, hardworking and could not do enough for my dad. They were always smart, polite and attended to my dads every need. Towards the end of my dads life he could not have been treated with any more care and dignity. We stayed day and night with my dad, the staff also took care of us and supported us throughout. If you could choose a place for your loved one to end their life there could not be a better place. Thank you so much.
The home is a big home with three units, all have work being/done on them. The home doesn't smell like some do. Staff work hard and look after the residents really well, they seem to really care for the resident's health and wellbeing. The unit I visited dance with the residents in the lounge and the residents looked like they loved every minute!
Mum has settled in well. Home is clean and well maintained. Carers and nurses are excellent. However, there is a shortage of staff at the moment as several have recently left. I think too much pressure is placed on remaining staff to the point where there are not enough to give the full care that the residents need (eg having to wait to be taken to the toilet). It would be lovely if the home’s minibus could be used every week to actually take residents out. It’s a shame that it sits there week in week out never moving. Perhaps if more staff are employed this would happen. Mum likes it at Laureate Court but does get a bit bored at times. Would be nice if there were more/ different activities available every week. All in all, though it’s one of the best care homes I visited before deciding to place Mum there.
The staff work extremely hard and in my opinion, there are too many residents for the 3-4 carers on each shift. The top floor has 2 lounges and the staff can't be in 2 places at 1 given time. Other care homes have a 'Music Room' where residents can listen to music for their relaxation, dementia patients respond well to music for their ECA. Maybe one lounge could have a music room? NO activities on the top floor to stimulate - only 2 TV's.
I cannot fault the care he received, which was kind, compassionate and tailored to his individual needs. Every single member of staff treated him like family and were equally as gracious to myself and my brother and my father's daughter in law on our frequent visits.
The home was clean, very well run, the food was varied and always offered a choice of meals and would even cater to a specific meal request if at all possible.
All staff, from the cooks to the laundry assistant, care staff to the fabulous unit management team obviously took great pride in the care they were able to offer.
I take great comfort from the fact that my father was so well cared for in his last month's, right up to his very last moments when he sadly passed away. Thank you to the whole unit team.
Some very ordinary daily tasks can be frightening and confusing for some residents which causes distress and staff do all they can to alleviate such stress in a compassionate and reassuring manner.
Residents are treated with care, kindness and respect. The current refurbishment to the building, fixtures and fittings is giving a much needed breath of fresh air.
I have always felt confident that the level of personal care offered is of a high standard and I have recommended Laureate Court Care Home to many other people!
Staff leaving in droves since the new manager has been in charge. This care home is so up and down with the care given, it is unbelievable. My husband has been a resident for 5 1/2 years and 1 year in a residential home. He has had a couple of short spells in hospital but each time returned to the home for which I am pleased. He has been for so long now with dementia although he doesn't even know us family, he seems to connect with the regular carer's voices. He has been confined to bed for the past 18 months so apart from cleaning, feeding, personal care nothing else relates to him - not enough carers to provide proper cover.
We are sorry that this has been the experience of the service at Laureate Court. We value the feedback received from any person involved in, or having contact with the home and truly believe this enables continuous improvement. Our complaint process is currently being followed to enable thorough review of the concerns.
Laureate Court Care Centre provides kind and loving care for my relative. Nothing is too much trouble for the nurses and staff and the management team are always approachable. The food is prepared daily from fresh produce and specialist diets can be catered for. Currently undergoing some redecoration and refurbishment Laureate Court provides a high standard of care for residents at a difficult time of their life.

Meet the Team (5)

I decided to pursue my dream of working in the care sector and have worked in Forensic, ASD and challenging behaviour-based organisations. I then made the decision to move pathways and work within a residential setting. I have been with Runwood Homes since 2021. I started as a Deputy Manager at Rose House and quickly progressed to home manager. I am now the Registered Home Manager for Laureate Court and have been at the home since July 2022.
I have never felt so supported as I do with Runwood Homes; they are not just my work colleagues, it feels like one big family.

Hi, my name is Angie, and I have had the privilege of working in the care industry for the past 13 years across various care settings. Throughout my career, I can honestly say that Laureate Court has been the best place I’ve worked. It truly feels like coming to work with your family every day, and that extends to not only the residents but also their families and the staff. The sense of community and care here is unmatched.
In my personal time, I enjoy walking and running, staying active, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I'm John. I am the Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager at Laureate Court.
I joined Laureate Court 3 years ago as Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager. With 30 years of experience as a nurse, predominantly in the care home sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role. Before my career in healthcare, I worked for 9 years with the Department of Work and Pensions.
What drives me most is spending quality time with the residents and knowing that, no matter how small the act, I’ve made a positive difference in their day. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of their journey and provide care that truly matters.

Hi there! I’m Hannah, and I’m passionate about connecting with people and getting to know their stories. My journey started in the domestic field, where I learnt a lot about care, patience, and attention to detail. Over time, I transitioned into an admin role, where I still get to interact with people and make them feel welcome.
One of my favourite things about my job now is spending time chatting with families and learning about the backgrounds and experiences of the residents. I love hearing their stories and understanding what makes each person unique. It’s so rewarding to build these connections.
Outside of work, I’m all about quality time with my 12-year-old. We have a blast together, especially when we're adding to my growing Lego collection. It’s something we both really enjoy, and it’s a great way for us to bond and get creative. I believe in the importance of both professional and personal growth, and I strive to bring that same energy into everything I do.

I'm Sharon. I'm the Lifestyle Coordinator at Laureate Court.
I have had the privilege of working at Laureate Court for nearly 10 years. My journey began as a care assistant, where I spent 3 years supporting residents. After that, I transitioned to the wellbeing team, a role I’ve been in for the past 7 years.
I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our residents. I thrive on the opportunity to bring joy to someone’s day, and every day presents new challenges and rewards. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a smile on a resident’s face, knowing I’ve contributed to their well-being.
