When I was informed that my father-in-law was being transferred from the hospital to Alpine Lodge I was very dismissal. But to be honest it was the best thing that could have happened to him, he came on leaps and bounds and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and affection provided. Every member of staff is very courteous professional, overall genuinely caring. I am sorry that he had to be relocated due to distance from home and family. Once again thank you from the whole family.

The home is very secure. All staff are friendly and professional and treat everyone with respect. The carers attend immediately, are sympathetic, kind and helpful with whatever needs doing. The home is spotless and warm. Plenty of activities to participate in if needed. Cannot praise the home highly enough. Long-serving staff, many local and all so kind.

I am over here from Canada, visiting my mum who has been here for about a year. I have spent over 2 weeks with her at the home all day so have seen the care Mum receives. Carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, and laundry staff have been so kind to both Mum and me during my stay. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Alpine Lodge has a pleasant and warm environment. My friend has settled in very well here. He particularly likes the food! The staff are always welcoming and helpful. All in all a good experience when I visit my friend. Thank you.

Our welcoming and helpful staff strive to create a good experience for all visitors. If there's anything more we can do, please let us know. We appreciate your trust in Alpine Lodge!
I left a 5 star review when my mother in law first entered Alpine Lodge. However, I wish to change my star rating to 2 as although the building is really nice, we have found the level of care/service to be lacking, especially at weekends. In my opinion, they are seriously understaffed.
Thank you for sharing your concerns about the staffing levels on weekends. I want to assure you that our service uses a dependency tool as a guide for staffing, but we always staff above the recommended levels. If a staff member calls in sick and we cannot cover with our own team, we have a plan to...
Alpine Lodge is a very good care home. All the staff are seemingly kind, caring and helpful. Every question I ask has been answered. It smells clean. They go the extra mile. I am happy to place my sister with Alpine Lodge.
Dear Jenny, many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your sister. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Alpine Lodge family.
My father is in his late 80s, but on the day of going to Alpine, he did;t want to go, but when he got there, all staff were brilliant with him. He had not been eating meals at home but eating everything there. He enjoyed all the chats with the staff. Bedrooms are very spacious, bright and well-decorated.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your dad, and we are delighted at how he has settled in. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass them on to the Alpine family.
I have not put excellent as I think there is always room for improvement. Alpine Lodge staff have looked after my mom, 101 years old, for three years now, they are friendly caring and helpful and I feel confident in their care for Mom. Management has changed a few times over the three years but seems to settled these last few months. They are approachable and caring and friendly. Overall I am pleased with the care Mom has received.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your mum and we are delighted that you have chosen to recognise the improvements that are underway. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Alpine Lodge family.
All the staff are welcoming, very pleasant and happy to chat. This includes the cleaners, office and domestic staff. My sister has settled well and has been supported with whatever she has needed. She has been treated with loving care since her admission. I couldn't ask for more! Wonderful all around. I always feel welcome whatever the day or time.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your sister. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Alpine family.
Alpine Lodge is a lovely care home and very clean. All the staff are lovely people, nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum is very well cared for. It's just a brilliant home, cannot praise them enough.

Mum was in Alpine Lodge for just a few short weeks after transferring from a Nursing Home in Sheffield. The difference between the two homes has restored my faith in human nature. The home is bright, clean and welcoming and the staff are amazing. They actually care about the residents. Mum was shown care, understanding, friendship, compassion and respect and was treated with dignity and gentleness. The food looked delicious and nutritious and if Mum didn't feel like eating staff always found something to tempt her with. Whenever we visited everyone was welcoming and friendly and made time to fill us in on Mum's progress. I would highly recommend Alpine Lodge for anyone looking for a safe and loving place for their elderly relative.
Many thanks for your kind review for Alpine Lodge Care Home.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The building is spotless and the food looks lovely. Would recommend this home to anyone no doubt about it. Dad being looked after very well here.
Thank you for your kind review, the feedback will be passed on to the staff teams.
When leaving Mum after a visit. I feel confident that Mum is in good hands with the staff that look after her. Thank you.

Mum was in a bit of a state and refused to see us., but after the staff had been in, she was quite happy to let us in. The staff were lovely with her, keeping her calm while cleaning the bed after a mishap with her drink.
Dear Pam, many thanks for taking the time to review our home. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will,l of course, pass them on to the manager and the Alpine Lodge colleagues.
Under trying circumstances the staff do very, very, very well. Higher pay, more staff needed.

There was plenty of entertainment at Xmas, which was good.

Alpine Lodge is always clean, bright and warm. Every member of staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good and has adequate portions. No one is forced to go to the dining room if they don't want to. My mum is always encouraged to join in activities, though I know she does not always want to, but staff often chat so she is not left isolated for long periods. I know my mum can be awkward and short-tempered, but the staff always treat her with firmness and compassion, and we thank them for their patience.
Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. It is our pleasure to care for your Mum. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, pass these on to the Alpine Lodge colleagues.
The caring staff are excellent, along with the supervisory team. My mum feels very comfortable with the level of care she receives and with the interactions with all the staff in the care home. She enjoys the food and the flexibility of the catering staff. The only thing she misses is a good coffee.
Dear Paul, many thanks for taking the time to review our home. All feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service. I'll have a word with the team on the coffee situation issue, it's an important one. Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course pass them on to the Alpine Lodge family.
My elderly relative has dementia. We have waited for her to have a place at Alpine Lodge. Last week she moved in. The staff have been very friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. She says the food is very good. Her room is small but well-furnished. We were able to make it homely with her personal items. Hopefully, she will settle into her new home and be happy and safe. First impressions are perfect. I'll review again in a few months. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased your loved one has settled in with us and is content.
My Mum has always had a very high level of care over the 9 years she had been at Alpine Lodge. She passed away on 1st January 2021, peacefully at 87 years. All staff at the home have shown great empathy and have assisted me after the end of life in dealing with the funeral company and all other details/requests I have required.
Thank you very much for your lovely review, your mum was an absolute pleasure to care for. Please take care and pop in anytime (after lockdown) to see us. I will pass your comments onto the staff.
