Alpine Lodge

Under trying circumstances the staff do very, very, very well. Higher pay, more staff needed.

There was plenty of entertainment at Xmas, which was good.

Alpine Lodge is always clean, bright and warm. Every member of staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good and has adequate portions. No one is forced to go to the dining room if they don't want to. My mum is always encouraged to join in activities, though I know she does not always want to, but staff often chat so she is not left isolated for long periods. I know my mum can be awkward and short-tempered, but the staff always treat her with firmness and compassion, and we thank them for their patience.

The caring staff are excellent, along with the supervisory team. My mum feels very comfortable with the level of care she receives and with the interactions with all the staff in the care home. She enjoys the food and the flexibility of the catering staff. The only thing she misses is a good coffee.

My elderly relative has dementia. We have waited for her to have a place at Alpine Lodge. Last week she moved in. The staff have been very friendly, welcoming, helpful and attentive. She says the food is very good. Her room is small but well-furnished. We were able to make it homely with her personal items. Hopefully, she will settle into her new home and be happy and safe. First impressions are perfect. I'll review again in a few months. Thank you.

My Mum has always had a very high level of care over the 9 years she had been at Alpine Lodge. She passed away on 1st January 2021, peacefully at 87 years. All staff at the home have shown great empathy and have assisted me after the end of life in dealing with the funeral company and all other details/requests I have required.

Mum went into Alpine Lodge for a couple of weeks respite, her care in there was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them. She liked it that much she wants to go in to stay. Brilliant staff and management.

I have visited my mum-in-law a few times before lockdown and found the home to be very welcoming and clean. The staff are friendly and caring, the food also looks very good and varied. The rooms are lovely as are the communal areas; they seem to have quite a few activities and days out and entertainment etc. My mum-in-law also looked clean and tidy, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

All the staff, from the manager, office staff, carers, cleaners, laundry staff, cooks and the handyman are all friendly and will answer any questions if they can and are always helpful.

A really lovely care home, well looked after residents, clean and tidy, nothing is too much for the staff to do, they really care for my relative and I would recommend this care home to anyone. The management is amazing, thank you.

Our experience of this home is without doubt superb. Staff, the building, care all excellent. Feel so grateful for everything which has been done for my Aunty, especially during the past 8-months, which, I am sure, has been difficult for everyone involved at the home. Thank you, just doesn’t seem enough.

Couldn’t imagine sending anybody anywhere else. The manager and all care staff are wonderful, was worried over certain things, but the manager was very reassuring and made me feel at ease. Amazing family environment; my relative was really happy staying there and has even said she misses some of the staff.

The care home has always treated my auntie the very best they can. Lovely environment, and interactions between residents. I particularly love the tuck shop and the ice cream maker. Keep up the fantastic work. Thank you for looking after my auntie.

Residents are treated with kindness and respect, and relatives are always greeted by kind and caring staff. Fantastic service, highly recommend. The facilities are always clean and tidy, and there are always plenty of activities to keep my Nan occupied.

Mum going into care was a very difficult situation for us as a family but has been made so much easier by the staff at Alpine Lodge. Mum settled straight away which I'm sure is down to their amazing staff, they genuinely care about their residents and it is such a comfort to know Mum is happy and well looked after. My mother has been here for a year now and was welcomed from the start by friendly and informative staff. My mother settled in quickly and enjoys the company and friendship of all staff and meal times too.

My grandma has been happy as a resident at the home. The care and compassion have been amazing for her and my family. She has enjoyed the activities especially the entertainment and music and she also enjoys the good food.

Very friendly staff, keeping residents safe and taking good care of my nan, keeping her occupied and amused whilst in their care. My nan seems very happy in their care, and the facility seems clean and safe in guidelines with covid.

We have made the decision to move my mum into Alpine Lodge and we met the home manager for a chat. The manager was very positive and knowledgeable about Mum's condition and she gave us confidence that my mum's needs would be met by Alpine Lodge.
