Couldn’t imagine sending anybody anywhere else. The manager and all care staff are wonderful, was worried over certain things, but the manager was very reassuring and made me feel at ease. Amazing family environment; my relative was really happy staying there and has even said she misses some of the
staff.
Reply from Keeley Slack, Home Manager at Alpine LodgeThank you for your 5-star review, Chloe; I must agree with you that the care team here is absolutely wonderful. We absolutely strive to provide person-centred care to our residents, and I think this shows in their happy smiling faces. Thank you again for your review; I will pass your comments onto our staff team.

The care home has always treated my auntie the very best they can. Lovely environment, and interactions between residents. I particularly love the tuck shop and the ice cream maker. Keep up the fantastic work. Thank you for looking after my auntie.
Reply from Keeley Slack, Home Manager at Alpine LodgeThank you for taking the time to submit this lovely 5-star review for us. Reviews like this are going a long way in boosting staff morale at these such trying times. The tuck shop/market day is a real hit with the residents; they absolutely love it, and we always finish off the market day with a good old ice cream, which the residents absolutely love making their own with a flake and sprinkles. Thank you again for this lovely review; I will pass your comments onto the staff team.

Mum going into care was a very difficult situation for us as a family but has been made so much easier by the staff at Alpine Lodge. Mum settled straight away which I'm sure is down to their amazing staff, they genuinely care about their residents and it is such a comfort to know Mum is happy and well
looked after. Thank you to the manager and her wonderful team.

Very friendly staff, keeping residents safe and taking good care of my nan, keeping her occupied and amused whilst in their care. My nan seems very happy in their care, and the facility seems clean and safe in guidelines with covid.
Reply from Keeley Slack, Home Manager at Alpine LodgeThank you, Angelina, for submitting this lovely 5-star review for us. We absolutely focus on keeping our residents occupied and entertained. Your nan told us of her love for tropical fish, that she and your grandad used to breed fish so we have bought a lovely aquarium for the lounge area that your nan has now taken charge of caring for. She is a pleasure to have with us.

Our good friend and neighbour has just had 12-days in Alpine Lodge for respite. We cannot believe how happy she was. I called to see her, and she looked happy. They care above and beyond; they even rang me the day after she was home, just checking on her, (bless them). I can't recommend this care home
enough; thanks to you all.

Dad is very much a home bird and when asked, he would prefer to stay at home but knows he needs help and does like being here. He has been very happy on his trips out as he loves to sit and have a ride. He enjoys his three meals a day and has a good relationship with the staff, whose company he enjoys
too. He also enjoys sitting in the garden.

I have always found the staff to be very polite and caring towards my friend, the home is clean and tidy and has plenty going on to keep residents busy and happy, even in these trying times, it's nice to still be able to see loved ones albeit from a distance. I feel my friend's care needs are being
met very well, and there has been quite a few improvements over the fast months for the better. I would happily recommend Alpine Lodge, it's a great atmosphere in general, my friend enjoys the food too which she says is very good.

Overall, an excellent level of care. The home is very clean, bright and well maintained. The Manager and Staff are lovely, caring and friendly. There are plenty of activities to meet everyone's needs and the residents are clean, tidy and seem very happy with their surroundings. The rooms are very nice
too. The food looks really nutritious with a good menu to choose from. Residents' families are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Reply from Keeley Slack, Home Manager at Alpine LodgeThank you very much for submitting your review to us. It is lovely to have a 5-star rating from family members. My mum has lived at Alpine Lodge for a few years now and as a family, we have been delighted with her care. The awful situation that we have all found ourselves in, meaning we cannot visit our loved ones, has been made so much easier for us as I am confident that the wonderful staff there are caring
for her in the same compassionate way that they always have.
My mums complex behaviours have always been dealt with in a calm and empathetic way and the atmosphere at Alpine is always pleasant and welcoming.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.594)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.594) out of 10 for Alpine Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.644 for Alpine Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (146 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 216 Ratings = 4.644
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Alpine Lodge is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
