My father is a resident of Balmoral Care home. After a 4 weeks assessment, we as a family decided not to move my father anywhere else as he had settled so well. The staff are lovely and very caring and nothing is too much trouble.

My father appears to be very content in Balmoral - if asked and capable, I am sure that he would confirm this. He is clean, tidy, fed and watered. As he is not particularly social, the environment suits him well.
My concerns are that the fees are quite high and his income just about covers them. The
longer he lives, the more they will increase and his income will fall behind. I haven't found Social Services to be of any help and systems are incredibly difficult to understand. It would have been useful to me if FSHC had on-hand advice - they obviously deal with a number of these organizations and should be able to make the initial period of time an easier process.
I believe that the staff carry out duties with compassion, care and interest in their patients. I think the organization as a whole are perhaps less so. I understand that this is a business and must function accordingly but reacting to individual needs etc should be paramount.

The care home is clean and does not have an aroma of old peoples homes as some do. My mother's room is very small but manageable, but the furnishings are a little tired and could do with repairs or replacing.

Although my father is bed ridden and requires 24hr nursing care and has been like this for nearly 3 years, I can not comment on some of the questions below but to give just a satisfactory answer. Although I am very happy that my father is looked after well and the staff are doing a good job and are

The building itself is now becoming "tired" and requires attention.

Home is good, but mother is just left in her bed. She is profoundly deaf, and registered blind, and due to being immobile cannot stand or sit up on her own. But could do with occasional change of scenery.

On the whole were very pleased with mums care, but think her hands should be washed/soaked in water as her nails are filthy. Also feel the room needs painting. The staff are always friendly and answer any questions we ask. Mum seems happy most of the time which puts us at ease.

My mother was a resident here for seven months before her death. At all times, she was treated with patience and dignity. She was very happy here and the staff were always respectful and aware of her needs. They were also polite and friendly at all times to all members of all the family.

The staff have been so caring and considerate towards my mum even tough she is suffering from dementia and has had quite a few challenging episodes. They have taken into consideration both her needs and her relatives.
She is now in the latter stages of her life and I could not wish for better care
from both the nursing and care staff.

My husband has been in three care homes recently and this one has proved to be the better. First and foremost are the staff, cannot fault them at all, they are a credit to your company. I cannot praise them enough. If my husband has to permanently reside in a care home I wouldn't hesitate to use Balmoral
Care Home. Just two things that could be improved on;
1. The size of the rooms for someone with reduced mobility, it is very difficult for them to manoeuvre.
2. The food. I stayed with my husband for Xmas lunch. It was dreadful, some is Ok but could be improved on.

Mum has been in Balmoral just over a year. I visit regularly and have been made to feel very welcome by all the staff that I come into contact with on Windsor. They do an amazing job, sometimes under great pressure due to not enough staff. My mum has dementia and after no longer being able to care for
her at home she went to live at Balmoral. The staff keep me up to date on how mum is and will contact me directly to update me on anything that is urgent. I class the staff on Windsor as heroes, as without their help, I dread to think where we would be.

I visit frequently on Wednesdays to take part in the activities day. Overall, view of the Balmoral Home is that of a well run, clean and friendly establishment. The key to a good home is the staff who are friendly and committed to their charges.

Mum has now been in Balmoral Care Home for over 8 years and I have nothing but praise for the care and attention she has received.

Very caring helpful staff. My mum has been in the home since February 2016 and has settled in well. In March my mum was unwell and had to visit hospital. Staff organised an ambulance to transport my mum and I to the appointment. Recently, my mum's clothes have not been washed according to care labels
and some have shrunk. Mum is always dressed and clean when we visit. Overall very pleased with the care mum is receiving.

Job Title: Home Manager at Balmoral Care Home, Sheffield

Since a young age Lesley has been passionate about helping others. With her kind and helpful nature, it was evident a career in care was perfect for her. At the age of 16, she became a care assistant and went on to gain her NVQ Level 2 and 3. Before becoming a home manager she gained experience through roles such as a senior care assistant and a team leader. She is very proud that she has been able to help her team deliver the best care possible. A family-minded individual, Lesley spends her spare time swimming, going to family events and getting lost in a good book. Words of encouragement from Lesley for someone looking for the right home would be: “Ask yourself, is there a friendly atmosphere? Is it nice and bright? Are there lots of activities?
