Based on my most recent visits to my father, I feel he is both respectfully and affectionately cared for. He is in the most difficult of times in his life and the staff are doing their best to make him comfortable.

My brother is well cared for. Manager and staff all very helpful. I think there is a good atmosphere in Howgate with residents and staff. I can't fault this care home.

Mum has only been here for 10 days and in this time we have been extremely happy with the care she has received. The staff have been excellent, kept us informed, and offered us support at this sad time.

Howgate is now very well managed, everything seems to be working smoothly again under the present manager. During the Covid lockdown, I have been very impressed at the precautions put in place and I have felt that my husband is in a very safe environment here. Well done to everybody.

Howgate is a home from home experience. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I feel that my grandma is well looked after in their care. The rooms are clean, but a little bit dated. The meals are very good and a lot of choice on the menu.

My mother has been in the home for several months, in this time we have been very pleased with the care she has been given. The staff are very helpful and attentive in their work. Always willing to give help and assistance when needed. The home is very clean and a very good range of activities for the

My mum spent two years there. I watched a lot of wrong things, fire escape blocked by wheelchairs, had to tell them loads of time to move things, stuff left in hallways, tripping hazards such as hoist plugged in, dangerous. Residents upstairs left unsupervised for long times. Unclean cupboard in kitchen
upstairs, I even washed them when no one around. I had to change and make mum's bed, they never checked when mum made it only had to pull the sheets back to see stains on it. There are a few good carers but more lazy ones. My mum died 13 January, two years there, was in hospital for 3 weeks. I had no phone call asking how she was when she died, no condolences from them, and the big thing, I got the last bill week after she passed, it said mum was owed money £374. I waited 4 weeks then rang head office to be told now I've claimed it they will sort it out so if you don't claim they keep it, disgusting.

My mother-in-law was given six weeks to live with liver cancer. We came and met the manager and she was extremely professional, which put as at ease over my mother-in-law. She spent her last weeks at Howgate House. From day one to her last day she was treated excellently by all staff and I and my partner
would like to especially credit the manager, who was professional and helpful.

Our father came here for short term end of life care. We cannot stress enough how lovely and caring the staff and management were, not only to our dad but to us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and the care home was spotlessly clean. We had 24 hour
access to our dad and all the amenities available. I would certainly recommend this care home to anyone, whatever the care level needed. At such a sad time for us as a family, it was a comfort to know we had such wonderful support.

Howgate House have looked after my brother very well. It is not their fault that he has limited activities due to his condition. All his needs are looked after to the best of the ability of the staff. His room is excellent very clean, breakfasts dinners are lovely, teas as well. The staff and management

My relative had to go into the care home following a fall and becoming unsafe at home. She was always treated with care and respect. The staff were so kind to her and all of them paid her attention and were considerate of all her needs. This was a major change for her but the care of the staff meant
that in the months she lived there it became her home and she was safe and secure in her final months of life.

My mother was here for 2 days prior to her death. The care was amazing. The staff worked hard to keep her comfortable and pain-free. This was not always possible due to previous care from the hospital. All staff were extremely kind, caring and very compassionate.
