Since my husband has been in Howgate House Care Home all has worked out well. All the staff, care, nursing, kitchen and manager have all been very caring and understanding and will do anything to help. In out case myself and sons have been very pleased with how things have worked out.

Moving Dad to a new home was 100% the right thing to do - whilst not fancy Howgate House Care Home staff really do deliver "care" in this comfortable home and I would have no hesitation to recommend them.

From the moment we contacted Howgate House Care Home they gave us amazing care and support. They cared for both my mother and my father, who were settled, happy and well looked after whilst in their care. The staff always had time to talk, help and support all the family. They helped us through some
very difficult times with true professionalism and care - forever thankful.

Since my husband moved to Howgate House Care Home, he managed to get out twice (fire exit and main entrance) without staff noticing. Police were involved to find him the first time. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. During visits I clean his floor, some debris under the bed is still there since
he moved in. Clothing getting mixed even though it is labelled, I now wash myself. Staff undermine his appearance. Some carers bully him. Can go on and on.

My mum was sent to Howgate House Care Home for assessment for her future care after time in hospital. I couldn’t of wished for more caring staff, my mum was looked after and soon settled there. The staff have been so supportive to myself and the family and helped us with any requests we made on Mum's
behalf. The care by the staff and manager for the residents is genuine and makes you feel reassured your loved one is well looked after.

My old dad lost his independence in early 2021 and was in hospitals of some description for 5 or 6 months.
After reading positive things about Howgate House, we decided it was the place for him to live, and it's near for me to visit.
After nearly four months at Howgate, I can't praise this establishment
enough. Dad is a grump at the best of times, and he could moan at anything, but he's really happy here; he gets treated like a king, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

The staff are very good and the accommodation overall is very good, but it needs a lick of paint and new woodwork to outside. Food seems to be okay, my wife does not complain to me about it, so it must be.

My mum spent four weeks at the home and I felt she was very well looked after, with dignity. My only slight issue was that as it was during the pandemic, visiting wasn't allowed. I managed to have a couple of video calls with my mum but these were facilitated by the nurses, there did not seem to be
a process in place for such calls. Otherwise, I was impressed with the building and set-up when I could visit my mum as she was dying. Thanks for looking after her.

Prior to Howgate, my mother had a terrible experience of 'assisted living'. With Howgates care, her smile returned and she enjoyed life again. I cannot praise them enough.

Since my mum came into Howgate House Care Home, we have seen a massive positive change in Mum, she is getting her sparkle back and is laughing and joking with the staff.
When we have seen Mum she looks clean and well cared for.
Seeing Mum like this makes us a lot happier too.
