Had very little time to research nursing home due to fast discharge of my wife from the hospital, but very clad I chose Astley Grange, all the staff I came in contact with were very professional but also kind and thoughtful, and nothing was too much trouble. Came in regularly, bathed and changed my wife, and kept me informed of the situation.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so happy to hear your wife is happy and comfortable in our home. Thank you for your kind words regarding our team and their hard work. It's so rewarding to hear!
Mum appears very happy here. She has settled in well and is putting weight on. All the staff have been very welcoming and seem happy in their roles. The only negative is the car park at school out times. This is used by people other than staff or visitors to Astley Grange and is a cause for concern with safety of visitors at these times.
We are happy to hear that your mother is feeling healthy and happy in our care. It means the world to the team to know that they are making a difference to our residents. We are sorry to hear that you are concerned about the safety of our car park, but we can assure you that the safety and...
My father received excellent professional care during the final stages of his life. As I have been a carer all my life, staff have been exemplary in their care of an individual with compassion, empathy and respect to all including visitors.
Hi David,
Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad to have been able to care for and support your father. As a carer yourself, your feedback means a lot to our team. We will be sure to pass along your kind words.
Wishing you and your family all the very best.
All the staff were friendly, supportive, caring and compassionate towards our loved one and his family. The staff delivered a warm, professional service to the highest standard. Their cheerfulness, smiles could always be relied upon to lift the spirits. Highly recommended care home.
Our mum was a resident at Astley Grange for the last 2 1/2 years of her very long life. As a family, we can not fault the care she received as she became trailer. We felt Mum was being cared for with kindness and compassion and respected as an individual. From the admin staff and management, carers and ancillary staff nothing was too much trouble. Moving Mum into a home felt such a massive step but from the outset, we knew she was in the right place and was safe. After several hard years of declining health at home that was so reassuring and we would have no hesitation in recommending Astley Grange.
The care and support for both Mum and family as she approached the end of her life was excellent. We were extremely grateful that she was so well cared for, and made so comfortable. We feel fortunate that she was able to be at Astley Grange.
The whole set up at the care home is absolutely excellent - the staff, the facilities, the environment, care provided, safety and cleanliness. We, as a family, could not wish for better for my sister's care.
Staff are incredibly friendly and caring towards the residents. Family members seem happy here and would consider it to recommend to others.
The crae and attention provided by Astley Grange Nursing Home is exceptional.
Our family chose Astley Grange Nursing Home who have made both my mum and us very welcome. The staff are lovely and always available to answer any questions. Mum is well looked after and comfortable. Thank you for your care and compassion.
As a family, we are settled knowing Mum is cared for here by nice caring staff. The carers are really helpful and have really pushed to get Mum the physio she needs. One staff member, in particular, was especially helpful and proactive in this regard. We were welcomed warmly and always can discuss any concerns we may have. Mum is happy with the food and she seems very settled. The only criticism is that the room needs updating with new fittings and furniture!
Astley Grange was like a breath of fresh air after Dad had been assessed in a dowdy dreary local nursing home. Astley Grange is bright and very clean. A janitor on site clearly maintains the home to a good standard. The staff have been really lovely and we did have our favourites - all of them. The laundry ladies and the facility itself is first-class! Our Dad was going through a very difficult time with dementia and it was agreed he needed more nursing care elsewhere, meanwhile, the staff stepped up and it could not have been easy for them, they did all that they could to care for our Dad who was always clean and smart and well presented on our regular visits. We endeavoured to relocate him but sadly he took ill and the staff at Astley Grange did their absolute best to care for his needs. Because Astley Grange was so welcoming it was never a chore to visit. Our time at Astley Grange is now over but I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to family and friends.
Astley Grange Nursing Home is very nice, it is very clean and the staff are excellent, they show great care and support and are extremely friendly and so easy to approach with any questions you want to ask.
My grandma has only resided in your care home for a few weeks. She is not physically fit enough to leave her room so I'm unaware of activities etc. The staff that I have met seem lovely, always pleasant and welcoming. My grandma appears to be well looked after, is clean, comfortable and states how nice the staff are, so that is the best we can ask for. Thank you.
When the family visit we are always made to feel comfortable and welcome. We are also confident in the care given. Thank you.
The staff are excellent, caring and helpful. The place is always clean.
My mum has been in the care home, Astley Grange, Huddersfield, for the past 3 months and I have to say, the standard of care is out of this world. The place is spotless and if you want a cup of tea whilst visiting your relatives or friends, it's entirely not a problem to them, it's just second nature. The home is also very professional and they have strict procedures to adhere to in times of hardship such as Covid. I would recommend this home as the place to be if you want peace of mind when you have to sadly make those horrible decisions in life because they're not easy decisions to make. Astley Grange staff are amazing.
My mum lives at Astley Grange after a fall at home; she is 91 and has Alzheimer's. I visited today, and she looked well, was smiling, had her hair and nails done and made a friend. The staff are efficient, kind and helpful and were engaged with her using an interactive TV. The home has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and has exceeded my expectations. I now have greater peace of mind knowing she is in safe hands and being looked after in all respects. I have no hesitation in recommending Astley Grange care home.
My mum was discharged to the care of Astley Grange Nursing Home after a spell in hospital. She was in quarantine for 10 days and the staff were amazing. We could speak through the window but as mum has dementia it was difficult for all concerned. The staff were wonderful with her and got her eating and drinking again. We had been trying our best but failing her. She was wonderfully looked after and we all as a family appreciated all the love and care bestowed. I would recommend this care home. Very safety conscious too.
My mum was discharged from hospital to Astley Grange to be assessed for permanent care. During this time she had received excellent care. The staff have been wonderful making her feel safe and settled. She has dementia and we were worried how she would cope after living by herself for the last 40 years. She settled very quickly, started eating again, and regained strength and the improvement in her well-being surprised all her family. We have moved her to a home in Halifax her home town and nearer other family. We would have been happy for her to stay in Astley Grange if it had been necessary. Their covid protocols are exemplary regarding visiting etc.
