My mum was discharged from hospital to Astley Grange to be assessed for permanent care. During this time she had received excellent care. The staff have been wonderful making her feel safe and settled. She has dementia and we were worried how she would cope after living by herself for the last 40 years. She settled very quickly, started eating again, and regained strength and the improvement in her well-being surprised all her family. We have moved her to a home in Halifax her home town and nearer other family. We would have been happy for her to stay in Astley Grange if it had been necessary. Their covid protocols are exemplary regarding visiting etc.
After 11 weeks in hospital my husband stayed at Astley Grange for 2 weeks. He was waiting to go for rehabilitation. He was looked after very well, food was enjoyable most of the time, friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The home is very clean and doesn’t smell at all. I would recommend it.
When my husband died, not one person came to his funeral, this was very bad and was noticed by one or two people as this was his home for 18 months. Staff were like family to him. The manager and care worker should have attended. It's the first funeral I've been to where no one has attended from a care home.
They make visitors feel very welcome and were very caring when my mother passed away in their care.
I would recommend it to anyone.
The staff were very kind and considerate; this put our mind to rest.
Always treated with respect, and my Mum loved all the staff.
I found my stay at Astley Grange Nursing Home a really pleasant experience. The staff were extremely pleasant and professional as were the residents, really nice too, putting me at ease from the moment I walked through the doors. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
My father was in the home for just over six months. Myself, my daughter and my niece were very impressed with the overall care given to my father. All his needs were taken care off and we were always kept informed when needed.
Palliative care was patiently given. A special cake with candles was baked for his birthday. Although sadly, he couldn't eat it, it was a very nice gesture to mark the occasion.
Excellent care staff and nurses, my father being terminally ill, was transferred from the hospice and needed full-time care and support having a syringe driver in place and very weak and could not eat or drink unaided. The home is of a very high standard and the food is freshly cooked and some homegrown. The staff are lovely and treat my father with respect and humility we are very grateful for this as he is unable to go home. I may add, this home is very clean and has some very good facilities.
We are happy with the care and everyone is helpful and present.
The care my mum received was excellent. We only had one small incident which was quickly sorted. I would defiantly recommend Astley Grange.
This delighted me because I witnessed immaculate care from the 3 members of staff that accompanied the participants from start to finish, who ensured that they were supervised from start to finish of the expedition, which proved to be a happy and successful excursion. The staff are deserving of congratulations and gratitude.
Overall I am extremely happy with her experience.
He enjoyed his food and was well hydrated his medication was given correctly and all his clothes were in order.
Would recommend to anyone and I am happy that he is happy.
Everyone in the care home spent time with her making her feel part of a family.
The dignity and respect she received was wonderful.
Thank you.
My mum received the best care possible at Astley Grange. I was able to relax knowing she was safe and well cared for while she was there. Many thanks to all the lovely staff.
Just wanted to say a massive heartfelt thank you for the care you gave to my mum
Everyone involved always showed compassion, encouragement and understanding and her dignity was always maintained. It was a lovely environment for my mum to spend her last few months. Knowing she was safe and being so well cared for was such a relief. There are some happy memories for us from her stay.
Thank you again for all you care and commitment.
My visits have been very pleasant, both with the service user and with staff. No complaints.
