After Dads 5th stroke I knew I couldn't look after him on my own as he wasn't mobile. I had heard that Gledhow was the best nursing home locally so we contacted the manager & found Dad a place. That was 18 months ago. The team have worked their magic & Dad is now stable. What a team! Well managed & it's wonderful to the consistancey of staff. We love you all.

We were so worried and guilty about placing Mum in a home. In the event, all staff at the home have been so kind and reassuring, and most importantly we have observed them provide first class care and attention to her. We can see that she is comfortable, treated with respect and dignity and good humour. We are so grateful to all of the team for taking care of our dear mum.

Dads care at his Care Home was excellent, from management, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, laundry staff and maintenance man. Communication was good, we were regularly informed of dads health issues and asked our opinion. Dental care was arranged for as when needed. Dad received good nutrition, hydration, that was documented, hygiene and safety. The chaplain was good at involving dad with services, discussions and visiting one to one. Entertainment was well planned, he had a lovely day out with staff and residents. He was taken outside in good weather when dad was well enough. his room was cleaned and hoovered every day. The entire family was reassured to know dad was well looked after.

My mother was a resident for just under 2 years. In that time she found all the carers so thoughtful and supportive. The nursing care was very diligent, working closely with GPs. The atmosphere at Gledhow Care Home is very friendly to all family, visitors and residents. All I can say is thank you Gledhow!

My mother passed away in February after a long struggle with dementia. She had also been a resident in another MHA care home. My experience of Mum's care at Gledhow was exemplary. I could go into the home and would be recognised, told what my Mum had been up to in the last couple of days and was constantly reassured that staff were seeing her not as a resident but as a human being. Her room was comfortable and safe, reflecting her need for specific bed arrangements due to her lack of mobility. A nurse was always available for me to discuss how Mum had been, and the receipt of a monthly call was also welcome and reassuring. Myself and my brother could only really ask for reassurance that Mum was safe, well looked after and stimulated through the comprehensive activities programme and we got that in abundance. Her passing was very peaceful and calm and again I feel that was down to the care she received.

Mum has been at Gledhow MHA since September 2025 and she has been so well looked after and cared for. Staff are very polite and ready to help and advise us about mum's care - thank you.

Within the last 2yrs we have gone from, assisted living, to residential and now with moms health changing we was on the lookout for the perfect nursing home. We came across Gledhow and on entering the home was greeted with warmth + welcome and know we'd found the perfect home for mum. Beautiful room, kept clean + tidy, lovely caring staff and management and all very approachable. The care and compassion shown to our mum is remarkable. We couldn't of wished for anywhere better.

My mother spent the last weeks of her life at Gledhow. The staff treated mum with total dignity and respect throughout her stay, and even after death the care they showed to her body, and the guard of honour that was provided when the body was being collected, will live with me forever... I thank the team wholeheartedly and will be forever grateful.

Our family have been incredibly impressed with the level of care our father has received at Gledhow Nursing Home. Communication is excellent. The environment is warm, homely, welcoming and feels like a family. He was made to feel extremely comfortable and very well looked after. The food was outstanding, well presented with a good choice. My friend was treated with kindness and dignity from the moment she arrived until the moment she left. She was very happy being cared for here and I would recommend this care home without hesitation.

My wife has advanced dementia and has been in Gledhow for over two years. She has Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia and Aphasia, so has lost her memory almost completely, has limited understanding and her speech is mostly gibberish, so she now needs everything to be done for her. The staff get her up each day, shower her, dress her, help her to the lounge and make sure she is comfortable there and help her with her meals. The staff are all pleasant, hard-working and helpful and deal with the many problems that arise with residents in a calm and sympathetic way. The fact that you can visit at any time without an appointment illustrates that the home really has nothing to hide, and I am very happy that my wife is there and is so well cared for.

My dad has advanced dementia and can sometimes display challenging behaviour. The whole team at MHA Gledhow have taken this in their stride and provide regular updates. They also contact myself and my mum directly to discuss his ongoing needs and staff are available to have a catch up when we visit the home. My family and I have seen how hard working and dedicated the staff are and we are very happy with how he has been looked after at the home.

My wife came to Gledhow for 2 weeks respite. I have to say the nurses and care staff were outstanding. My wife very much enjoyed her stay with you and the staff had time to talk with her. My wife is looking forward to her next respite.

My wife is terminally ill with dementia and I'm glad she is at Gledhow because they take care in a holistic approach. They don't only look after my wife, they care for me as well. The management advices are spot on and help us both those difficult times. All the staff are wonderful, worrying, professional and very friendly always with a big smile in their faces. I'm actually lost of words to praise this place. I'm glad my wife is going to end her life here because of professionalism, dignity and compassion. Thank you all for the caring of us.

Since being admitted here I have only met with respect kindness and friendship. The staff have been obliging and considerate to my comfort. My room has been pleasant and comfortable, meeting all my needs. The carers have overseen all my needs and the medical staff my necessary medication. I have been impressed by the quality and variety of the meals. My compliments to you two excellent chefs. I shall miss you all!

My husband stayed in Gledhow Care Home so I could have 2 weeks of much needed respite. He fell ill again whilst there, having suffered regular bouts of illness at home. The staff contacted me as soon as they were concerned and supported him through his final illness. They were thoughtful, caring and sensitive, ensuring the very best of care for him. My family and I will always be grateful to them for their kindness and support.

They went above and beyond, especially when my friend passed away, whether offering a kind word or just taking the time to chat and keep spirits high. They were also very helpful in helping us speed up the funeral process which was greatly appreciated.
