Manor Park was caring for my daughter. She was very ill but I could not ask for better care and I would give the care home 210% for all they did for my daughter. A big, big thank you to all. I could not ask for better.

The carers at Manor Park Care Home did the very best for my aunty, they made her laugh, smile and at best made her comfy, couldn't have asked for much more under the circumstances and for that, we are very grateful. Would recommend to others but as shown below could make improvements but overall did a great job of looking after my aunty. Thank you.

I feel the care given to my grandmother was respectful and dignified. The compassion shown to her and us were second to none, even though my grandmother could be stubborn at times and the carers hadn't seen the lovely person my nanna was before her dementia took over. They gave her the care as if they had known her.

I would like to express my thanks to all the staff at Manor Park. My mother passed away recently. My mother was in the home for over three years with dementia. She was very challenging towards the end. The staff always treated my mother with respect, compassion and empathy. We believe they went above their duties and want to recognise them for the good work that they do. Thank you.

Overall, I am quite content with the care my wife receives.

Her ability to indulge in activities is nil and her ability to comment on food is nil. However, I feel it is quite satisfactory/good and overall, I have no criticism.

My mother in law was a resident in Manor Park for over 6 years and was cared for with empathy and compassion, especially during the last week of her life. She was in the latter stages of Alzheimer's and was unable to recognise her family but we appreciated she was content and comfortable within her surroundings and with the carers who looked after her. She was able to pass away with dignity and in peace with carers by her side which has been a great comfort to us.

I think the staff and Manor Park, on the whole, are a very competent and caring place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other people. They looked after my father as though he was their own and made his last few weeks as comfortable as humanly possible. They were just fantastic.

My dad came in, in September for respite he had Parkinson's and was bedbound for most of the time. Staff were very caring and thoughtful. My mum was always made welcome when she went on her own. Everyone made you feel welcome. Made dad feel he belonged there even at the end when he could not understand they still spoke to him.
I would like to say a big praise to the manager and all her staff.

Dads care was excellent throughout his stay. When dad died the staff could not have been more supportive.

I have been a resident at Manor Park since 14th June 2017 I have settled very well mainly because the staff are all lovely. They are very kind and friendly they assist me as needed. Take me to bed when I want to go to bed and assist me to get up when I am ready. The entertainment and activities are just whats needed. While the home is lovely & clean (no odours) and the food is excellent. My room looks out over the garden and is very near the lounge. I am very happy here because the staff are lovely.

Overall Experience

This is a well-maintained and clean establishment but our experience of some aspects of care were disappointing. The carers are excellent but seem to be stretched due to apparent under-staffing and this led to my father (who is bed-bound) being left in bed for over 2 weeks without being bathed/showered, receiving only minimal washing within his bed. This was very upsetting and disappointing.

My mum-in-law went into the care home March 2017. She was bed bound. Unfortunately, she passed away on the 28th June but the level of care given to her by all the staff from management to the care team have been brilliant. Their dedication, love, care, kindness for my mum-in-law and ourselves has been second to none and I want you to know how much we as a family appreciate everything they have done.

I had concerns regarding the home when I found out that the Care Quality Commission was involved with the home and read the comments made by CQC.
There were instances when I visited my Auntie in 2016 and found that her notes were not up to date, especially regarding fluids, apparently, this was due to lack of time, not having enough time to complete the form.
This can be a worry when on a hot day I noticed that she hadn't had any fluids or offered fluids for a few hours.

I have since been told by the home that this has since been rectified.

Thank you for your comments regarding your Auntie in 2016. I can confirm a great deal of work and further staff training has been implemented at Manor Park Care Home, along with the introduction of electronic care plans to ensure daily resident notes on fluid intake are updated.

Since August of 2016, my family and I have seen significant changes within the care home. The interim manager is always available should you wish to discuss anything and the staff work hard to try and accommodate any requests or needs. Both the management and carers know my family member's personal needs, likes and dislikes and are always welcoming and friendly towards other visiting members of the family. I feel that my family member is safe, looked after by fantastic carers that really go the extra mile!

My mum has been in Manor Park for seven years, first, in the downstairs dementia unit, she was in the unit for five years and moved upstairs two years ago. My sister and I would see mum almost every day. The staff are lovely and kind people always smile and say hello and always there to offer help or give advice. I have had experience of other care homes, but this is the one I would recommend to anyone who was looking for care for their loved one. We have not had many problems over the years but when problems have occurred the staff were helpful and always helped solve the problems. My mum is 77 years old and in the last stages of dementia. Thank you.

My Mum is a resident on the EMI nursing unit The carers and nurses look after her extremely well and are very friendly and very approachable. I have peace of mind my Mum is being looked after to the best of their abilities. This is very important to me, being able to trust carers to look after my Mum in a responsible and professional manner. My Mum has been a resident since March 2016 and as her needs change her care is reviewed.

When my father stayed at Manor Park, it felt that many of the staff did not care about their job or the residents. There were no activities (they did not have a co-ordinator). Access to care plans is not readily available, and requests for information were treated as an inconvenience. My father was not treated with dignity and we could not wait to move him out.
