Mum went to Priory Gardens needing 24/7 care, after badly breaking her leg, which is in a brace, non-weight bearing. From the moment mum arrived, she felt at home, all the staff from the managers, carers, nursing to the chef are always smiling, friendly and very very caring. Holding residents hands
and giving them cuddles are a daily occurrence and is lovely to see and means a lot to the residents. Mum's room has a nice garden view and like the rest of Priory Gardens, it is spotlessly clean. The equipment mum needs to move her, were all there and in place, special mattress, rotary stand etc. Mum is not a big eater, but the chefs delicious meals have tempted her and she is eating really well, she tells me his homemade Yorkshire puddings are like her own. There is regular entertainment from Bingo, Bollywood Dancers, Sing-a-longs and that's just in the last two weeks. I feel so lucky mum is in Priory Gardens because I know she is in a safe and very caring place, this is a really good feeling for family members to have. Many many thanks to everyone at Priory Gardens.

Being a relative of a new service user I have found the whole experience very helpful in settling my Dad into his new home. Staff have welcomed him and us all as one family, helped with any teething problems, have been happy to assist whenever we needed them. Dad has done more, moved more, enjoyed all
activities that are set out to encourage the elderly to mix, which has made me very happy.

My experience of Priory Gardens has so far been very good. My grandad is happy so that makes me happy. The move here has been a massive change for him, especially moving out of his home of more than 60 years. As a family with toddlers, we are always made to feel welcome and not pressured to keep the
kids quiet. Very happy so far.

Since my Mother in law has been in Priory Gardens we have seen a remarkable change in her, she has been a lot more settled and contented and there has been no aggression. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and have treated my mother in law with respect and care, nothing you ask is too much trouble
and they put our minds at rest with any issues we have had. The dinners that they are served look and smell amazing and the dining room is set up beautifully and looks more like a little restaurant where all the residents come together to eat and socialise. They have activities on for the residents throughout the week run by a lovely lady. I would like to thanks all staff that have made a very difficult transition for us a lot easier it’s a pleasure to go and visit, a special mention to the senior management who helped us every step of the way it’s been very much appreciated.

My mother transferred to Priory Gardens back in October 2018, it was a very difficult time for me, it was made so much easier by the way senior management handled it. Very helpful and kept me informed of all the decisions made at the time. My mother has settled in extremely well and I have seen a big
difference in her behaviour for the better, staff are always on hand, very helpful and friendly. They treat my mother brilliantly and with dignity which is very important, she eats well and the food served is fantastic, she has lots of opportunities to socialise with other residents and staff and there is also a variety of activities put on for them to do. Her room is homely and very well decorated, I can’t thank all the staff enough for the help and peace of mind I now have where my mother is concerned.

When my dad first went in, Priory Gardens Care Home was OK but it went downhill fast. Manager after manager was rubbish, it was dirty, smelt bad, stuff going missing.
But then we got a new lady manager who is here now. She has turned the place around. It's now lovely and clean, the place has got a
lovely feel to it. All the staff are happy and caring. The place has a buzz to it.
A fantastic job done by the manager.

Priory Gardens staff are so caring and helpful. They always have time for a word with you, they go out of their way to welcome everyone. The difference it has made to my mum in law's quality of life being in here is great. It has taken away all the worry. She is safe and well cared for and happy.
This is down to the care received here. The staff make Priory Gardens as good as it is. Excellent care and excellent staff.

Although my mother was only at Priory Gardens for only a week to see out her last days, 5th - 12th February, the care she received was outstanding in every way. The residents there are extremely lucky to spend their last days in such a lovely place. I couldn't fault it. The manager and staff are excellent.

Mum has only been here a short time but the staff are wonderful with her. They helped her to settle in and look after all her care needs, they also take the time to reassure her if she gets anxious. They are always helpful and so thoughtful. They have got to know mum really well and anticipate her
needs. They also take time to reassure me and have helped with questions I have asked them.

Whenever I visit Priory Gardens Care Home there is always staff around, they always take the time to speak even though you know they are so busy. Nothing is too much trouble. Medical queries are answered promptly. Equally admin help with queries. HCA so friendly and always happy to help. Activities are varied and so enjoyable.

I would highly recommend the care received at Priory Gardens Care Home, I can go home assured that my mum is incapable, friendly, trustworthy care.

Above all else, she is Safe and Happy.

The staff make this care home as good as it is. All of them.

Mum was sadly only in Priory Gardens for a week. She was 90 and had been in hospital for several weeks and was clearly not recovering. We contacted Priory Gardens and they worked quickly to move her.
It was such a relief to visit her in a comfortable room rather than in hospital. The week Mum spent
there she was well cared for by kind and cheerful staff. They kept her pain free and the care provided was excellent.
Dad is 93 and we will both be ever grateful for the kindness and care shown to us all during a difficult time.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.712)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.712) out of 10 for Priory Gardens Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.712 for Priory Gardens Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (472 Excellents x 5) + (85 Goods x 4) + (37 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 598 Ratings = 4.712
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Priory Gardens Care Home is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
