This homely facility is equipped for modern care practice, having its own assisted bathrooms and shower rooms, and furniture to fit different levels of physical mobility. A light and airy conservatory is great for unwinding.

I have nothing but praise for the staff in Coniston Lodge, where my father resides. He is very happy there and gets on with all the staff. Rooms are kept clean. If there are any problems, I am informed straight away (ie), when having Covid jabs. Staff were very thorough when Covid was bad, making sure
lateral tests were done.

My mum has been a resident of Coniston since September 2019. She is cared for with such kindness, decency and with respect and dignity. I know she is completely safe - and I know she feels safe and that she feels she is at home. The staff are always very responsive and very aware of her needs, and I

My mum moved into Coniston Lodge at Saltshouse Haven Care Home in October 2021. She has settled in well and gets along with everybody. I'm really happy with the quality of care she receives, and all the staff treat her with respect and dignity. I make regular visits to see my mum and always find the
home in a clean tidy condition. All of the staff are friendly and approachable and go out of their way to make Mum feel like part of the family. The staff always keep me informed regarding my mum's health/condition, which gives me peace of mind knowing she's being cared for in a good safe and happy environment.

My mum was transferred to Saltshouse after the home she was in very sadly closed. Her room was always grubby, she was regularly dressed in other people's clothes, including underwear, even though she had plenty of clean ones of her own, not kept informed properly, and felt only told what I wanted to
hear. Food not appetising, incontinence pads not kept either within her room or toilets so having to ask for one which resulted in 99% chance of soiling. Asking questions about the standard of care was like talking to a brick wall. My mum was regularly crying she had never been so unhappy, which is not my mum. Fortunately, in May 2022 I finally managed to get her moved to a much better care home. From my experience, I could not recommend Saltshouse and Coniston Lodge in particular.

Our mother was a resident in Meaux Lodge for 4-months before she died suddenly in March. I want to thank every single person who cared for our mum; the admin team who arranged her prompt admission, the nursing staff and cleaners who were so kind and caring; she said they were all lovely and she wanted
for nothing. Even the estate's guy; he PAT tested her TV the day we arrived so she could watch her TV as she was initially isolated, that made so much difference to her settling in and to us knowing she wasn't sat in her room without a TV; it was an emotional day for us that day too. She had been ill on and off all of her life, but while she was here, she had never had such long spells being illness free; we thank you so much for that. I would strongly recommend this care home.

I would just like to say how wonderful the staff were. They showed respect and gave endless care and love. The level of attention to medical care was better than the hospital. We were always kept up to date and regularly got full rundowns of her health and dementia, so when we saw her, we knew what
was going on. We don’t know what else to say, except they became her family and ours, and we will miss them, but we know my relative had the best time in their caring hands; thank you.

My aunt has been in Preston Lodge at Saltshouse Haven since August 2019, and I have always been impressed at the way she has been looked after, with the kindness and attentiveness of the staff towards her and other residents.
Every time I have visited, there seems to be someone cleaning, and the residence
is spotless and smells clean, and the carers appear to be attentive, warm and friendly to all of the residents.
I live abroad and have no problems in calling and being able to speak to my aunt, and they have been very fast in advising me if she has any extra health issues.
My aunt used to be in and out of hospital all the time when she lived at home with bladder infections, but I think she has had to make just one visit in the past 2-years as they are very much on top of issues, which gives me great peace of mind, especially in these difficult times.
They also have a Facebook site with videos and photos posted regularly, and it's nice to be able to see her looking healthy

My mum was taken to Salthouse Haven after a stay in hospital. Unfortunately, not long after she had to be placed into palliative care and passed away. The staff took care of both Mum and our family extremely well.
Mum wasn’t there for long and didn’t get a chance to take advantage of any of the activities
on offer, but we are all sure she would have enjoyed it there; we felt it was a lovely place. All the staff we encountered were friendly and genuine, and their care and support were very much appreciated by all of us, and they enabled us to be able to spend some more precious time with her no in her final days.

My father is well looked after. They do lots of activities they do with them every day to keep them entertained. He has a lot of friends, which is a blessing during the pandemic as we can only do window visiting.

Would just like to thank all the staff at Bilton House for their support with my mum. Although we cannot enter the home, the staff always ensure window visits are made as easy and meaningful as possible. Her room is always well kept. My mum moved in several weeks ago as we were no longer able to keep her in her own home due to her Alzheimers starting to take over. The staff have been fantastic, we now know mum is safe, cared for, eating properly, bathing etc, everything we take for granted ourselves. Despite Covid and not been able
to see mum properly, the staff post daily videos and pictures on their Facebook page and mum pops up quite regularly, which is great to see, especially as she is smiling and doing different activities, which she never did at home! Thank you to all the staff, your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed and is massively appreciated by all my family.

Fantastic care, lots of activities. It's a pleasure watching the Facebook page. The staff have really stepped up to the mark. Always keeping in touch informing of any changes. The celebration of Easter, Halloween and Remembrance Day were all well organised - the staff must have worked so hard.

My aunt has been a resident of Salthouse haven for over a year much of which we are not allowed to visit because of the current situation. But as for the care she has received l cannot praise the staff enough, a lot of them go well beyond the call of duty. And l wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home
to anyone.

The carers are lovely and our loved ones are looked after very well. Throughout lockdown, we have had daily updates, photos and videos. There have been so many wonderful activities put on for the residents: pampering, arts and craft, making food and Halloween fun to name just a few. They have links
with the local community: local nursery children make cards and send them to our loved ones, who make cards to send back, and the ice cream man visits in summer. There have been video calls in lockdown, so we still have contact with our loved ones and the carers have remained happy throughout despite the additional challenges and responsibilities that they have had to deal with for 9 months now... and continuing. I would recommend Saltshouse Haven to anyone, it’s like one big family. Good sized rooms, all on the ground level.

I had concerns about my mum going into a care home as I felt she might deteriorate. However, she has flourished, and I feel that this is down to the excellent care she receives there. My father came here needing some respite, unfortunately, he only spent a few weeks here, but during this time, he had lots of fun activity days which we were shown/updated on. He also had a few hospital admissions which were picked up very fast thanks to the team looking after him. He was unable to
walk or communicate and suffered a stroke and was picked up on by the staff, and we were contacted and updated throughout even during the no visiting because of covid etc. Sadly my dad lost his battle, but from all of his children, we are very very thankful for the care he received in his last weeks and also the support afterwards. Caring staff both to the residents and their family members. My mum lived there for two and a half years until her death in September. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they treat the residents like family. I cannot thank them enough for looking after mum so well that I got another
two and a half years with her, which meant she got to see her 4th great-granddaughter. My grandchildren have been able to make memories with her. In mums last weeks, the staff were so kind and caring. They were all genuinely upset when mum passed. Thank you.

Sara is a Registered Nurse by background and Saltshouse Haven Care Home Manager. As a Registered Nurse, Sara has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Sara is ultimately responsible for the effective and professional running of the care home, but will allocate time to discuss any aspect of our Residents' care or any problems they may be experiencing. She is keen to work closely and in partnership with our Residents, their relatives and significant others to benefit the Residents in her care. Sara is a dynamic team leader and has an ongoing interest in professional development and career progression.
