The beautifully prestigious home is situated within six acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in the village of Scorton.

The home is looking after my husband in a caring and efficient manner. His mobility and speech have improved since he became a resident, and his challenging behaviour is managed well. Although visiting is restricted because of Covid regulations, the staff make sure that my visits are pleasant for both
me and my husband. His room is spotlessly clean and tidy. My daily phone call is answered in a very caring manner.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of my husband at a difficult time and being so understanding regarding the circumstances. I came in yesterday, the staff were very friendly, and everywhere was very clean. The nurses have done a great job of keeping him on
track with his medication.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Visited my mother under Covid-19 restrictions, the testing was expertly carried out and the precautions in the home were excellent and well supervised. Staff were very understanding and available if we required any information on the visiting process. Mother is being

My husband with late-stage Alzheimers was admitted to Sycamore Unit during the lockdown. Not an easy time for me as I wasn't able to settle him in myself or look around the home. However, the staff have been very generous with their time, answering my questions with patience and never appearing too
busy to talk to me about him. Fortunately, he settled down much quicker than I expected, probably because the staff are so well trained and really understand his needs. The impression I have gained over the last 6-months is of caring staff, who I would like to take the opportunity to thank. I was really lucky to visit him this week (cheered me up), and he told me he is happy, which is all I can ask at this stage of his illness; I actually saw his old sense of humour a couple of times. The visit was really well organised, and I really appreciate all the extra work it caused. It was nice for me to meet two of the staff, and I now know what their eyes and hair look like! I look forward to visiting!

My husband moved into Scorton Care Village after the home that he was in was taken over by a care home that did not provide the nursing care that my husband needs. Since being at Scorton his condition has improved so much that he is now able to walk a short distance without aid and his delirium and
seizures have decreased greatly. The care given to him by the nursing staff and carers is excellent and his whole wellbeing has improved beyond belief. The only slight downside is the lack of activities provided, I realise the recent pandemic put a stop to outside visits but perhaps a little more music and singing would be a good thing. At the moment he is in unable to watch the television in his own room due to a very bad signal and no WiFi. This, however, is no fault of the home.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Scorton for their hard work in keeping everyone safe during this very trying time and for looking after my husband so well.

My mum was admitted to Elizabeth House unit in August 2019 following the closure of her previous home.
Mum had, at that time, moderate early impairment of cognition and had been diagnosed with dementia and Lewy Bodies. She suffered frequent Urinary Tract infections throughout the months up to Christmas
and leading into New Year. The UTI,s caused mum increased confusion and low mood. Moving home was also a stressful time for her when changes of environment, staff etc were all happening at once.
The staff and management of Elizabeth House have been extremely kind sympathetic and caring in assisting mum in her new home. At present time UTI,s not recurring.
In the period of Covid-19 we have managed to have telephone conversations daily and Zoom call once per week. Whilst mum is not being visited by family she mostly understands we are not allowed to but occasionally forgets.

My mum was admitted to Scorton Care Village after discharge from hospital just under 2 years ago. During that period she has been extremely well cared for and looked after in what was for all of us a difficult time. The staff are always welcoming, warm and accomodating. Recent redecoration and refurbishment
has made a huge difference to the main living areas. The staff and management are always available to chat during our visits and keep us informed when we cannot - such as at the present time.

My brother and his wife were both admitted to Elizabeth House at the end of July 2019, suffering from dementia. We were lucky that a care home could take both of them and keep them in the same room. My brother has displayed some challenging behaviour during his time at the home, but the staff and external
help have been able to manage it very well. More recently, he has been losing a lot of weight but the home has managed to keep him interested in food by having his favourites readily available for him. The home manager and her team are very competent and hard working and we have been very happy with the care my brother and his wife have received.

My uncle has been a resident in Elizabeth House for the last two years. We have been very impressed with the quality of care shown and the high standards of the care staff.

My brother was an emergency placement at Elizabeth House for his own safety. On our first visit to him, we found him to be very content and settled so we asked that he stay there permanently.


My brother has now been there for nearly two years and we have been impressed with the standard of care,

kindness and professionalism of all members of staff. They know all their residents and interact with them throughout the day. We like the way the manager refers to the residents as “guests” and Elizabeth House is their home. The home is clean and not overcrowded at full capacity. Residents are at liberty to wander around the building and there is a garden with roaming chickens. There are regular outings and activities.

If the manager has concerns about my brother, she keeps me informed e.g. when he wasn’t eating properly she told us how they were encouraging him to do so. There are also regular “family” meetings to keep us all up to date with what is happening at Elizabeth House.

My father has resided in the Elizabeth House wing for the past 30 months, the building currently has around 30 residents.
He is well settled there and receives good attention from all the staff who treat him and all the residents, with respect and friendliness.


I'm not there at meal times to judge

on quality, however, he regularly mentions that he enjoys the food and regular tea/biscuits handouts.


Room decor is dated and would benefit from a general makeover, fresh paint/carpeting etc.
I understand that this will be addressed over the coming months.

My wife has been a resident at Elizabeth House for over two years and the care shown by the staff is truly wonderful. My wife's dementia is clearly getting worse and her needs are continually changing but the staff are able to manage her care due to their ability to adapt to everyone's needs. It gives
me great confidence to know that the care provided there will always meet her needs. Elizabeth House is a clean and pleasant place to be and offers good and varied meals. a brilliant team who are always keen to help in any way they can.

I believe the care to be basic but that they do try to assist residents. There are many varied needs of the residents and perhaps they do not have the time or facilities to cater for some special needs.

Scorton Care Home is a beautiful place. The staff are so friendly and the residents always are cared for. Our relative especially, she looks so well since moving here. When a family member is suffering from dementia it is the hardest decision on where to place them and will they get the best care and attention they deserve. I can’t say enough about Elizabeth House. The staff there are amazing, they treat patients as family members and they get the highest standards
of care. They smile with the residents and give them the respect that they deserve.
The home is immaculate (great cleaners!) and the food is really good.
The downstairs area allows space for residents to walk around and it has an adjoining dining area. The garden is a safe environment for residents to walk around.
My father has been at Elizabeth House for a year and I am safe in the knowledge that each week when I walk away I know that he is safe and being given the care he needs. I can’t thank all the staff enough, and especially the manager. It’s the team of people that make a care home and Elizabeth House has got this right. I would definitely recommend it.

I would recommend Elizabeth House to any family wanting care for their family member.
The staff are very welcoming and provide excellent support to not only my father but all the residents.
As a family, we were devastated to put our father in care, but it was made so much better with the continuing

I would recommend Elizabeth House and the superb staff to any family wanting assurance their loved ones will be receive the highest standards and level of care.


The staff are always smiling, attentive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents and family feel welcome and provide excellent

personalised support to match each resident’s requirements.


Organised family days allow chance to meet fellow residents and the Elizabeth House team to discuss levels of care and activities.


There is a good sized communal area and adjoining dining facility with the added bonus of a good garden area to allow residents to have interests both inside and out.


Heartfelt thanks to the Homecare Manager Alina and the team who go the extra mile to care for our loved ones. We could not have felt more welcome.

Job Title: Home manager Joined: 2014

I moved to the UK after living in Italy which time I completed further education to a high standard working in a senior role. My first role upon arriving here in the UK was as a Care Assistant at Scorton Care Village, North Yorkshire. This position gave me an insight into social care and I quickly made many connections within the area on a personal and professional level. My existing skills, knowledge, and experience gave me the opportunity to advance my career by seeking more challenging roles, including Unit Manager and Deputy Manager, before assuming my current position as the Registered Home Manager. During the past few years, I have actioned many changes within the service, achieving an overall “Good” from CQC and raising the profile of the home.


I consider myself to be fair, firm, honest, and committed to my role. I take pride in my work and am resolute when it comes to my responsibilities and accountabilities towards the service, residents, and staff. I am dedicated to ensuring that residents and staff receive the best support at Scorton Care Village and that I continue to make a difference.
