Crystal Court

My dad was on the Alzheimer's floor. He was happy, well cared for and always clean. The staff were all diligent, caring and approachable. On the night he died, we were given every support and comfort. All was calm and respectful.

Mum was admitted to Crystal Court for respite care after being discharged from the hospital. The care staff and support were excellent. Mum was treated with dignity and respect. Mum enjoyed her time at Crystal Court.

I am a mental health nurse and an Independent Mental Capacity Assessor and I visited one of your residents to carry out a capacity assessment and act as certificate provider for her LPA. The lady in question has communication difficulties and I was helped enormously by your activities co-ordinator. She showed great kindness to the resident and it was clear that she knew her really well and cared about her. She was also very skilled in being able to communicate with the resident and knowledgeable about what mental capacity entails. You must be very proud to have her on your team.

After a settling-in period, my wife now has a new home and she is happy, which makes me happy. The manager and her team are exceptional. Full marks.

All the staff, nurses, carers, manager and maintenance team are very organised and efficient but with an extremely caring and happy nature.

My mother-in-law moved into Crystal Court just before Christmas 2022 after a 2-month stint in the hospital after being diagnosed with flu and pneumonia. Her already complex and severe medical and emotional needs have deteriorated since being admitted. Our family sincerely like to commend and thank the staff at Crystal Court for often going above and beyond and also for their patience, kindness, tolerance and genuine care, which we all including my mother-in-law. Really appreciated.

My whole family have been delighted with our choice of care home and feel we could not have bettered it.

This is not a negative comment about any of the staff or management but I do think the dementia ward/wing would benefit from another member of staff.

My family member was treated with nothing but respect and kindness, nothing was too much trouble. The home manager and deputies were approachable and kind. Food was good, always offering an alternative. The carers worked exceptionally hard but had time to listen to my family member which meant a lot, for that I thank you. You are all angles, well done and again thank you all.

We had to place my lovely mum in Crystal Court Care Home when her dementia became so advanced that we could no longer care for her at home (she had lived with us for six years). Whilst it was a heartbreaking decision and she had to go in during lockdown, the staff cared for her very well and she settled quickly. She was well cared for and the staff clearly knew her by name and knew her likes and dislikes well. This gave us great comfort when she eventually passed away peacefully in July 2022 at 92. She lived at Crystal Court for seventeen months and I can genuinely say that I don't believe anywhere else would have cared for her as well as Crystal Court did. They treated her with dignity and respect and enjoyed a laugh and joke with her. She was very happy there. Any issues we raised were dealt with promptly and effectively. Communication was very good, particularly when she had any medical issues. Thank you staff at Crystal Court - highly recommended.

My mother is a resident of Crystal Court Care Home. When I visit her I feel welcome, I find the atmosphere in the home calm and friendly and the manager very approachable. Every member of the staff greets my mother by name, just one example of the respect shown to my mother and other residents. The carers who look after my mother are kind and thoughtful and it is clear that they know her well and care about her. They treat her as an individual and with dignity. I am so pleased that we chose Crystal Court when my mother needed to move into a care home. I thoroughly recommend Crystal Court to any relative of a person with dementia.

Traumatic experience. All good to start with but these turned out to be empty promises. My Mother's care was not at the forefront of her being looked after in this care home. Her care plan had other residents' details names, date of birth, etc in it. It did lead me to question was she receiving the correct care. Staff issues and staff shortages, and low morale lead to some poor quality service. Incorrect information in her care plan did compromise my Mother's health. I do have photographic evidence of this. District nurses raised safeguarding against the home and I had to raise one which included numerous points. All agreed in a meeting with the home manager and social services to be substantiated. Some staff were lovely and attentive, but terribly overworked, whilst others just did not care. Requested information from Home Manager which was ignored and never responded to! This all resulted in moving my Mother to a better care facility. Crystal Court, poor home badly run!

My mother was a resident at Crystal Court Care Home from 2020 until 2022. She was treated with compassion and kindness by staff in the home throughout her stay, even though "lockdowns" made visiting difficult for the family. Even though we were not with her when she died, we were allowed to sit with her for a while that morning which was a great help to me and my sister. As my mother would have said, "thank you for caring".

My uncle has lived at Crystal Court for three years. During this time, he has been treated with kindness, love and dignity. His care has been excellent throughout, and we feel very lucky he has been kept safe throughout Covid. His recent passing was made easier for us knowing he was cared for by familiar faces who really cared for him and us as a family. Thank you, we are very grateful.

Fantastic staff, helpful and considerate. The hygiene and cleanliness of the home are exceptional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Crystal Court Care Home to anyone who has any worries about where to place an ageing relative.

My mother and I have been visiting my father since June 2020. Now we are allowed in we are far more aware of the excellent care he is receiving. My dad always looks clean, shaven and cared for, and well-fed. And Dad always responds to whichever carer comes in to see us when we are there - in a good way. And we always feel welcomed when we visit.
