My Dad recently passed away at Mulberry Court Care Home after living there for 6 years. He arrived at the home in very difficult circumstances during COVID. He was very much cared for when there was restricted visiting and they looked after him when my Mum died in May 2020. Mulberry Court was very much his home and he was loved by the staff. They treated him with dignity and respect right up until the end. I will really miss visiting because it is such a therapeutic, calm and kind environment. A huge thank you to everyone at Mulberry Court!

My sister was discharged from hospital to Mulberry Court following a sudden serious illness. She only lived 9 days. Everything about the home was great - staff, residents and visitors made me feel welcome The home was comfortable and above all the staff looked after her with care and tenderness.
Feeling welcome and supporting families through the hard times is something we pride ourselves with.
Thank you again for trusting Mulberry and the Team to care for someone so precious to you
Have a very Merry Christmas from all of us here
I have spent two months in Mulberry Court, and cannot praise it highly enough. The home is run to the highest standards, with clear leadership from the excellent Manager.
All the staff - managers, reception, nurses, carers, housekeeping, entertainments, chefs, kitchen, maintenance and gardening - are visible to residents, offering friendliness and help at every opportunity. The home feels like a large family home.
Residents are treated with loving care, warmth and respect. Smiling staff move cheerfully, quietly and purposefully around the home. I had attentive help whenever needed from the amazing carers. There is a lot of laughter too.
Everyone went out of their way to make my stay really enjoyable.

You don't know what you don't know do you? When someone who has been independent has a few weeks of not being so, you really don't know what to expect.
Staff at Mulberry Court were really flexible about dates and the level of service that would be needed, and in the end, luckily my mother-in-law didn't need nursing, just lots of support. Staff were really sensitive and helpful with dressings, meds (including liaising with her own doctor who is out of the area) personal care, and just being chatty and friendly whilst she got back on her feet (quite literally!).
I would recommend Mulberry Court for its friendliness, flexibility and attention to detail. And very nice cakes in reception!

My dad has been at Barchester Mulberry Court Care Home for ten months now. We, as a family, can't fault all they do for my father and his health and well-being have been so much better since he came to Mulberry last July. The staff have been brilliant and I can't thank them enough for looking after my dad and also taking care of my mum who visits every day.
Thank you for your kind words, Nick, we strive to ensure the care is person-centred and the residents are always our main focus, I will pass on your kind words to the team. Please do look out for upcoming events for the family to attend, especially the beer tasting next month.
First-class. The staff not only care for my husband but look after me as well.

The care my dad has received is excellent, also the support myself, my brother, and especially my mum have received, has been exemplary, especially from the unit manager. Meet the Team (11)
Hi, my name is Joshy and I am the Deputy Manager at Mulberry Court.
I have been a qualified RGN since 2005 and have worked in nursing homes and rehabilitation centres bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home.
In 2016 I relocated to York and joined the Mulberry Court team as a staff nurse progressing my career to Unit Manager and now Deputy Manager in 2020. I aim to deliver the highest standard of nursing care to our Residents. I am a friendly and approachable person.
Hello, my name is Ida and I am one of the Unit Managers here at Mulberry Court. I have worked here for many years and enjoy providing high-quality nursing care for residents.
The unit I am responsible for is called ‘The Ridings’ and is on the ground floor of the building. I like to encourage team cooperation and good communication and create an atmosphere that feels welcoming for everybody
I worked at Mulberry Court as a Bank Nurse for many years, whilst also having a career in the NHS. In 2017, I was invited to apply for the role of Unit Manager by the management team. I was successful in my application and took up the post in July of that year.
The unit I am responsible for is called ‘Regency Suite’ and is on the first floor of the building. I am very proud of the work I do at Mulberry Court, promoting good nursing care for residents and fostering a sense of team spirit and a welcoming atmosphere.
Hi my name is Toni and I started my journey with Mulberry Court back in 1999 at just 16 years old, my mum worked as a carer at the time and I loved the residents and atmosphere and so my Mulberry court career started as a waitress after school, then a carer before moving into the laundry. At that time I stayed for 7 years before having my children, I had a place at university but decided it wasn’t for me so came back to Mulberry Court and was quickly promoted to a senior carer role before becoming a care practitioner a role I love and continue to do.
Hi, I'm Mark I am the new head chef here at Mulberry Court Care Home, I've been working in the hospitality sector for over 20 years now after starting in a country pub at the tender age of just 14 washing up!
That is where they began to teach me how to cook and that’s when my love for cooking and this career path began, once I’d finished my exams at school, I then went to York College to gain both experience and a recognised qualification.
As I progressed and furthered my career, I worked in several places before I then became head chef at a number of busy restaurants both in and around the York area developing my skills further as I went.
Outside of work, I have two young children who are my absolute world and when I am not at work, I will be found doing something with them.
Hi, my name is Debbie and I am the Hospitality Services Manager here at Mulberry Court. I have worked at Mulberry Court for 20 years starting as a carer and then onto housekeeping and hospitality.
I enjoy my job very much particularly meeting and speaking to residents on my rounds. I pride myself on having high standards and am dedicated to maintaining a clean and tidy homely environment with the support of my housekeeping team.
I am always willing to help out wherever I can and believe in teamwork to give our residents the best lifestyle we can.
Hi my name is Craig and I took on the role as head of maintenance in June 2024 after running my own property maintenance business for around 4 years, it has been a big change for me from working on my own for so long to being part of a team again but no two days are ever the same here at mulberry with lots of variation in the jobs/tasks that I do on a daily basis.
It’s nice to be able chat to with residents whilst carrying out my work hear their stories, and life experiences and learn about their varied backgrounds.
I have settled in well here at Mulberry and I look forward to using my knowledge and background for some projects around the lovely home and award-winning gardens we have here at Mulberry Court.
Hi my name is Zoe I am the lead activities co-ordinator here at Mulberry Court, I started in January 2024 having previously worked at another care home on reception, however, I started doing more and more activities with the residents there so when I got the chance to move across to a Barchester home and do the role of lead I took the opportunity.
I have always enjoyed organising and am usually the one in the family who brings everyone together and sorts things so I feel I have found my true calling!
I am so lucky to be able to say I love my job, no two days are ever the same, although every day is so rewarding and to know I have made a difference to someone is the greatest feeling whether that’s through a group activity or an individual room visit to even stopping and saying a few words to them.
Hi, my name is Chantana, and I started at Barchester at Mulberry Court in August 2025 as an activities assistant, having previously spent the last decade as a carer, travelling to see people in their own homes and offer all kinds of assistance.
I am really looking forward to this new role and using my transferable skills to help the residents enjoy their days.
Hi, my name is Jilly and I have just celebrated ten years here at Mulberry Court, having joined the team in 2015. I started as a carer before moving across to the housekeeping team.
I am now responsible for doing all the laundry within the home.
I am Eileen. I have lived at Mulberry Court for several years now and really enjoy my role as resident ambassador, helping new residents settle in and form friendships, as well as visiting those who are bed-bound and offering them companionship sessions.
