Overall Experience

The home has been under special measures since October 2017 shortly after my wife was admitted. As a result, occupancy has been around 50% of capacity and this has also been a time where a high number of agency staff has been employed meaning a lack of continuity in both nursing and care staff.

Those staff - nurses, carers, housekeepers and catering who have been present throughout have shown an appreciative level of dedication and compassion.

My mum was a resident for just a short time. The care, attention and love shown to my mum was excellent in every way. Without the care she received we couldn't have managed. The staff went out of their way in every detail. At the very end, two members of staff stayed with us and explained what to expect which made the process easier to handle and at the end, the love shown by all staff was above and beyond duty for which we will be eternally grateful and have no hesitation in recommending Stephenson Court to anyone in the same situation we were in.

We were made very welcome.
The team are friendly and professional.
Good systems seem to be in place.
The team currently in place would benefit from more staff being recruited - I believe current vacancies are being advertised.
The food is very good - a varied diet including vegetables, fish and chip Fridays and a Sunday roast!
Entertainment is provided along with social support.

Everyone seems to care about the residents, which is reassuring.

Despite being unable to cope independently for some time now, my aunt was eager to remain at home. After a couple of weeks at Stephenson Court, she has acknowledged an inability to remain in her home and has stated she is happy at the facility.

Now request is too big and all the staff are extremely friendly. The food is wonderful.

Review from Magraret P (Sister of Resident) published on 2 September 2016 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister entered Stephenson Court straight from the hospital. She has a long history of heart failure. The care my sister received from every member of staff was first class. She settled in very quickly due to the care and attention she received. We the family, were most grateful knowing she was well cared for and we also were well looked after with cups of tea, coffee and biscuits. We were kept informed daily of my sisters health issues and had every confidence that she was kept comfortable. Cannot thank them enough.
