Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Chichester Court Care Home South Shields for a number of years and I cannot thank the staff enough for the ongoing care they provide. When my mother first moved in, the transition for her was daunting. However, the management team and carers showed patience, compassion and dignity until she settled. The facility itself is clean, warm and safe. My mother enjoys the home cooked meals. I am always welcomed warmly whenever I visit. If a medical situation that my mother is having requires treatment the staff are very proactive and is processed quickly and effectively.

We were very happy with the care our mam received during the 5 years she was with you. The staff always treated her with dignity, kindness, and respect, and took the time to understand her individual needs. It gave us great comfort knowing she was safe, well cared for, and supported every day. The carers were compassionate, attentive, and always approachable. We are truly grateful for the excellent care and support provided to both our mam and our family.

My Dad lived at Chichester Court between August 2024 to March 2026. The love, respect and care provided to him was exemplary. He was very much a part of the Chichester Court family and treated as such.

The staff are all amazing. They are a credit to themselves and the home. They really looked after my Dad physically, mentally and emotionally and provided lots of stimulation and activities for him and all the residents.

I could not have asked for any more of a care home.

The support they gave to my mother and I when he died was also gratefully appreciated.

I cannot thank them enough.

My brother was admitted for end of life care in October 25. He was autistic and had withdrawn into himself. I can't thank all of the staff enough for the care he was given. The staff were getting to know his facial expressions to understand what he was trying to say. They made sure he ate and drank encouraging him all the way. Thank you all again so very much.

My mam was admitted into Chichester Court Care Home for emergency respite following my Dad getting admitted to hospital. She spent 2 1/2 weeks in there and loved every second of her stay as the staff really looked after and made a fuss of her. Mam usually doesn't eat much, however, whilst there she ate every meal put in front of her. The place did not smell at all and was always clean. The staff were very friendly and inviting with myself and my family.

I would 100% recommend this care home! Well done!

I couldn't be happier with the care mum is receiving since her admission in May. She has gone from someone who was isolated to being content, sociable and well cared for. Its lovely to see her eating well and accepting support with her personal care. Mum is now thriving.

We were very happy with the whole Chichester Court Care Home experience. My in-laws went in for a short period of respite care and stayed for seven months. During that time, we were confident they were being well-looked after by the caring and efficient staff team. Chichester Court has a lovely atmosphere and is highly recommended.

It is now 12 months since my sister in law became a resident of Chichester Court Care Home. Her family and myself would like to express our thanks to all of the staff for the care and attention they give to her. They are always patient, pleasant, attentive and kind to her. They understand her needs and go out of their way to ensure she is well cared for and treated with respect. They welcome visitors and we all feel part of a big happy family when we visit. They have regular entertainment for the residents, and the families are always welcome to join in. They ensure she eats her meals to the best of their ability, and show patience with her as she is a slow eater. When she is poorly, they ensure that she is monitored and if necessary they will immediately call in medical professionals to deal with the problem. We are happy that she is living in a clean, warm, caring environment.

Thank you to all of the staff.

Treat my 94-year-old mam with respect and dignity at all times. The staff made Mam laugh which made Mam very happy. They did their best to make Mam as comfortable and relaxed even when she was in extreme pain, staff always had a smile when talking to Mam. Treat us as a family well and kept us informed at all times of what was happening. Their end-of-life care was compassionate and caring. Nothing was ever a bother to any of the staff. I would like to recommend this care home to anyone who requires a nursing home and thanks to them Mam had a good end of life.

After moving from a settled care home needing increased medical care when my dad was first admitted, we called in without prior warning and found a member of staff feeding my dad who was just recovering from a bad infection. He had maintained his dignity and was kept comfortable throughout his stay. I as his next of kin have been very happy with the care and respect the staff give all the residents. Skills specific to my dad's needs were available and his support throughout has been exemplary. The home has lots of activities and amenities for the residents and try hard to keep the residents active and engaged. The manager is very approachable with a hands-on style. She has a good knowledge of the needs of each individual resident and personality. We had called in unannounced and she gave us a medical and behavioral update without needing to refer to any notes when asked about changes we as the family had noticed. My dad recently passed away in hospital.

My auntie has been treated with respect and dignity. Originally went in for end-of-life care but still here eight months later. She is totally deaf and doesn't make friends easily but two staff members in particular have been really lovely, bringing her out of her shell. They work really hard and take the time to talk to her and listen.
