Garden Hill care home provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care in a friendly, welcoming environment.

The home which is purpose-built is located over three floors and offers en-suite bedrooms on each floor. On the ground floor, there is a self-service coffee shop, conservatory, lounge and dining room. The middle floor has a cinema room and the top floor another dining room for residents. The home has secluded, spacious gardens.

The home has a 5 star food hygiene certificate and offers cooked breakfast, choice of lunch and dinner as well as a hospitality trolley with home made cakes made in the home kitchen.

The home has a full-time activities coordinator who organises a variety of fun and creative activities, entertainment and events for residents to choose from depending on their interests and hobbies.

Organised day trips and charity fundraising events give the home strong links with the local community and people from outside the home are often invited to take part in entertainment and events.

My brother has been here for 2 weeks so far. I cannot praise the staff enough. Their care has been spot on. My brother (not known for praise) has actually commented on how great the staff have been with him and how lovely the meals are. High praise indeed.

Needs a room for visitors also and a relatives area where we can make tea/coffee (otherwise very good). Thank you.
My resident has not had a working TV in room since arriving (6 months), apparently aerial not fixed for top floor residents.
Handyman supposedly fixing - but has not. Can this be rectified
please, as TV is company.

My mum came to Garden Hill Care Home from hospital. The staff are fantastic, they take her out, have family events that we can join in and make memories. The home is lovely and she enjoys her meals. The manager is very helpful and no job is to big or small for her.

My father was in the care of Garden Hill for 2 weeks until he sadly passed away. In that time, he was treated with respect and caring, from staff that quickly became our friends. They are all lovely people, who really care about their residents. My dad required nursing care, which I cannot fault. At
the end, we were informed with enough time to be with him. They were very kind to us as a family. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Garden Hill to anyone with such needs as ours. Thank you so much.

Before my 100 year old mother went into Garden Hill she was very quiet and reserved. Since being there, she has joined in all activities, chats to other residents and has settled very well and is happy.
Every member if staff go the extra mile to take care of the residents. My husband and I describe

Our mother in law has really enjoyed her week in this home. She came in quite withdrawn and quiet, over the week she has blossomed, taken part in activities. Can't praise the staff enough nothing a both, very friendly and caring. Always checking on her welfare making sure she had everything she needed.
She has really enjoyed her meals and has said she would def come back.

Both my mam and dad have experience in this home. My mam died there in September 2024. The most awful experience in our lives was respectfully, sensitively and professionally dealt with by the staff. The staff are the home's best asset. No problem is insurmountable and my dad wanted to be in this particular
care home now that he has stage 4 cancer. We as a family, cannot praise the home enough. Dad's every need is catered for and he is so happy and settled there. Yes, there are better homes building-wise in the area, but the most important thing, the care is the home's best asset and that cannot be respected enough.

Although my mother was only in Garden Hill for 4 months I would not have wanted her to have been cared for anywhere else. My mother passed away in March and the care, dignity and respect offered to her was second to none.
I watched in horror sometimes how the staff were treated by residents' family
and I often wondered how they tolerated it without losing their temper. Garden Hill should be very proud of what they have in their staff from the very top to the bottom.

My mam went into Garden Hill on 5th March, it was Mam and Dad's 70th wedding anniversary next day and staff did a beautiful job of helping to make it lovely and memorable for us as a family. My mam was finding it so hard to adjust to being without Dad though and staff have been excellent in helping
her settle in, management have been so pleasant and helpful getting everything sorted out as we haven't a clue about it all and the home itself exceeded our expectations. It is indeed lovely. I haven't seen the food but I know Mam is happy: good not excellent.

The staff are fantastic - very attentive to my dad's needs/support. The food, however, isn't the best, my dad states (I myself haven't seen). I find the entry and exit of the care home a nightmare, this is not a fault of the staff as they have residents to attend to. There needs to be either a fob/code
given to relatives to get in/out of the home 1. to not take the staff away from their duties and 2. to stop the waiting around in the doorway, sometimes up to 15 minutes.

My Mam recently went to Garden Hill following a terminal cancer diagnosis. The support, care, kindness and compassion we received from all of the staff there was truly outstanding. My Mam was treated exceptionally by them throughout her stay and passed away with dignity. I truly believe we could not
have gotten through the last two weeks without them and will always be grateful and in awe of the care, she received while in their care. They made a devastating time so much easier to cope with - thank you.
