My mother-in-law is so happy at this care home. She is so well looked after and cared for even though she has very challenging needs. Staff are fantastic with her and treat her like their own family. She loves the food and has even gained some weight which was definitely needed from when she first arrived. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

My mother is being looked after by the lovely staff in Donwell House. She has dementia and is immobile due to breaking her hip and not being able to walk now, but the carers are fabulous and make sure she’s comfortable and attended to. I don’t live close by and rely on them to do everything for her.

As you walk into Donwell House it is very welcoming. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and approachable. The residents are looked after very well. Even through this difficult time of Covid, the staff have worked tirelessly to make sure the residents are kept safe and well. Many thanks on behalf of our family.

My father in law age 96 was in Donwell House Nursing Home due to fall risk and with Alzheimer's Dementia and severely sight impaired along with other problems. The care that he recieved was second to none, he was a gentleman that did not want to leave his own home but settled in very quickly due to the friendly staff and around the clock supervision. He has now sadly passed away and I can't express my thanks enough to everyone in Donwell House Nursing Home for the loving care that he received also to the support given to myself and my son.
Everyone is extremely friendley and thoughtful to your needs.

Keep up the good work you are stars.

Where do I start? The staff, management and running of this care facility is amazing. They all care and the comfort, care, dignity and happiness of the resident are their top priority. The activity's undertaken by the home are fun and thoughtful. My mum is constantly smiling. The staff here do not stop, but nothing is too much trouble and are always friendly and smiling. The nursing side also deserves high praise. My dad is being looked after with care and dignity as life is drawing to an end, their kindness will be remembered.

The staff and management were brilliant with my husband; gave him the best care anyone could have. He was only in a short time, but I felt he was given all the care he needed. He had a lovely room, very clean and comfortable. I am very grateful to everybody who looked after him in his last few days.

My mother was a resident in Donwell House for 9 months before she passed away. Mam needed a lot of care as she was double incontinent and could hardly walk. Her room was always clean and tidy (bedding changed daily) as were her clothes.
The carers took great pride in their work and mam was always dress in coordinating colours, then a matching blanket would be added as she was watching tv in the resident's lounge. there were always plenty of enticing food and drinks around if mam wished to snack between meals.

The care and compassion shown were excellent. My mother died during the coronavirus lockdown but the manager made sure gwe could still visit mam as she did not have the coronavirus herself so we could be with her as she passed.

My mother has been in Donwell House since September 2019, in this time she has been looked after extremely well. The staff have gone above and beyond there normal duties, displaying exceptional professional and empathy at all times during the time leading up to my mothers passing. I was kept involved and the communications were excellent. This was also under exceptional circumstances (Covid-19), therefore every member of staff at Donwell House should be commended.

I had a good friend who lived at Donwell for five years until her death in December 2019 since new management came in I seen great improvement while my friend lived there, I would recommend this home to anyone who is considering to put a family member in Donwell to have a look around it. In the last few months of my friend's life she was looked after well and if I had any complaints I knew management would sort it out.

I would definitely recommend this care home, the staff are 2nd to none. My dad is extremely happy and enjoys the outings arranged by the activities coordinator. He really enjoys his meals and has put weight on since he arrived there in September 2919. Previously he wasn't eating properly. So all in all a really good plus for the hone. The manager is fab and always has time to listen to your chat.

As a friend of several residents, I am very impressed with every aspect of the home, particularly the care and compassion shown by the staff.
The home has now become a “Community Hub” encouraging all parts of the community to hold meetings/events etc also involving residents in the activities.
There is a varied amount of activities carried out both in the home and community, this also involves regular trips out on the Minibus.

Staff are lovely, home is very clean and management is efficient and effective.

I am absolutely satisfied with the care given to my mother. The staff are wonderful, there is such a caring family atmosphere. There are so many things going on and very well organised involving the local community from the local nursery and junior schools and singalongs that get everyone feeling happy. There are many organised excursions in the minibus. My mother is always well-groomed and clean with hair and nails done. The food seems to be very good and plentiful, and the place is kept very clean. I only have good things to say about Donwell House and would unreservedly recommend it with 5 stars.

My mum came into Donwell House after a number of falls and a spell in hospital. She settled in really well, the staff have made her so relaxed and made her feel at home. She has come on so well and is now getting involved in activities. When she was at home she just wanted to stay in bed and did not interact with anyone. Mum is looking well and says she feels well.

I love to visit her and feel happy that she is happy.

Since the new manager has come to the home, it is much more relaxing for service users. The home has gone from strength to strength.
There is so much more going on for both residents and their families.

Totally recommend this home.

My dad was in Donwell House for 4 weeks before sadly passing away. We can't praise all the staff highly enough for the way they looked after our dad. It was a hard decision to put him in a care home but his Alzheimer's was at the stage where he needed 24-hour care and this was given by the dedicated and caring staff who made his last few weeks happy and contented. Thank you so much.

Very kind and caring staff are looking after mam and making sure she is living as full a life as she can. The home has a very friendly atmosphere with lots of activities for the residents. Mam has complex health needs and the nursing staff are doing a wonderful job of meeting those needs. It's great to know she is happy and safe.

The overall experience as a family member visiting a resident is positive. Pleasant staff and a good standard of care is given, however when visiting, a regular occurrence is that when residents start arguing with each other, sometimes in a physical manner, and there are no staff on the floor due to other duties, we find ourselves having to go to look for staff. If no one is found, we have to intercede which isn't what we want to do, but for the safety of the residents, it has happened that we have had to guide residents away from each other. Another staff member on the floor would possibly remedy this.

My father in law moved to Donwell House in May 2017 from a residential home where he never left his room or spoke to anyone.
Since coming to Donwell House he is out of his room all the time, eating his meals with other residents and interacting with staff.
My father in law has come on so much because of the level of care he receives from all the staff.
The carers are amazing, caring, loving people.
They are kind and considerate of all his needs.
The nursing staff are second to none, if he had still been in the other home we wouldn't have him here. Because of Donwell House, I can still spend quality time with him.

Thank you to all the staff.
