I am absolutely satisfied with the care given to my mother. The staff are wonderful, there is such a caring family atmosphere. There are so many things going on and very well organised involving the local community from the local nursery and junior schools and singalongs that get everyone feeling happy.
There are many organised excursions in the minibus. My mother is always well-groomed and clean with hair and nails done. The food seems to be very good and plentiful, and the place is kept very clean. I only have good things to say about Donwell House and would unreservedly recommend it with 5 stars.

My mum came into Donwell House after a number of falls and a spell in hospital. She settled in really well, the staff have made her so relaxed and made her feel at home. She has come on so well and is now getting involved in activities. When she was at home she just wanted to stay in bed and did not
interact with anyone. Mum is looking well and says she feels well.
I love to visit her and feel happy that she is happy.

Since the new manager has come to the home, it is much more relaxing for service users. The home has gone from strength to strength.
There is so much more going on for both residents and their families.
Totally recommend this home.

My dad was in Donwell House for 4 weeks before sadly passing away. We can't praise all the staff highly enough for the way they looked after our dad. It was a hard decision to put him in a care home but his Alzheimer's was at the stage where he needed 24-hour care and this was given by the dedicated
and caring staff who made his last few weeks happy and contented. Thank you so much.

My mum has been in Donwell House Nursing Home for five years. She has a full life and never dull. The staff are fab and the home is clean and fresh.

Very kind and caring staff are looking after mam and making sure she is living as full a life as she can. The home has a very friendly atmosphere with lots of activities for the residents. Mam has complex health needs and the nursing staff are doing a wonderful job of meeting those needs. It's great
to know she is happy and safe.

The overall experience as a family member visiting a resident is positive. Pleasant staff and a good standard of care is given, however when visiting, a regular occurrence is that when residents start arguing with each other, sometimes in a physical manner, and there are no staff on the floor due to
other duties, we find ourselves having to go to look for staff. If no one is found, we have to intercede which isn't what we want to do, but for the safety of the residents, it has happened that we have had to guide residents away from each other. Another staff member on the floor would possibly remedy this.

My father in law moved to Donwell House in May 2017 from a residential home where he never left his room or spoke to anyone.
Since coming to Donwell House he is out of his room all the time, eating his meals with other residents and interacting with staff.
My father in law has come on so much because
of the level of care he receives from all the staff.
The carers are amazing, caring, loving people.
They are kind and considerate of all his needs.
The nursing staff are second to none, if he had still been in the other home we wouldn't have him here. Because of Donwell House, I can still spend quality time with him.
Thank you to all the staff.
