Bryony Lodge Care Home is located in Sunderland's Grangetown area and is close to shops, amenities, public transport and the A19.

This purpose-built care home provides accommodation in single occupancy rooms, all of which have en-suite facilities.

Bryony Lodge features TV lounges and a quiet sitting room for relaxation. Separate dining rooms, where residents can socialise at meal times, are also available. Traditional home cooked food is served using fresh produce, with residents being able to select from the choices available daily. Special diets can be catered for.

Residents may benefit from the regular visits made to the home by an experienced hair stylist and qualified chiropodist. Complementary therapies can be arranged.

The home provides a varied programme of activities for residents' enjoyment.

My mother has been a resident of Bryony Lodge since October 2021 and I can't fin a fault with anything. The staff are very supportive and treat my mother with great respect. Everyone is very friendly and her room is kept very clean at all times. My mam is very happy here!

Mt mam has been here since February. The care she receives is better than any care I could have given. Always doing something (activities), always clean, well fed and looked after. She has made numerous friends and is willing to take part. if I have any problems/questions, there is always someone around

Urgent admission at a busy time was handled impeccably. The home went out of their way to help us further by providing another room for partner. Both individuals had various, quite complex medical needs which were fully looked after during their stay. Any questions we had due to the urgent admission
were fully answered and the family were being helped by knowing that both parents were receiving the best care and attention available at a difficult time. All of the staff were very friendly and professional towards them and they both said that no one could have done more to help them, the staff were amazing. They were kept occupied and involved with the variety of activities that were provided. The whole family were appreciative of the help that was received throughout their stay of both parents.

I have always highly rated this residential care home. The staff are always professional. Recently my mother has been ill and I cannot express how professional all of their staff have been leading on from my first phone call regarding my mother everyone of their staff have been amazing. The care, compassion
and empathy which they have shown not only to my mother but the entire family has been amazing. Excellent staff members.

My mother came in with little quality of life and the home has really turned things around for her. Staff are so helpful and I am sure the care she has received has allowed her to be able to go home with support. If she becomes poorly again, I shall certainly request a place again.

Hi, I am the Home Manager here at Bryony Lodge Nursing Home!


I am proud to say that I am a dedicated qualified registered manager I have completed QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management. And I am fortunate to be in a position to lead such a wonderful group of staff I have worked in healthcare since I was 19 and started out as a healthcare assistant within a care home providing complex nursing care for residents, as well as rehabilitation and palliative care. I also managed a Home Care business where I provided help and support into the community.


I love my role at Bryony Lodge and take great pride in supporting the team. The nurses and the staff are a dedicated and well-established group, and are all very proactive. I live local to the care home so I have good knowledge of the area.


Our staff are what holds the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring the residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home.v
