My parents were moved to 24-hour care together at Marigold and the team there are providing excellent care not only to them but also supporting the family through one of the most difficult things to face. All the team members are friendly and helpful, they all go above and beyond to provide the highest
standards of care for my parents who both have very different needs, nothing is too much for them. I would highly recommend a placement there and the confidence I now have about them being safe is priceless!

Daphne was made to feel welcome, valued and respected from the beginning which helped us feel more comfortable. The staff were always available to share our worries with and help if possible. Daphne was helped to live her last few years with safety and dignity. Thank you.
Reply from Helen Spurgeon, Home Manager at Read HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share these kind words. It truly means a great deal to us to know that Daphne felt welcomed, valued, and respected throughout her time with us. Hearing that you and your family felt comfortable and supported is something we hold close, because creating that sense of trust and reassurance is at the heart of what we aim to do every day.

We're grateful that you felt able to share your worries with the team and that their presence brought you comfort. Knowing that Daphne was able to live her final years with dignity, safety, and compassion is incredibly important, and we are honoured to have been part of her life during that time.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message. Your appreciation is deeply felt by all of us.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 7 months, and I have total faith that she is in very safe and caring hands. The staff are very caring and well trained in dealing with dementia patients, which must be very challenging. Jean enjoys her meals, and the choice is very good indeed. I couldn't wish
for a nicer care home for my mother, and I am always made welcome by the staff when I visit.

Mum went to Ashley Lodge for rehabilitation after a fall and a period in hospital. Her stay was extended and we could not have asked for better care or a more supportive team to look after her.
The staff did a wonderful job helping Mum regain her fitness and managing her nursing needs. The management
and nursing team were always responsive, informative, and willing to help and support us as a family.
The carers were consistently kind and professional ensuring Mum's needs were met and their cheerful and positive manner created a warm and secure environment for her. Her room was bright, airy, well decorated, and always very clean. The Ashley Lodge team also organised a roster of activities, encouraging Mum to join in and they made sure birthdays and festive celebrations like Christmas were marked and celebrated.
We can't thank the team enough for all their support and care throughout Mum's stay.

Originally (for respite for 2 weeks with dementia), after trying to take his own life, residential care was deemed essential. I am happy the management and staff treat him with care and dignity, due to his circumstances!
I feel, however, they are understaffed, with very little senior management in
attendance over the weekend period.
I do not feel that enough 'observation checks' on his well-being are observed regularly.

I wouldn't put anyone in here.
My mother was in there she passed away and that same night all her items (well nearly all her items) was bag up and put into a cupboard. My sister and I went there to get them and half of her items was missing.
Things like her no open cleaning items and a egg my father
brought her for their wedding anniversary. Its worth a bit of money but that's not the point it is sentimental. So someone there has sticky fingers.
They said they looked but no one found it.
I have contacted the police on this.
Not right people taking items from the deceased. This is theft.
Reply from Rahul, Director at Corner LodgeThank you for speaking to me . Losing a Loved one is a tough journey, so our thoughts are with you.

We acknowledge your disappointment of the Egg going missing, although we feel our staff are honest, we can not say where it has gone. As per conversation, although it cant replace your mum's egg given to her, we have ordered a replacement & have sent to you today.

In respect of our conversation, thank you for saying the care was 'Good' provided by staff over a period of just under 4 years of being with us.

It takes special people to look after our residents with Dementia & we are sorry the care provided to mum has finished with this memory, instead of the memory of Good Care.

What can I say other than this home is exceptional, from the highest of standards to the care they all give their patients each and every day. It is second to none! Speaking from experience, having looked after my father only until recently, I never once doubted the commitment, care and dedication they
all give to their residents and each other. Your loved one will be well looked after. Think of it as part of your extended family, because that is what it felt like to us. Feel safe in the knowledge that they will be well cared for and treated with the love, dignity and respect they deserve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My uncle was in another home for nearly 2 years and spent most of his time in his bed. Was not supported to interact. Since moving to Read House, he has spent very little time in bed and enjoyed his meals in the dining hall with other residents. When I visit, he is interested in conversation and
seems brighter in himself. The staff are friendly and management approachable. Everyone there has helped him settle in and start to enjoy life again.
Reply from Helen Spurgeon, Home Manager at Read HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share this lovely feedback. Were delighted to hear how well your uncle has settled in and that youve noticed such a positive change in him. Supporting residents to stay engaged, comfortable, and connected is incredibly important to us, and it means a great deal to know this has made a difference for him and for your family.

Your kind words about our staff and management are truly appreciated. Were grateful for your trust and are so pleased to see your uncle enjoying life again at Read House.

After spending around 6 weeks in hospital my mum had become weaker and needed 24 hour care. We were given a lovely room for her at Bryony Park and she has settled in very well. Although she spends most of her time in bed, she engages well with all the staff. She tells me she is most comfortable and
content .The room is always clean and tidy. She is now eating a liquid diet which is freshly made and enjoying it. All the staff are exceptional, professional and dedicated. This is the first home my mum has been in and I would definately recommend it to others.
