My mum was a resident from 2022 until she passed in March 2026. She was treated wtih love and respect throughout her stay. Her end of life care was given with compassion and the support we have been given since her passing has been outstanding.

My mum was a resident at this care home.
Some of the staff are likeable some not.
Cos some have sticky fingers.
When my mum passed some of her belongings what missing. When my sister and I went to get some of her belongings they was all put into a cupboard in black bags and we had to walk pass the
room she occupied when alive and it was already occupied it was up setting to see that and to see all her stuff in a cupboard that's when we noticed things was missing.
It was not until I put in a bad review I got them back will most of them.
My mums room was not that clean sometimes.
Food I don't know about.
Sometimes when I visited her she wasn't clean.
She smelled.
I had to ask them to give my mum a bath a few times. There is not enough staff for all the residents. Cos twice my mum was attacked by inmates there...
In this review I am telling the truth.
I think the owners should put more money into get more staff for the price they charge.
Over all care a 3 and a half star.

A happy, caring home. All staff are brilliant, treating patients with care and respect. It's also great to see the teamwork between the staff. The range, frequency and opportunities to get involved with activities is excellent. As a visitor we are always made to feel very welcome and nothing is ever
too much trouble. Overall I am very pleased with the way my mother is cared for.

We had a bad experience with another home, and when my sister and I came to Corner Lodge, the manager & another lady put our minds at rest and answered our questions & concerns brilliantly. Our family is extremely pleased with all the activities that are put on at Corner Lodhe. The social media page
is a great idea to keep me updated on all that my mum & other residents have been doing. All the staff are welcoming and pleasant to talk to. 5*

Found the home, very welcoming. Constant up date on relatives care, especially end of life care. Everything was in place.
The person in charge of end of life care, was supportive and involved conversations and visits from the hospice team as well as the GP.
Found my relatives care first class, .
Was
able to come in and help with meals and feeding, during, protective mealtimes, on my relatives poorly days I was able to come in to be with relative, supporting my relative.
Staff were always polite, and made me feel at home.
I was offered drinks, and was able to have meals with my relative, at a small cost and I was happy to pay.
Meals were of good standard and tasted nice.
Activities, were very good, and I was able to join in with as well, with my relative, with meaningful conversations, with not just my relative but with other residents using the service. Was able, to see care plans on request.. always updated on care plans, and involved .I found the management very approachable

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.633)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.633) out of 10 for Corner Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.633 for Corner Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (234 Excellents x 5) + (81 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.633
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Corner Lodge is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
