My mother was recently moved to the dementia unit and I was apprehensive about this decision, but am pleased to say this was the right move. The staff are all excellent, lovely and very caring. This was reinforced by my mum telling me, I needn't worry about leaving her there as all the 'girls' were lovely and took good care of her. I feel totally confident that she is receiving the best care possible. Thank you

We will be forever grateful to the managers & staff for the care provided to our dad.
He was always treated with dignity and respect. I think the fact that Dad would greet every member of staff with a big smile speaks volumes.
We as a family were always made to feel welcome and we never felt like we were in the way.

Thank you all x.

Staff and management are exceptional they cared with compassion and dignity towards my dad. Staff so helpful, nothing any trouble to them. As his daughter I couldn't of wished for better care in the short time he was there before his passing. So grateful to them all.

My mum was cared for brilliantly by Newlands Care Centre. Her physical and medical needs were always attended to, and just as importantly, the emotional needs as well. The staff were able to give her compassionate and gentle interation and she was able to join in activities and even go on days out. I'll always been grateful for how well she was looked after. Every staff member I came across genuinely cared.

Just time of visiting, and the first impression was that this was a place of the finest decoration, comfort all round, for the visitors and the residents. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. When I reach that stage in my life when I need all round care, this place is where I would want to be.

We were 'wary' about care homes at first, but once we had a pre-brief wit the care home manager our worries were soon put at ease, all the staff displayed empathy + care, from the reception staff, to the cook, all lovely people, my mother in laws room was cosy, her final days were comfortable, + she was at ease.

My mother passed away peacefully on the 9th November in Barchester Newlands Care Home. She had cancer but the care received meant that she was comfortable right to the end. I would like to thank all of the excellent team for their faultless efforts and care during her time there. We will always be very grateful to the managers, nurses, carers, cleaners, caterers and other support and admin staff. Thank you.

The home is always very clean and friendly. The activities are great, always well-organised.
Only negative seems to be laundry. Ongoing issues with resident's clothing going missing and wearing other residents' clothes. Clothes stuffed into drawers instead of hung up in wardrobe.

Can not fault care given from staff on the unit.

My lovely mum spent just short of two weeks at this lovely care home. She was treated very well. Looked after with dignity. The staff were lovely to deal with and nothing was a bother for them. The staff were very caring towards all my family during a hard time.

Communication could improve. Cleanliness could be improved. My dad has stated on several occasions that the food is awful.

As an overall unit, the carers look after our dad with compassion, dignity and kindness. I have been approached by a higher member of staff and been told incorrect information which I am led to believe is incorrect.

My husband is very well cared for in Lakeland unit. He always looks very clean, nicely dressed and beautifully shaved. No complaints about his care whatsoever, the staff, without exception, are caring and very efficient. My only worry is now I am 80, I worry about the 84-mile round trip. With winter coming on, the drive will be more difficult. I hope he can get moved. It is only the distance, I don't think he can get better care anywhere. Thanks everyone.

Staff are very good with residents, food good, staff very friendly and helpful if any questions I have about my husband's care, they find the answers. My husband has been in Barchester Newlands Care Home for over a year now and I have no problems with the quality of care he is given which I know he doesn't like with his care needs sometimes.
