Welcome to our team page! My name is Nichola, and I am the General Manager at Hawthorns.

I am also a registered mental health nurse, qualifying in 2007 from the University of Teesside. I have extensive management experience in the care sector, and I am passionate about the people who use our service, ensuring they receive high-quality care and achieve their goals whilst living their best lives. I joined Barchester in 2025, and I am delighted to be leading the team here at Hawthorns.

My name is Jon, and I am one of the deputy managers at Hawthorns.

I joined Barchester in 2025, and I have just under twenty years of post-registration nursing experience, most of which has been as an intensive care nurse; however, in more recent years, I have taken a shine to health and social care.

I am passionate about excellence within the care home setting, and I enjoy supporting the staff, looking out for their well-being so that they can support our residents to live their best lives.

My name is Deb, I am a registered general nurse, and I have been qualified for 37 years, working predominantly in rehabilitation services.

I joined Barchester in September 2001. I enjoy the challenges the service brings and supporting the residents on their journey to gaining independence.

Hi, my name is Lisa, I am the Home Administrator at Hawthorns Care Centre.

I joined Hawthorns in 2015 as an Admin Assistant and progressed to Home Administrator in 2023. I am passionate about my role and happy to assist with any queries or questions you may have.

Hi, I’m Dav. I’ve been a chef for over 26 years now and have worked in every type of venue you can imagine.

I’m a simple kind of chef; I love fresh ingredients, especially fresh herbs. I’m working on getting a fresh herb garden right outside of my kitchen window.

I started work for Barchester in October 2025. I have a disabled son with a rare life-limiting chromosome abnormality called Emanuel Syndrome, which has given me the passion to work in the Care environment

My previous employment was at Barclays Bank, working in various leadership & manager roles over the last 20 years. I served in the Royal Engineers for 10 years, which gave me great knowledge for the role I am in today

My name is Nijay Cheeran Jacob, and I have been part of Hawthorns since 2019.

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010 and have since gained extensive experience working across a range of neurological rehabilitation settings, developing a strong foundation in patient-centred care and recovery-focused therapy.

My name is Briony, and I have been a registered Clinical Psychologist since 2024.

My role at the Hawthorns is to offer assessment and consultation regarding the psychological needs of people in our care. I also offer 1:1 psychological therapy to support individuals in adjusting to life-changing injuries. I am passionate about working systematically with teams to help practitioners feel enabled to offer the best care to individuals by understanding their psychological needs.

Hi, my name is Laura, and I am the head of activities here at Hawthorns.

I joined Barchester in November 2023; however, I have a wealth of experience in the care sector, initially starting in 2010. My time at Hawthorns is spent ensuring our residents' lives are enriched by planning activities around their personal needs. I love to see everyone taking part and getting involved in activities, and the enjoyment that they bring to them.

My name is Jade, and I am the Occupational Therapist for Hawthorns. I am based within the rehabilitation unit and complex care services, where I have been working for just over two years.

Before this, I worked on a PICU ward supporting both male and female patients, where I developed a strong interest in the mental health field.

I am passionate about my role as an OT and take great pride in supporting individuals in our care. It is incredibly rewarding to see the progress people make and to help them regain independence and confidence in their daily lives.

Hi, my name is Ehizogie. I qualified as a registered nurse in 2014.

I have experience supporting individuals with complex health needs. I am committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and overall well-being for the residents.
