Melbury Court Care Home

My mother has Alzheimer's dementia and has been in Melbury Court since May 2018. She settled far better than I expected, taking pleasure from her room and the surroundings. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They are proactive in their care, seeking medical assistance when they perceive any 'abnormality' and keeping relatives informed. My mother is safe, well looked after and you can't put a price on that!

I find that the staff and management are extremely helpful and professional. I am pleased that my wife is being looked after in this home.

But there is one issue and that is when he rings the buzzer for the toilet there is always a wait, anywhere up to an hour wait. This is not acceptable.

Staff are very good. I have no complaints.

A lovely clean care home, with excellent staff and facilities, so pleased that my aunt has settled in so quickly after such a short time.

We were on the waiting list for quite a long time. Now my husband is in we haven't been disappointed. The staff are great, caring and helpful. His nursing care is well managed. He has a nice room with some of his things from home.

Entertainment is well thought out and well planned.

My mother was a resident from October '17. From the very moment my mother arrived, there was a warm caring feeling that made my mother feel secure. All the staff show respect and consideration and always have time to chat or discuss any worries.

The facilities are first class along with the food, freshly prepared each meal. Melbury Court is a wonderful example of caring to the highest standard which all the family want for their loved ones.

I recommend the home without reservation.

I have been very pleased with the care provided for my mother. The staff are caring and respectful, the managers are approachable and responsive and the premises are well kept and tastefully decorated. There are activities held each day and tastefully decorated. There are activities held each day and the environment is stimulating. My mother has company and interest. Knowing that she is there and well looked after has alleviated my anxiety. We feel confident that she is in the best place.

I think Melbury Court must be one the better nursing homes in the area. Mam has been a resident there for over four years. We have had minor problems but nothing major. Since the takeover, I have noticed minor differences. At the present time, I would say the previous care owners were better. It maybe initial that there are initial teething problems so I will not judge the differences at present and will allow time for the home to settle.

Friendly well ran home. The doors into the home are dreadfully difficult with a wheelchair, automatic/electric doors would be a boom!!

Very caring staff.

My sister has been a resident in Melbury Court for almost three years. Her condition is deteriorating but she is reasonably happy and very grateful to the staff for their care. The family visit very regularly and have always found the staff to be extremely kind and caring. There are many activities available for the residents.

My father has been a resident for over 5 years and has always received the best of care and attention during this time.

Really pleased to have discovered Melbury Court for my dad. It's on the doorstep, so easy to visit him. The standard of decor; furnishings etc... Set it apart from his previous care home and others considered - more like a home than a care home.

In general terms the staff are very pleasant - all staff, from admin through to the carers and nursing teams. Melbury seems to have created an environment where employees want to be there and do their best.

Melbury is also a very "active" home with lots of events organised for residents and relatives (race nights; quizzes, karaoke etc) all of which create a sense of belonging.

In summary, somewhere I'd be happy to be a resident myself, should it ever be necessary!

I am very happy for my wife to be here in this care home. The facilities are excellent, as are the staff.
