Nice and friendly, nothing was too much bother to them. Clean and well mannered staff at all times.

Good security upon entry. Greeted nicely dressed well mannered happy staff. We were most welcomed. The place throughout was nice and clean, bright, smells nice and heated.
Bedrooms are nice too and very spacious.
Talked to some of the residents too. Activities daily.

All staff are approachable and friendly, happy to oblige with any duty of care that my mother has requested, treating her with dignity and respect.

I am a lady who has visited Stoneleigh Care Home every day for the last 22 years. I visit every resident and all the staff, who are always very pleased to see me and treat me as part of the family. If at any point I needed to go into a care home Stoneleigh would be my "home".

The home is clean, pleasant and the staff are so nice to talk to and seem to treat the residents with great kindness and care. I have visited two or three other homes in the Stanley area (to see friends) and I know that if I or any of my loved ones were to need care in a care home, Stoneleigh Care Home
would be the one I hope I could choose.

The home has a lovely feel, I felt it as soon as I walked into initially for a visit. All the staff seem caring, hardworking and friendly from cleaners to carers and entertainment organisers. Residents seem settled and my mother is always clean and well cared for no matter what time I visit.

I find Stoneleigh has very hard working staff. They go a lot further to help my mother than can, in my view, be necessary.
Food is the best the kitchen staff can do with the budget that I am sure will be in place.
Activities which help to keep older people active are happening on very regular occasions.
This home is safe, secure, warm, friendly and gives peace of mind to other family members. Medical treatment is at hand at all hours. Stoneleigh and staff are very good.

The care home has a very nice atmosphere when you walk in. The management and staff are very nice. They treat the elderly with dignity and respect. If I had to go into a care home I would choose this one, you cannot fault any of the staff they are all very nice people. Caring and kind to the residents.

My husband came into Stoneleigh Care Home for 2 weeks respite with a view to permanent care. He has been very well looked after by all the staff who are all very caring and cheerful people and nothing is too much trouble. He is treated with dignity and respect.

My Mother-in-law has been in Stoneleigh Care Home for over a year and has been joined recently by her husband. The staff have gone out of their way to accommodate them as a couple. They have created a shared bedroom for them so they can be together. I have been particularly impressed with how well looked
after they are, always clean clothes and presentable. Overall, the home has a very comfortable, homely feel and with staff who genuinely care about the well-being of the residents.

I find this care home warm and friendly. My sister-in-law settled here straight away. Staff and management are approachable and listen to any concerns that we have. When you walk through the doors it feels like a home from home. Carers that work upstairs are friendly, interact great with all the residents
and have a good rapport with each other, which shows when dealing with difficult situations. I have nothing but praise for the carers who are cut out for this type of job.

The induction and reception process of admitting my mother to Stoneleigh Care Home was carried out in both a professional and friendly way. Things were explained to me carefully, showing a resident centred approach. Although not easy to put the care of a loved one into some else's hands, I felt confident

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


"Kindness to me is promoting safety, happiness and dignity."


Susan is a Healthcare Professional with a number of years’ experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Stoneleigh.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:


“I love working with and getting to know our Residents and hearing their stories.”


Outside of work, Susan enjoys walking holidays in the Lake District and Yorkshire with her partner and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
