My father came into Stoneleigh Nursing Home in April 2016. As a family we were very anxious as up to the age of 84 he has lived alone (since being widowed) and is very independent.
However I am amazed at how settled he is within a short space of time - this is down the the excellent, caring staff
and good overall management of the home. I would - and have - recommended this home to others.

Very friendly helpful staff. Staff and management have helped my mother lots and still left her with a high level of independence. The help to myself by taking away the constant stress I was under due to work and looking after my mother is always a great help.
At all times staff try to involve residents
with a wide variety of activities and events. The staff deserve a great amount of credit for all their dedication and care to residents.

My friend was moved into Stoneleigh from another home as she was not given the care she needed, since she moved into Stoneleigh she is cleaner, brighter and much happier. I am really pleased with the staff in Stoneleigh as they try really hard to keep all the residents happy. Very, very lovely care
home.

From my mum going in the care home in December she has settled in very well with the help and care of all staff. She has put some weight back on due to the good food as we were having problems with her eating, she also involves herself with activities so stimulates her memory. Overall, the home is good
but could do with a little update, bedrooms are quite small.

Thank you for your comments on our home. We are pleased that your mother has settled in well. We note your comments about the size of the room. The rooms we have available are all of a similar size. When we show a prospective client/family around the home they are able to choose from whichever rooms are vacant at that time. As rooms become vacant current clients may choose to move to another one. We encourage families to bring in personal items to personalise the bedrooms to make them homely.


As rooms become vacant we freshly decorate them in line with our company standards.


We are in the process of refreshing the appearance of the rest of the building.

Stoneleigh is a warm and welcoming building. Staff and management are friendly and always make you feel welcome. Staff in the home treat residents with dignity and respect and go the extra mile to ensure that all residents are made to feel safe and secure. The managers door is always open and you are
able to go to speak to her if you have any concerns or problems regarding your family member who lives there. I would recommend this home to others looking for a place for their loved ones.

My father was no longer able to live independently at home last year, and was admitted to Stoneleigh Care Home. I live many miles away so was anxious as was he. After a settling in period and readjusting to new surroundings and routine ( my father is 87), he has been given a new lease of life, thanks
to the carers and support team at Stoneleigh. The love and care he is given is first class. He is treated as part of a family whose needs are put first. I visit regularly and I am given the reassurance I need, which is clear when I see dad happy and content.

Since mum went into the home in October she has been treated with great care and respect. As her daughter, I have also been shown respect and been offered support. The choice of menu has been excellent and satisfying. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. As end of life approaches the management
and staff have been excellent. Present circumstances and the way forward have been discussed in a most helpful and caring manner. I would not have wished for anything more.

For 8 years I have gone to this lady to clean. Her house was her life, at 95 she was having dizzy spells and felt unsafe in her home! She went into Stoneleigh in May and I was really impressed with the room, food, staff and cleanliness of the home. My lady always says it is not home but is very happy
with the way they look after her and says the food is like home made! The staff are very welcoming to everyone! I was very sad when she had to go into a home but since visiting Stoneleigh really impressed.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


"Kindness to me is promoting safety, happiness and dignity."


Susan is a Healthcare Professional with a number of years’ experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Susan closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Stoneleigh.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Susan remarked:


“I love working with and getting to know our Residents and hearing their stories.”


Outside of work, Susan enjoys walking holidays in the Lake District and Yorkshire with her partner and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
