My friend moved into this home 3 years ago. It was a bright welcoming home but at the time had no permanent manager, was generally understaffed and staff morel was low. Since the now permanent manager was engaged it has improved enormously. The whole home has been refurbished to a high standard, they are now fully staffed and morel is high. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is a pleasure to visit. My friend is very happy there.
My husband has been in Canterbury House since November 2017 and seems settled. Myself and my daughter are very happy with the care and environment.
I always find staff very attentive to my father's needs and they are always happy to discuss how he's been. They always make a drink for myself and other visitors even though staff are busy with the residents.
The premises and my father's room are always spotless and the whole building is very clean and has nice displays of what the residents have been doing. Very happy with my father's care.
Thank you for taking the time to compliment the home.
I find the care home staff very friendly and very approachable. My father is very happy being here and is very well looked after.
The care home is always clean and in good order with pictures and furnishings. I also like the garden area and I know my dad always loved his garden and is a point of interest all year round.
Thank you very much for your positive comments. These will be shared with the staff in the home and they are all a very good morale booster for us all.
Examples of staff going the extra mile include:-
My aunt likes me to do her hair and recently I forgot to bring some curling tongs, staff opened the salon and brought us the equipment so my aunt was not disappointed or upset.
Family are always made welcome, the staff know we travel up to two hours to visit and we are always offered a very welcome cup of tea during our visits.
I would be happy to recommend Canterbury House Care Home and thank you to ALL the staff.
On the whole, the staff at Canterbury House provide excellent care for all the residents. Since becoming a resident at this establishment my mother has thrived, through the implementation of a structured care plan. I would recommend this home to anyone considering a care provider in the area.
Canterbury House greatly appreciates the acknowledgements of the excellent care and support provided to our residents.
Canterbury House is, in my opinion, one of the best homes in the Conwy and Denbighshire area and I went around quite a few. It is very bright, clean, all rooms are a good size and homely. Under good management and all staff are caring and friendly. Having spent Xmas day there with my husband, who has been a resident for the last 12 months. I was made to feel like one of the family. Also, the food was very good. Everybody had a really special day.
The management and staff work so hard to maintain such high standards. Thank you. My sister is now calling Canterbury House her home, that alone is a great compliment. As her brother, may I say a BIG THANK YOU!
The management team offer great leadership as the staff morale is really very good. This is important as the standard of care from the nursing and care staff is excellent.
Canterbury House has improved within management over the last few months. Staff morale seems to have benefitted from this also which in turn provides a happy environment for the residents. Would like to see more interaction days i.e. musicians/singers to come in to entertain. It is very good to see residents dressed well, treated with respect and it feels like a home not an establishment. The staff work hard, deserve a lot of praise and since management has improved, communication is better and always open door policy...keep this up- can only improve. Thank you.
Very caring staff, both carers and nursing. Food is good and varied. Facilities clean and tidy. Decoration leads to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Most importantly, my sister is happy and I can be sure that she is safe. when she is ill, I am phoned immediately and kept informed of the situation.
I feel it is so uplifting when I call to see my friend, she always seems happy and settled.
My mother has been a resident here since January 2013. She is totally bedridden and cannot move or speak. She has complicated nursing requirements and the team of nurses and carers do a very good job. The new management team gave improved standards throughout the home. The staff are dedicated and create a friendly atmosphere. Communication has greatly improved and any concerns raised are dealt with quickly and resolved without issues.
I haven't rated 'excellent' on any of the options because the nursing home is not perfect. More staff would help the team achieve this mark - as they work extremely hard under difficult and challenging circumstances.
I visit my friend about twice a month, he is always full of praise for all the ladies who look after him, he seems happy and settled at Canterbury House, his room is always clean and tidy, he says the food is really nice. When I visit we have a cuppa and chat, I would recommend this home to my friends.
They take care of my husband very well and there are no problems.
However, an admission support plan was implemented to assist Mum to cope with the transition. I was so relieved when I first visited Mum a few days after her admission to see her relaxed and comfortable in her new room and already developing good relationships with the staff. She seems to have settled in very well and this is due in a very large measure to all the staff, Nursing and Support Staff, who have worked really hard to support her needs and to make sure that she feels comfortable and safe in a secure, loving environment. Yes, loving - as all the staff seem to be every fond of their residents and demonstrate a great deal of emotional care and support to them too.
I'm quite satisfied. Things are improving all the time.
The staff are good, polite and courteous and very helpful to me.
My mother just moved in the nursing home, but the warm welcome my mam received was just out of this world. The staff were so helpful, and just lovely to her and went out of their way to make her so comfortable, and they were so caring on her special needs. The food they serve is just so nice for her, everyday something different; drinks of tea, coffee, juice were offered quite often to her. The home is so well taken care of, cleaned so well, and whatever you ask for, they do their very best to help you. I go back from visiting her, and knowing she is safe, well fed, and warm at night, but most of all loved already by the wonderful staff that work there.
