Aberpennar Court is a really lovely place. My friend is 95 and very frail. Whenever I visit she is always washed/showered and in clean clothes or nighties. Her room is light and airy with a view of the street and trees. The staff are lovely, from the cleaners to the nursing staff. Nothing is too much trouble.

What a wonderful Christmas Mammy had, the warm welcome extended to the family for all the activities over the lead-up was wonderful. Thanks to the well-being staff. The care afforded to Mammy is second to none. All staff know Mammy's likes and dislikes, she especially loves the milkshake and the home-baked cakes daily.

I can't fault the day-to-day staff involved in Mammy's care.

My mother-in-law was 100 today. The home welcomed all her large family and made us very welcome.

They clearly have great respect for her and treat her with dignity.

I visited in August for my great auntie's 100th birthday celebration, what I observed was how caring your staff were around her and ensuring she was ok and comfortable, especially with so many family around her. I could see they were incredibly attentive to her emotions and needs, you could tell they knew her very well and vice versa. I had a great afternoon visiting and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming and supportive to the family. Thanks for making it such a great occasion for us all.

Fantastic care home - the staff are so amazing. Two members of staff, in particular, are so amazing. We are so happy that my wife's grandmother is in this home - it's clean, she is well looked after and very happy. The care she received during covid really made us very happy. The activity room is fantastic.

Due to the pandemic, I only visit my Aunt once a week. I find the home to be very good, nice and clean and my Aunt seems to be very happy there. Her 2 carers look after her very well as do the rest of the staff. I am quite happy as well.

Costs for respite care are ridiculously expensive. Care of the nursing patients and care of respite patients is good.

My mother was very well cared for during the pandemic. Visiting is still a bit of a problem as by appointment only. No one minds doing a lateral flow test to enter the home but having to fill in forms always as a regular visitor needs to come to an end. In Wales in 2 weeks everything will get back to normal, so visiting our relatives should get back to normal. 2 years is a long time for elderly people to not see their families, their mental health needs to be considered.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Aberpennar Court Care Home

We were lucky enough to be allowed in to celebrate a 65th Anniversary due to Covid with both of them in this wonderful care home together. The staff went above and beyond to make it safe for several of us to celebrate this special day with them, the staff made a lovely spread and a celebration cake, put bunting up. What amazing staff you have working here, with the love and dedication they have for everyone there. Thank you again for everything you all do.
