My mother has been a resident at Aberpenna Court for 5 years and in all that time has not had any improvements made to her room. It desperately needs painting and possibly carpet removed and replaced. Some rooms have had an upgrade and some haven't.
Overall very happy with the service.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We are delighted you are happy with the care your mother receives and our team. Sadly, these last couple of years have been unprecedented with regards to staffing largely due to Covid. We always...
Aberpennar Court provides a good level of care and support to my mother. During the pandemic, it has obviously been difficult to visit my mum but the home has tried to accommodate this wherever possible. There has sometimes been a lack of communication especially from management but can see this is now being addressed as there has been a change of home manager recently with improvement. My main concern is that residents are not getting enough fresh air and a walk around the garden would be a benefit - and would be happy to do this with my mother.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are so pleased you can see an improvement in communication within the home. We regularly use the garden to support residents to access the outside space and some residents chose to access...
I am unable to rate the home because we had to have an outside visit through the window, why? We seem to be going backwards. We are now in level zero, have been double-jabbed, can go in anyone's house with as many people as you want, go to pubs and clubs, no distancing in shops or out and about. But still cannot go into the care home to see my 94-year-old mother. It's time to open the doors now so we can be with our loved ones.
Thank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We are sorry you have experienced poor communication regarding the changes in visiting and the role of the essential visitor. We are welcoming visitors into the home following recent changes in...
(Can't comment on the interior/rooms as I have not been able to enter most of the home due to covid-19 lockdown.)
The staff go above and beyond with their care for my gran. I can see this in how well my gran looks and how relaxed and content she is.
The staff are friendly, professional and put visitors at ease.
I have been extremely pleased with the care and support my mother has received at the home. The staff are excellent. They are supportive and very professional at all times. The home has a very friendly atmosphere and I am so pleased the family chose Aberpennar Court for my mother's nursing care.
My mother received excellent care at Aberpennar Court. We were made to feel so welcome whenever we would visit. In her last days, the staff were so supportive to us as a family and my mother's well being was always their priority. All the staff treat residents with respect and are so caring. The rooms are lovely and there is always lots of activities for the residents.
The care is second to none.
Staff are so professional, nothing was too much trouble.
I hope you will let all the staff know my feedback.
The staff are always very helpful and we can visit any time. Can't speak highly enough about the service my brother receives.
She loves the food always looks clean and tidy and her hair is washed and cut. The staff are very attentive and I have already recommended the home to a friend whose mother is coming here.
High standard of care.
Cheerful and approachable.
Like a home from home.
On the whole, my experience is good. But there needs to be more variety of food choices.
On the whole, the family are satisfied with the care provided. The staff are friendly and caring. There is a good variety of activities for the residents.
My mother has been here since January 2018 and settled very well. All staff go above and beyond to care for residents.
The care home put on an 80th birthday for my mother and it was made so special for her. I cannot thank them enough.
My husband stayed at your care home for two weeks. The first time which he enjoyed very much as a singer came to entertain them. He stayed for a week in May also which he looked forward to as he knew what to expect. All the staff were great and made him feel most welcome. His room had TV and ensuite bathroom. He enjoyed his meals also. We were glad we found such a good place for him. Unfortunately, my husband died on 30th July 2017. Thank you.
Since my Mother has been resident I have found that everything and everyone at the home has been excellent. Thank you.
One time we were told he'd spilled water on himself but when he stood up it was obvious he'd wet himself badly.
A doctor was always called when needed I think, so he was given medication when needed.
Thank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are pleased that you were happy with the care your husband received and that you found the staff to be helpful and friendly. We are very sorry that you were on occasion disappointed with the...
We particularly appreciated the sensitive professional way they concentrated on caring for him, preserving his dignity whilst at the same time giving the relatives some peace of mind.
Mam settled in very well. She will be 99 on the 5th of February this year.
