Activities are widely varied, from bingo to summer parties, arts & crafts to regular singers entertaining in the lounge. Local schools visit with the children in the choir, this is so special & the bond that the residents have built up with these children is amazing to see.
The food is outstanding, menus are varied and they have a 5 star rating.
The rooms are beautifully decorated, each with a personal touch.
I can say with sincerity, that if you have a family member that needs that extra support & is looking for a home, then look no further than Ael y Bryn, it really is home from home.
Thank you for your wonderful comments and feedback. We really appreciate it.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Andrew & his team who looked after my dad Brian until he sadly passed away. Everyone at the home made us feel so welcome and the care and compassion the staff showed looking after Dad was was above and beyond anything I have ever witnessed. They treated him like family even though he could be a pain in the backside sometimes, LOL. So to all of you, thank you & next time we are down in Swansea we will pop in and say hello.
We really appreciate your kind words & feed back. It was a pleasure caring for a wonderful man. You guys are welcome to pop in at Ael-y-bryn anytime. Take care
I moved my dad, Brian, to Ael y Bryn from Weymouth in July 2025 after his diagnosis of mixed dementia to be nearer to me. It was a home from home for him. The whole team from housekeeping, carers, kitchen team, maintenance and management were wonderful from the moment we stepped through the doors. the care and compassion shown each and everyday by the team was genuine, warm and friendly. They made my dads last 7 months of his life wonderful and became his second family. We were always welcomed like old friends when we visited dad and I highly recommend Ael y Bryn to anyone looking for care of their loved ones.
Such kind words that will mean alot to the whole team. It was an honour to care for dad & have such a lovely family as part of the home.
I usually visit my friend at Ael-Y-Bryn regularly, and I am always impressed by the warmth and care here. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive and treat every resident with utmost respect and dignity. The home always feels welcoming, safe and comfortable, and we are able to see how much effort goes into making the residents happy every day. The activities done in the home are very engaging, and the team always ensures that everyone feels included. They communicate openly with the friends and family, keeping us informed and involved. It's clear the staff care not just professionally, but from the heart. Ael-Y-Bryn it isn't just a care home, it's a place where the residents are valued, supported, and truly feel at home. I feel grateful for the compassion and dedication shown every day.
Lovely to hear your feedback and comments about AYB. Look forward to passing these sincere words onto the rest of the team. Thank you
I can't honestly recommend this wonderful nursing home enough from the bottom of my heart, it's completely changed my aunties life and total outlook on life in itself thank you to every single staff member in the building. The care she has received from the minute she arrived has been nothing but exceptional on all levels. Every staff member and everybody above are like a new family to us all. Very grateful. There is absolutely nothing that's to big or small for to trust them with!
Thank you for such kind words. Your aunty is a wonderful lady & a pleasure to care for.
Yesterday I visited Ael Y Bryn care home where my late friend's dad now lives, and I was so moved by the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The home itself felt clean, calm, and full of positive energy.
My friend's dad was clearly well cared for as he was clean, well-fed, and most importantly, genuinely happy. The staff and manager spoke to him with such warmth and dignity. It was clear that they truly care about the residents and take pride in what they do.
As I left, I felt a deep sense of peace knowing he is in such good hands. My friend (his daughter) sadly passed away 21 years ago under tragic circumstances, but I know she would be comforted to see her beloved dad so well cared for and content. I'm very grateful to everyone at the home for the compassion and dedication they show.
We are so glad you had such a positive experience at Ael-y-bryn care home. Please visit again anytime. Thank you for providing us with feedback. The team will be proud reading your lovely words.
My mother been in the home nearly a year now. Making the decision to put my mother in a home was the hardest thing we've ever had to do. The Manager and his team made it alot easier for us.. He reassured me that my mam would be looked after and that everything was going to be ok. He did just that! The carers are absolutely amazing with mam. They are all very hard working, kind and approachable. The home has entertainment for the residents, on a regular basis.. which my mam loves. The activities co ordinator, is fantastic with mam.. She is hands on with all the residents.. My mam receives I very high standard of care, the food is beautiful and when you visit the home, its got a lovely warm vibe to it. The home wouldn't be run like this without the brilliant management team. Never met someone so humble, so professional and so kind.. any issues I have, he address them straight away. Thank you for everything Ael Y Bryn
Thank you for such kind words. Mam is a pleasure to look after.
My mum recently moved to Ael-y-Bryn on 14.7.25. She was very happy when she entered the home and was thrilled with her room. All the staff made us both feel very welcome and helped with her belongings. She has settled in very well and I'm able to call in and see her anytime which has made this first week very easy as I've called in everyday. I can't thank the staff enough for all they do it gives me piece of mind that I know she's happy and well looked after.
We are really pleased mum has settled so well. It has been lovely to see how quickly she has made new friends and gets fully involved in all activities provided in the home with a smile on her face. Thank you for providing us with feedback-i will pass onto the rest of the team.
My gran loves her new home. She's settled well and even enjoys the activities. But most of all her own room she loves it.
So pleased that gran has settled so well. Thank you for taking time to leave us a review.
This home is beautiful, staff are fantastic, the rooms are amazing and always have something going on for residents. My mum has settled really well here. Everything at this home is what I looked for throughout Swansea.
We really appreciate your kind words. So pleased mum has settled so quickly and the family are happy with everything we offer.
My mom has settled lovely here. It's always clean, tidy and staff are always at hand. This was the first home my mother has lived in and to be honest it's way above what we were expecting and more. So happy.
Mum has settled extremely well-the best part about our job is helping and caring for some wonderful residents/families that need our support. I will pass your kind words onto the whole care team.

Thank you for such kind words. Mum has settled so well and we are glad to support such a wonderful family
Realising a loved one needs care is sobering, and finding the right home can feel overwhelming. I can't express how grateful I was to find Ael-y-Bryn. My mum had previously spent six months in a much larger care home (around 70 rooms), but it always felt impersonal, and her care seemed compromised. From my first visit to Ael-y-Bryn, I felt reassured. It's a smaller home (around 30 rooms), which creates a warm, intimate atmosphere-exactly what my mum needed. The carers were familiar faces who built genuine bonds with residents. Their regular Facebook updates gave lovely glimpses into daily life and always brought a smile. Although my mum has now passed, I never once regretted choosing Ael-y-Bryn. It was the best possible place for her final chapter. I hope this review helps others on a similar journey and puts Ael-y-Bryn on their radar.
Honestly it was our pleasure to care for mum and support such a lovely family. Your kind words mean the world to us all at Ael-y-bryn. Take care
My Mam has been in Ael Y Bryn since 30th of January 2025. This was an emotional and daunting time for us all but the staff at Ael Y Bryn have been amazing and have provided ongoing support not only to my Mam but also to me and my sister as we've tried to adjust to this massive change in our lives. My Mam means the absolute world to me and I can't thank the staff enough for the care and attention they provide to her. I feel welcome at any time, and phone in between visits for updates and nothing is too much trouble. I even have a chat with Mam on the 'phone which is brilliant.
It is our pleasure to care and support mum as well as welcoming another wonderful, supportive family to AYB. So pleased with how quickly mum has settled with us at AYB. Thank you for your feedback and support. I will pass on to the whole team. Take care
My Mum is currently there and has received excellent care from the get go. Only 30 placements so more intimate. Great room downstairs as requested .. entertainment is superb too and celebration of the main events like Mothers Day Easter and Rugby Internationals etc. hairdresser nail and feet manicure. Love the garden and the icecream van. However increase in fees in April 2025 by £100 a week!! seems extortionate and with no warning considering my Mum only arrived at the end of January 2025.
Thank you for taking time to leave us your feedback.R.e- Fee's increase every April. Letters are sent out weeks in advance to every family to notify of any uplift. The home has heavily invested in several key areas to improve all aspects. Sadly this comes at a cost we feel we can justify. We remain...
The activities coordinator who organises the entertainment is absolutely amazing - she brightens up my mums day and I'm so grateful for everything she does. With regards to the carers - they go above and beyond! They know my mum so well and treat her with respect and maintain her dignity at all times! All so kind and approachable and I know my mum on times can be very demanding. They have so much patience and I'm so so appreciative of each and everyone of them. Thank you all!
Thank you for writing us a review. The way you have handled this transition has been a credit to you all. It is our pleasure to support mum and the family.
My grandmother was in this care home for over a year, and it's by far the best care home. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, always there checking in on us. The care they gave my grandmother was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend this care home; you will not be disappointed. Thank you Ael-y-Bryn, for all your hard work.
Thank you for leaving us such a nice review. It was our pleasure to care for your wonderful grandmother and get to know such a lovely family.
Excellent services; highly recommend to any other families who are considering a home for their loved ones. Very friendly, the staff are all so lovely and make you feel so welcome, the care they provided for my nan was outstanding can't thank them all enough.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback. The team will be really happy with your kind words, which I look forward to passing on to them. Take care.
