Due to the stroke, his needs are complex both physically and mentally, and the care and assistance he received from all the staff was exemplary. There were many challenges and the staff always met them with professionalism genuine respect and care. To say they went above and beyond doesn’t cover the true extent of how brilliant they’ve been. The manager was always happy to chat with me and the staff communicated openly and regularly. As I live some distance away knowing that my brother was being so well cared for gave me total peace of mind. Thank you again to all the staff at April Court.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are truly grateful for your words of appreciation and are pleased to hear that your brother has received exemplary care from our team. Open and regular communication is a cornerstone of our approach, and Im glad to hear that both the staff and I were able...
Mum is happy at the home, sometimes she gets upset and then when she sees me she's ok. The staff are very patient with her as she asks to phone me a lot (she likes to hear my voice and know I'm still around). I can't fault staff with Mum at all. They keep her clean and well-fed. She does like to do activities to keep her stimulated.
Thank you so much for your kind words and positive feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mum is happy at April Court and that our staff's patience and dedication are making a positive difference in her life. If there is anything more we can do to further support your mum or if you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
I cannot praise the staff enough, always very welcoming and friendly to visitors and all have a good relationship with my uncle who seems very happy here.
Thank you for your heartfelt review and for sharing your experience with us. We are honoured to have been able to care for both your aunt and uncle. It is reassuring to hear that our staff have provided a welcoming and friendly environment, and that your uncle feels happy and well-supported at...
My mother is a new resident here. I can't fault the care she is given. Brilliant food and entertainment.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We are delighted to hear that your mother is enjoying her time with us and that you are pleased with the care she is receiving. If there is anything more we can do to ensure your mother's well-being, please don't hesitate to reach out.
His room is clean and homely. He enjoys the meals and appears to have gained weight. The main asset at April Court is the staff (care staff, domestics, kitchen, laundry staff). Dad absolutely loves them all. He has banter with them all as he has a wicked sense of humour. He constantly tells me how good they are to him. I am so glad we chose April Court!
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. Our team takes great pride in creating a comfortable and homely environment, and it is fantastic to know that your dad enjoys the meals and has gained weight, we are so pleased with his progress. It is heart-warming to hear about the positive...
My dad has been at April Court for over 10 years and is now his home. My dad gets on with all staff because they are always on hand for his needs. Not once needed to complain as my dad is well looked after, always noticed staff friendly/smiling to residents and visitors, I know my dad is in a safe place where he is cared for.
Thank you for your exceptional review, it has been our pleasure to help take care of your dad for over a decade. We are so pleased that you and he consider April Court as his home, and he will always share a special place in our hearts. Ensuring our residents and their families receive a warm and welcoming embrace is top priority for us, we appreciate the time you've taken to leave us a review.
My dad was a resident at April Court. From day one we had many concerns they lacked knowledge of dementia and diabetes. We never felt he was in good hands like his previous nursing home. They missed his dinner on one occasion when I was present. He used to say he hadn't eaten, now I do question if what he was saying is true after seeing it for myself I wish I had taken his accusations more seriously. They kept his bed to the floor to prevent him from moving around freely which is against human rights. He had multiple water infections due to lack of fluids, even the hospital said we needed to remove him as it wasn't in his best interest being there. I would strongly suggest any family that has a resident in this home remove them immediately, they shouldn't be allowed to trade.
Thank you for your review, Rhian. It is obviously not appropriate in a public forum to give a response to each item you mention, in view of your father's privacy. We do accept that there are some things we could have done better, and I want to assure you that action was taken whilst your father was...
I have the confidence that Mum is safe and well cared for.
Thank you to the whole team!
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience, it is incredibly heartening to hear that our team's dedication to providing excellent care is making a positive impact on your mum's well-being. Ensuring the safety, comfort, and happiness of our residents is our utmost priority, and...
The atmosphere at April Court is very welcoming. The staff are all very friendly to myself and my mum. The public rooms are comfortable, warm, clean and well-decorated but the bedroom desperately needs new curtains and decorating. The care given is good but toileting Mam is sometimes an issue if she is unable to use steady. The food is excellent and drinks always available but Mam needs help to drink if I'm not visiting. There are always activities going on. A big asset is the lovely garden. Well done all and thanks for your care.
Thank you for your kind words, it is wonderful to hear that you and your mum have found the atmosphere at April Court to be welcoming and friendly. The team take great pride in creating a comfortable and pleasant environment, with clean and well-maintained communal spaces. With regards to your...
The kindness by all of the staff is first-class.
We are thrilled to hear about your positive experience at April Court. Providing excellent care and ensuring our residents feel supported and valued is our top priority. Thank you for recognising the dedication and kindness of our staff. We are here to continue supporting you and your husband every step of the way.
My mother has been at April Court for over a year and throughout her stay here the care has not been amazing at all. The few staff that are good at their job are run off their feet while the rest are more concerned with their phones and not caring for the residents. The buzzers are a constant background noise as they take ages to be answered, on occasions my mother has had to wait for over half an hour for the buzzer to be answered. When she fell in the night she spent over an hour to be found on the floor as no checks are regularly made during the night. Also, the food and drinks supplied are mostly inedible so I and my brother have to shop for most of her food and drinks throughout the stay.
Thank you for your review. We are very disappointed to read some of your feedback, especially as a few of the issues have not been raised with us directly. As it's not appropriate to discuss the details of your mother's care on this public website, we will contact you directly to arrange a meeting...
My dad receives excellent care given with empathy and dignity. April Court being an old building could do with some TLC, in particular the on-suite needs refurbishing. My overall experience to date has been very positive.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your Dad's experience at April Court. We are delighted to hear that you feel he receives excellent care, delivered with empathy and dignity. Regarding your comments about the condition of the building and en-suite, we appreciate your...
My husband has been living in April Court for approximately 16 months, as a family we are very grateful for the care he receives. The staff are very caring and warm. He seems very content living there which is so important. Thank you April Court.

The decor and garden are first class. The activity staff is constantly encouraging participation in cookery, crafts and games.
The food is excellent quality and the menu is adapted to individuals choice and needs.
When I stayed with my mother all day I was offered a drink and sandwiches which were fresh and tasty. If the Caron Group had a residence near my family in Caerphilly, I would put my name down for my old age needs.
I would like to thank you for your outstanding care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a heartwarming review of April Court. We are truly delighted to hear about your positive experience with us. It warms our hearts to know that you found our care home to be a welcoming and nurturing environment. Your feedback means the world to us,...
I cannot thank the staff enough, my sister-in-law was treated with care and dignity throughout her stay in April Court she was able to do cooking and gardening with the help of the staff. We had a lovely day with karaoke and cakes, she had a lovely room and we could call in at any time to see her if we had any questions there was always someone there to ask. April Court is an amazing care home with exceptional staff.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so pleased that your sister-in-law was happy at April Court, it was an honour to care for her up until her final days. We will hold fond memories of her time here.
A close friend of mine who sadly was terminally ill was admitted to April Court where she recently passed away. However, the care and compassion she was shown in the short time she was there were brilliant They kept her as active as they could with activities on a daily basis like bingo, cooking, painting and many more. The staff were very welcoming to us as her friends as well as family I would highly recommend April Court.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review about April Court. It was a pleasure to get to know her and a privilege to be able to care for your friend in her last days. It was lovely to see the close friends that she was able to make here and to be able to accommodate you as her...
I am very impressed with the care my mother is receiving at April Court Care Home. Especially in the area of entertainment and activities. My mother has been encouraged to take part in a variety of activities. It's my belief that since being a resident, her condition has improved. I thank all of the staff for their continued care and kindness towards her.
Thank you for your amazing feedback, we are thrilled to hear that your experience has been positive and appreciate your kind comments about our team.
I highly recommend April Court. My grandfather is not a very social person and had the tendency to hide away from people in his room. After much encouragement from the staff he now has the confidence to go downstairs with other residents. He is always busy doing different activities from crafts, games, cooking, gardening and much much more. Thanks to the activity career who is always running around making sure everyone is involved and happy she is amazing. It’s the happiest I have seen him in years.
Thank you for your beautiful review, we are so pleased to hear your grandfather has settled in and is enjoying his time with us. I am very proud of our team and the service we provide and it is wonderful to receive such positive feedback.
My Nanny sadly passed away peacefully at April Court nursing home on the morning of the 29th of December 2022. I would like to thank all the staff for looking after her with such care. They are all excellent carers and nurses who made her life happier for the past year. She made some lovely friends with both residents and staff. She sadly passed away with my Mam and Auntie sitting by her side. The staff supported them throughout this time. When she passed away, they said how amazing the staff were to come in and all pay their respects. From cooks, cleaning staff, carers and nurses they all equally paid their respects. As a family, we would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and managers of April Court nursing home for making her feel happy and well looked after as they are all one big family there. God bless you all staff and residents. Love from all the family.
Tiffany, thank you for your kind review. Your nanny was a pleasure to know and to care for and I can speak for all of the staff and for her friends here when I say that her presence will be very greatly missed. Many thanks for taking the time to send us such a lovely review and for allowing us the joy of getting to know your wonderful nanny.
I have nothing but praise for the level of care, consideration and kindness given to my brother by all the staff at April Court Care Home. He can be quite demanding at times but the team take it all in their stride. He feels safe and at home and I couldn't ask for more.
