My mother is a resident of Trafalgar Park. I pop in and out at different times and different days as I work shifts. Every time I visit here all staff are extremely helpful and always go out of their way to care and help the residents and members of families. The care is exceptional and I personally
would definitely recommend this home. Whatever needs my mother has at any time of day/night are met. I would not, or my family, want my mother anywhere else. The food is also excellent with alternatives.

I had a lovely coffee with mam this morning.
There is a lot of work going on in the home, but the staff are coping very well with all the extra work they have to keep the home running smoothly.
Lots of nice things going on to get ready for Christmas. Staff and manager all working very hard, keeping
all residents happy.

The care has been excellent. This particular time has been extremely harrowing for us as a family, but the care, compassion and understanding by the staff has been second to none. They have all gone way and above their duty. We will be forever grateful to them, for their care of us as well as our mother.
We cannot praise them enough, we have been kept informed of her condition at all times. Thank you Trafalgar Park staff.

The home ran trips all through July and August. Families were able to meet their relatives at a meeting point. We met our mother at Porthcawl. We had a wonderful day with the other residents, carers and managers. We had a meal, ice cream and most of all fun. My sister and I have a lovely memory that
will be with us forever.

Myself and family are very pleased with the care home. Mam settled in very quickly and is happy and contented. She has had minor health problems which has been dealt with quickly and professionally and without too much disruption. The staff are hard working and caring, taking an interest and interacting
with all residents.

I have noticed a change in the dining room. The notice board has a hand-written menu on it which is a lovely touch. The menu has also been updated offering residents a good choice of food. In fact, some days my mother has a difficulty choosing!! Music is playing in the background and one carer sits
on each table making the whole "dining experience" an excellent one. The catering staff work well as a team.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.747)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.747) out of 10 for Trafalgar Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.747 for Trafalgar Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (183 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 233 Ratings = 4.747
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Trafalgar Park Care Home is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

“Making care person-centred and ensuring we do it properly; to the best standard and best of our ability.”

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Thomas has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.
