Trafalgar Park Care Home, located in the village of Nelson, near Caerphilly, provides high quality personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built friendly and welcoming care home has a café, large landscaped garden and patio, pub, tea room, hair salon and quiet room. There is also a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms, suitable to all tastes.

The quality of care received by my brother-in-law is of the highest order. The staff are most caring and considerate in what can be very trying circumstances. Their friendly nature to family and friends of their residents gives confidence to families that their loved ones are really cared for. This
is most re-assuring especially when so many care homes in Great Britain received justifiable criticism for poor care and abuse to residents in past times.

My mother was in Trafalgar Park for 9 years and had excellent care the whole time. The staff were very caring and I also had very good associations with many of them. Always welcomed whenever myself or other family came to visit.

My father has been staying at Trafalgar Park care home for around six months and in that time I cannot fault the care he has received. The home is very clean the food looks delicious and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

My father enjoys staying at Trafalgar Park care home unlike previous care homes he has stayed at. The staff are marvelous and go out of their way to help the patients. I feel happy knowing that my father is receiving all the care he needs.

The staff put so much effort into all the events arranged for the residents making sure they are all included and enjoying themselves. The tea party for the Queen's 90th was excellent.

From the moment my grandmother attended and came to live in this care home I felt at ease that she was looked after with excellent care. From her lovely room, surroundings, fantastic care and respect/dignity shown to her at all times. She loves it here and can't speak enough of the staff and wonderful
job they do. My nan has been on respite to other care homes that were the total opposite to this care home. She loves all the activities she does ie. painting, singers, tea party. She enjoys having her hair done and staff maintain good hygiene with my nan. I would not let her go to any other care home. Well done Trafalgar Park.

Trafalgar Park is a great home. Nothing is too much for the caring staff. My husband is well looked after and does not want for anything. The home is always clean and tidy and decorated with things that residents can relate to. The entertainment is always good and the staff make sure all are involved.
The food is well prepared and residents have a choice of menu. I am so pleased my husband is there and has 24/7 care from all the staff who have the patience and love to give to all.

I have found the staff very helpful. I don't know how I could manage without them. I am very grateful to them, as I think having to do twelve hour shifts for the work they do they deserve better pay. They try to help us to make the most of ourselves and help us with our mobility. They all have patience
with us when we are feeling down or ill.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Thomas has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


Thomas closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked about why he chose to work in the care sector, Thomas remarked:


“Everyone needs help sometimes. We've all been in periods of our lives where we need someone to help us, regardless of age. I feel privileged working in the care sector and giving people the help they need.”


Thomas talks about his proudest achievement when becoming a father and having to rebuild his house after severe flood damage on his own, finishing it three days before his son was born!
